Super useful and well spoken, thank you!
You’re welcome! Glad you found it useful.
Excellent review, Brian. Really enjoyed it. Questions for you (that I don't think you answered in the video): Have you actually seen any of the prints that ArtPal produced? If so, how did they look? Are they well-printed? And do they stack up well, when compared to prints of your own work that were produced by any of the other art-selling websites that you use?
Hey Steve. Thanks for watching. To be honest, I have never seen a print of theirs in person so I am unsure of the quality. That is something I have been meaning to do.
I think it would be useful for people if I made a video comparing just a regular print from many of these types of websites. I may have to make an order from all of these places and do a comparison video!
Yes, I just asked this same question and now see you asked this one year ago. So, that seems like plenty of time to generate a bunch of customer reviews but I can't find any online. Why should I not be skeptical?
Very nice, systematic, easy-to-follow review, thank you Brian.
Very welcome, thanks for watching!
Good review. The main question is - did you sell any art on ArtPal?
Thanks for watching Yan. Currently I have not sold any of my artwork on ArtPal but have received profits through the referral program.
Indeed, ArtPal is really lousy.
@@rusticagenerica What is the best place to sell art online?
Thanks, Brian, that's such a great review What did you think about the quality of the product?
I still need to order some product from them to see the quality for myself!
Hey Brian, I am currently on FAA and it's not going anywhere, maybe I need more patience, but I will try my luck on artpal, thanks for the info. Peace...any other similar sites for print-on-demand?
Saatchi Art has a print-on-demand feature. Then there are the big companies like Society6, Redbubble, Teemill, etc that are full print-on-demand.
This is all very helpful but what is the quality of their merchandise. Do they have any customer reviews with glowing reports about their purchase? I can't seem to find any online. This has me skeptical....
I have been meaning to order something from them myself so I can actually see the quality and the speed of delivery. I may still do this in the future.
Hi Brian
Could you please make a video on selling digital art on this platform
I will put that on my list of videos to make! Thanks for the suggestion.
Thank you very much for making such an indepth video
You're welcome. Thanks for watching!
Thank you. This was informative! I do have a question. I want to put some of my designs on clothing, iPhone cases, mugs, etc. . I’ve got everything set up, but can’t figure out how to put my designs on these articles they have for sale!
When you are editing your artwork, make sure the "Print-On-Demand is selected. Then depending on the file size, your artwork will be shown for sale on all of the different products available.
Thank you Brian, very helpful 👌
No problem. Thanks for watching!
Thank you really helpful , How do you get clear scans of your work,I always find taking photos never good enough,do you use a local print firms flat bed scanner?
Thanks for watching! I use a variety of things actually. If the artwork is small enough, I use my scanner. Then if it is too large for my scanner (anything bigger than 11x14) I will use a camera. If I am able to visit my parents at the time, I will use my Dad's camera as he has a really nice DSLR, if not I will honestly just use my cell phone. I take the photos in natural light and use a tripod and an easel to make sure the photo is steady and the artwork is level. From the photos that I take with my cell phone, I can make prints that are 16x20 that are great quality. When I use my Dad's DSLR, I can make high quality prints up to 24x36.
Just began artpal.
How to know s&h cost???
I just guessed at a price for s&h.
Any suggestions??
Never did this, so anxious.
Artpal offered print on demand on only a couple of my works, since pixel sz small, I will hv to ship out myself.
Any advice
I use Canada Post and they have a shipping calculator that you can use on their website. So I just use that to help me estimate.
Wow, super Brian. Just what I needed to know. Do you recommend I get a WIX website as well? Awesome demonstration and really appreciate the help. What good is my art if it's just piled up in my house? I just don't know how to set profits on their print-on-demand. Any suggestions. Subscriber from Florida USA
Thanks for watching and subscribing Leah!
I know people who use WIX and are happy with it. I personally use Wordpress matched with Bluehost and am very happy with it. As far as I know, Wordpress is more customizable than WIX. I'm not sure in terms of cost which one is cheaper.
In terms of setting up the profits on their print-on-demand. If you go to the settings on ArtPal and click on "Print-on-demand Profit" you can see under the little box where you input your profit margin that they suggest $10 per square foot. You could always start with that but then go back and increase it later if you feel that it isn't enough.
Thank you Brian for this! :)
No problem. And thanks for checking out my other videos as well and asking great questions!
Thanks for video. Question. I uploaded an image to artpal. It says pixel to small for print on demand. So I scanned my image, but still pixels to small.
Do you know how I can make my image bigger to get get the higher pixel sz, so I can then get print on demand?
Hi Barb, thanks for watching. When you scan the artwork you need to make sure the settings for scanning are set to scan to high quality so that the image file is then large enough. Depending on the scanner you have will determine how you change this. It is usually measured in DPI, the higher the DPI, the better the quality.
Thanks for reply. I use the app scanner. So I will check for sizing on that next time.
Loved your video----I'll give Artpal a shot!!!
Thanks Timm! Best of luck!
