Team Cherry's Hollow Knight also comes to mind regarding this consumer friendly practice.

If you like the genre I suggest you Dandara: Trials Of Fear Ediction, which was a great game by itself and get an impressive free dlc, which doubles the longevity and literally makes it a new game.
That's Western Roman Catholicism for the most part, while having pagan ritual elements (which were incorporated into Catholicism). If you miss that difference, you miss a lot of the imagery and ritual meanings.
Spanish holy week...is one of the most beautiful and terrorific shows in the entire world. Im from León, in the north of Spain even the atheists respects the holy week here. All artwork and music in the game is based in this event.

Literally just finished. Started a whole new game just to get the full experience from scratch. The improvements helped me finally get that platinum (like putting markers on the map). Did Penitence of the Bleeding Heart for my Ascended playthrough. Just love this game. I hope there's more DLC at some point (noticed a few new rock-blocked doors)...or a sequel.

I'm really looking into getting the DLC. Just started the base game and I'm already in love with it. Even so, I'm also looking foward to some lore videos on the game, since it's kinda hard to see many content creators talking about Blasphemous beside some spanish channels and that's a little tricky to understand sometimes. #Blasphemous I've known of the game for a little over a year now being in the Soulsborne hemisphere of the gaming world. It wasn't until I saw the DLC and started rewatching your lore videos did I start appreciating the world, aesthetic and music. I can happily say that it has inspired me as an artist and writer.
I didn't get to play the game vanilla, so I grew with all the added content to the game, which made a very, VERY goof experience for me. This game kept me going for days. Though it sounds as if vanilla wasnt nearly as good and the DLC kinda brought "patches" instead of upgrades.
So, I was under the impression that you would be able to fast travel from shrines? I haven't been able to do that. I've just beaten the second boss (well, the second for me. Since you can fight the three in any order you want) and I still haven't come across any new fast travel mechanic. Edit: oh, I see. You have to upgrade the church in Albero. Well, I know now.

There are studies showing the surprising benefits of penance, been thinking about getting a Cilice. What's funny is a video game turned me from athiest to christian (got interested i the game's lore and looked at the source material).
I saw some reviews of blasphemous before, I didn't actually thought that they were really useful, mostly because I was already in love with the game because of it's art style and lore. On those reviews I saw quite a lot of them talking about the backtrack of the game and it being to difficult and unpolished. Seeing this dlc just makes me speechless. The lore, the details, the art and the game mechanics, all of them were improved from very good to *perfectus*, this game is truly a gem.

Interesting. So is the DLC additional objectives and battles that you do on the normal A-Z quest from the original game? Or a sort of choice between 2 series of events, one that ends with the final confrontation with Escribar, and the other culminating with confrontations between TPO and the Amanacidas?
Additional quest in the main game. I'm not sure if the new content will provide a different ending as I've only killed 3 of the 5 new bosses. The new quest line and the selective penances are only available in NG+ though. All other changes are applied to the base game. Some are subtle like new background elements (most areas have added details) whereas some areas have seen a rework (the holy wall or whatever it's called looks completely different).

Stupid question, but I've completed all of the penitences and I got the heads and the skins. But when I start a new profile I don't see the beads in my inventory. How do I use them or get them?

I'm still not really sure why they kept the extra bosses in NG+ only...I didn't feel like they were so much tougher that they required a second run. But at least the Penitence options makes a NG+ run feel more fresh. I also was a lil bit disappointed in Laudes since she was just a combination of the other four bosses but thought they all were pretty great leading up to it.
They've probably kept extra bosses in NG+ just to trying the new penitence system. Lot of people usually don't restart a game in NG+, so the majority of audience wouldn't've play and enjoy new contents. I agree about the final boss [dlc] it's repetitive and basically a copy and paste.
I was wondering if they managed to tweak the platforming sections. Although I thoroughly enjoyed my play through and am absolutely in love with the esthetic and setting of the game, the platforming sections felt out of place in this sort of game for how punishing they were. I felt they were so much harder and more frustrating than the combat situations, as they often meant instant death. I can’t even count the amount of times I miscalculated a minor jump trying to get to a section of the map just to die and have to restart all the way back at the save point. I wish it had a more forgiving system like hollow knight or other metroidvanias where you just took a chunk of damage and restarted at the edge of the map. Still love the game despite that though

But you could also see the team taking the feedback, thinking through it and making plans without compromising their vision for the experience. In each update post that work ethic of thematic consistency and iterative improvement was clear as day. I am really happy they made this DLC and am really looking forward to any more expansions or games they announce.
Just beat the new content. it was pretty good. Just a bit anti climactic that i had a bug just as i was about to get my reward for beating the last boss. jumped down from the statue before smashing its eye. no way to go back through the boss arena, nor the new door that goes there from the other side. guess ill have to wait for the next patch.

Platinumed the game and redownloaded it to check out the DLC, I uninstalled it once I saw NG+ stripped me of my heals and bead slots. It's so stupid, it might as well be just New Game.

Im on my first playthrough too, 14 hours non stop and 74% game completed...only 2 boss remained i will start new game+ and dlc after that

I don't speak a word of Spanish, but playing this game in Spanish with English subtitles increased the immersion tenfold!

Just a bit anti climactic that i had a bug just as i was about to get my reward for beating the last boss. jumped down from the statue before smashing its eye. no way to go back through the boss arena, nor the new door that goes there from the other side. guess ill have to wait for the next patch.

I just got this game on switch. So i have to beat the base game first, before I can access any of the dlc, both the first, and the second? Do I at least get the quality of life changes like teleporting?
Get also their other games, last door series. Totally different, but great!
Platinumed the game and redownloaded it to check out the DLC, I uninstalled it once I saw NG+ stripped me of my heals and bead slots. It's so stupid, it might as well be just New Game.

Honestly wanted to get this game for a long time since it has an amazing art and animation style. Reminds me of Team Cherry’s Hollow Knight and Dead Cells by Motion Twin. I’d love to have some of this game... Best part of the DLC: “yes you can pet the dog”

#blasphemousgiveaway i can't believe how deep in love I'm with the backstory, art and music of this game, it's simply amazing in every aspect and shows how incredible a game turns out when the developers really love what they do. such a majestic work.
Would like to play the game but there's absolutely no option to copy your save file into another slot. I don't want to start a new game at the expense of loosing all my progress. Kinda dumb of the developers not to put this into consideration.
