  • This year marks the 53rd Anniversary of the Air Force Roulettes aerobatic display team! ❤️
Check out this #flashback video from last year’s celebration of over 50 years of the Roulettes, (delayed due to COVID-19), at RAAF Base East Sale.
The Air Force Roulettes were established in 1970 following the success of earlier teams, the Red Sales and Telstars.
With the first official Roulettes display over Point Cook, Victoria in early December 1970 in preparation for the Air Force’s Golden Jubilee.
RAAF Base East Sale in Victoria has been home to Air Force’s aerobatic display teams since 1947.

Love the Roulettes. Always has the wow factor and creates vivid memories, especially for youngsters. They did with me. Actually, they are probably what started my love of aviation. 😍

I watch you guys do training runs from Sale to Albury over my home, cannot imagine it takes about 40 min to fly that distance, so enjoyed the night time shows .... wish I could see you in the daylight, well maybe one day...fly safe up there & keep the entertainment training flights coming

Before I arrived at East Sale, the "Red Sales" flew the Vampires. I hesitate here but must be honest. They were all lost in an horrific accident. I was posted to East Sale in 1966 when the Telstars were flying the Vampires. Then in 1967 they became the Roulettes flying the Macchi's. Always an impressive aerobatic team. After I was posted away, they flew the PC9's.

I've always wanted to be in the R.A.A.f
But i don't know what grades people need if they wanted to be in the R.A.A.F.

Love there displays though with the investment into there training and there skills as a team giving them Super Hornets would be much better to attract new pilots while showing the RAAF give there display pilots good gear to work not saying the PC21 isn’t any good it is a great trainer but I think these boys deserve jets just like the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds, giving our display pilots props turns the clock back and comes off as a bit cheap with a that will do them approach.
