I would have preferred it if you kept the aged look, instead of smoothing it all out. I cringed every time you hit it with the welder. But, it's your bayonet. You can do whatever you want to it. Looks nice. ✨️🗡✨️👍

My Grandpa passed me on on these.
Cleaned of the Rust and it looks amazing.
Also with the original wooden handle scales

Phenomenal, in every way. You did a great repair. I'm curious how much time you spent on welding and grinding the blade? Is it possible to do the same job with welding electrodes? Thank you for the video work.

Who said this bayonet is rare ? Several millions were made, it's one of the most common bayonets of WW1 !

'Butcher' must be 'blücher' hence the name of the designer and the pickaxe is ww1 Italian

The right sand blasting would take the dark spots out of without losing much steel.

The scraping off the top rust is the best part for me at least. 😊. I wish more restoration videos would indulge that scraping.

I'm thinking that perhaps the original makers of this knife didn't do half as much work on it as you did. 😁

what the hell. this is not restoration this is butchering. half the original material is gone and you just weld onto it then sand it down. poor bayonet. it should have been left how it was at like the 6th minute lol. this isnt a bayonet, its theseus's ship