19:51, as a hobbyist and self taught designer i want to sell my digital work. Can i sell it as a framed item? If yes, then how? Please guide.
Thank you for this video. I have a question, I live in Spain, do you know if artpal is good for sellers outside the USA.? Thank you in advance.
Yes it is good for international sellers. I am from Canada so it definitely works outside of the USA.
@@BrianSloanArtist thank you. That's really good to know. You're very kind
I have many questions. I have views no sales. Have you sold any art ? Did you get paid? Am i the only one who questions this site ?. It is too good to be true? How many art sites sell paintings without taking any commission. ? How do they make money ?
I have sold very little art. But yes, I have been paid.
They make their money from the Print On Demand products. They have their base price that you then set a profit above and beyond that. In that base price is a profit for them as well.
When you sell originals, they obviously don't get a cut, but they rely on the Print On Demand.
Hello Brian , I'm creating all my artworks in procreate which is digital art (oils and acrylic s) so can i sell them on Art pal and the website print them ?
Yes, you can. You just won't sell originals, but you can sell all of the printable products.
Thank u so much for answering my question ,im sorry for bothering u again. Is this the same for Saatchi art as well ,can i sell the digital file only and they handle all the printing and shipping
@@noragad9059 no problem. Yes, it is the same there as well. You can just sell prints of your work on Saatchi Art with digital files.
So your art doesn't sell as an original Artpal can copy the painting and then make a sais from what the buyer wants to have?
You can sell originals on ArtPal. But they also have a Print-On-Demand feature where they make prints of your artwork to ship to customers in the size that the customer orders. Then you get a profit from that.
Hi Brian. Which service do you use for your website? I checked it out but the design and interface looks very different to ArtPal's. I was curious to know if the one you use offers print-on-demand as well. Thanks!
I use Bluehost with Wordpress. There are different plug-ins you can use for Print-on-demand on a website but I don't currently use any. I have options to order prints and then just forward those orders to my supplier when they come in.
@@BrianSloanArtist Oh I see. Thank you for the reply :)
I’m from Pakistan which website is good for selling??
Saatchi Art is good. Etsy is also good. ArtPal doesn't have many sales from what I have seen.
This is the hot question : Has anyone managed to sell their work on artpal?
I'll be honest with you, I haven't directly sold my artwork on ArtPal. But I do know of many artists who have. You may ask, how do I know for sure? Because I shared their artwork via the affiliate program and received payment from people buying that artwork because they bought through my link.
Hi! I have a question. I just started my ArtPal account a few days ago. I listed all of my items to be sold as prints by using their print on demand system. However, if I wanted to sell my original piece, and ship it out myself, can customers still choose to buy it as a print instead?
Yes, definitely! There is a separate spot to fill in information about the original piece which will leave all the prints available too. Then even if the original sells, the prints will still be available.
@@BrianSloanArtist Nice, thank you so much for your quick response =)
So did you make any sales on ArtPal ? Do they ever advertise because I never heard of them before?
Still have yet to make any direct sales on ArtPal. Years later... However, I don't upload much on it or do any promoting to it at all.
Thank you for this helpful video ,one question- which is works of this two gallery you have more solds, artfinder or artpal?
I have sold more on Artfinder.

Hi Brian, just wanted to know if you have ever paid 0.99 cents to move an art work to the top position. If so, did it get significantly more views ? Thanks in advance. Great video btw 👍

Hi, i know it is very easy to work with website, but the ultimate aim is to sell the art. how many sales count you have got till date through website? This will show us the effectiveness of this website
Thanks for your comment, Ganesh. I personally haven't sold any artwork on ArtPal's website. However, I have received commissions because of it which in my books is still a success. Art is such a subjective thing that I think getting your art in front of as many eyes as possible is the goal. I know other artists have had much more success than me on this website.
I have a question do they do the frames for you or you do it on your own then ship it to the buyer?
If someone purchases a "Framed Print", ArtPal will provide the frame. If you are selling an original that is framed, you will ship the original with the frame yourself.
Hey Brian I have an account with ArtPal but when I post my art I don't have an option for room view as in your video. Do you need a special account or a certain number of posts before you get access to that option? I joined Artpal specifically for the room view so I'm bummed. Are there any other free websites that give the seller the room view option? thx in advance.
That is odd. I didn't do anything special in my account as you can see in the video. Are you making sure you aren't in the edit mode for the piece of art? Make sure you are viewing your gallery as a customer would, click on the piece of art, then it should show the room view option there along with the type of print options on the right. The only other thing I can think of, is that it might be browser dependant or only available on a computer and not a mobile device or tablet. I am using a laptop and safari. Let me know what you find out. There are a few apps though that will allow you to do this. One is www.ohmyprints.com/
@@BrianSloanArtist Hey thanks for the reply and i appreciate the help! I have done all things you have suggested and unfortunately still no option for room view. The only thing I can come up with is that I don't have print options with my art piece due to low pixels of my photos. Thx for the help and I will check out the app you suggested.
No problem. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. The image size definitely could be a factor.
Thanks for the review,
i see a lot of fanart in artpal, that's legal?
I don't believe it is. I'm unsure the exact laws around that kind of stuff (that's why I stay away from it) but I think it is copyright infringement. I may be wrong though! Sorry I don't have a better answer!
@@BrianSloanArtist Thank you very much
Hello brian, Can we see who are buying our artwork and can we contact them directly or through artpal? In short is the list of our buyers shown to us or the company keeps it to themselves? Thankyou.
You can see where they are from but no names are shared. There isn't a messenger feature on ArtPal. That's why I have my website and email listed in my ArtPal bio so that customers can message me directly if they have any questions
@@BrianSloanArtist thankyou 😊
top vid, a question possible to sell with art made example with similar apps photoshop, thanks😄
I can't see why you wouldn't be able to sell digital art. It would just use the Print-On-Demand service as you can't sell a physical original like other types of art. The upload process would all be the same though.
@@BrianSloanArtist ok thanks I'll try😄
i would like to ask, does the postage fee should be included in our art prices? or the website will manage the postage fee??
There is a place to add the postage for any original paintings or prints that you physically sell. However, for the print on demand products, they cover the shipping fees.
When you sell on ArtPal, do you receive the customer contact information?
If you sell the original to them, yes. If it is a print-on-demand product, you just receive their location. They can reach out to you though!
Thank you I just recently found this site and I am setting up my page. 😊 I just need to get PayPal set, any insight on PayPal Have you had issues with PayPal?
Thanks for watching Hallie! I have had no issues with PayPal and have been using it to collect payments since 2016!
Yes, PayPal is great, Hallie ... but they do take their cut per transaction.
can we remove mugs and other items that are not the print
When you edit an item, there is a toggle for Print-On-Demand products. Just turn that off. However, I think that turns off just regular prints as well.
@@BrianSloanArtist when I turn off print on demand do I still need to have a physical copy of my art work or does the person buying it still get the art without me having to do anything?
If you turn off print-on-demand then you have to have a physical artwork to send to the customer. Print on demand allows art pal to make the print and ship it for you. Otherwise, you have to do the work.
@@BrianSloanArtist I see and art pal comes to collect my art at my house then ship it but I still get paid instantly opposed to print on demand which says I have to wait 30 days.
They don’t come to collect the artwork. You are given the address of the customer and you have to package and ship the artwork yourself.
Print on demand is the only way that they do all of the work producing, packaging and shipping.
Have you ever sold on artpal? Their prices are so high for prints and no one seems to buy from the site.
Personally, I never have.
@@BrianSloanArtist Where do you make your sales? Website? Studio visits? Traditional gallery? Or?
@@mawequus3172 local markets, online through various platforms, social media, and my personal website. In terms of the various platforms, I wouldn't say one necessarily is the top one, I usually make a few sales on many per year that adds up to a decent amount. Saatchi, Etsy, POD sites like Redbubble, etc.
Thank you soo much! I have a question.

What would u recommnd to sell-
1.own website ?

3.both??
They do the production, frames, and shipping of any prints. If you are selling the original and say it is framed, you must send the frame.
@@BrianSloanArtist Thanks alot for the quick response:)
This helps me for a clear note!
Great to hear! Let me know if you have any other questions!
@@BrianSloanArtist sure! I askd anothr question in my first commnt..
Would you recommend own website to sell artworks? Or other galleries/ other websites?
To start out, I would recommend getting your artwork in front of as many eyes as possible.
I think having your own website makes you look more professional and credible than just selling on 3rd-party websites and social media. Not saying that selling on those websites doesn't work, but oftentimes galleries want you to have your own website when applying to sell through them. This is just from my experience.
what age should we use it at
Thanks for the question. According to their terms, sellers should be 18 years or older.
Good to know. Not sure how shipping works during shut down due to Corona -19 virus.
That is a good question Margo. Many other websites have posted notices explaining what they are doing but I was unable to find one on ArtPal. I'll have to see if I can dig anything up!
Hi Brian, good video btw. Bit of a tricky question.. I'm looking for a simple platform to sell quite a large number of my late brother's art collection; water colours, pencil and etching prints. Do you know if ArtPal will let me sell his work? Have read through the comments and I notice they are next to impossible to get in contact with, otherwise, I'd ask them myself. They seem to have a very 'hands off' approach to clients/customers and that makes me wary.👍
I'm pretty sure they would let you sell his work. Honestly, as more time passes it seems true that ArtPal really has no customer/user support which is very unprofessional. I'm planning on making a new video, or updating the one in the near future as it has been a couple of years now. I don't know if I would recommend them anymore.
I'm trying to think of the next best place that you could sell them. You could try Etsy, but there are listing fees. Or just social media. You could list them on Fine Art America for free. The free account allows 25 free listings.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
@@BrianSloanArtist Thank you for your reply. I shall continue to search for more outlets..
Does it only pay the sellers through paypal?
Yes, as far as I am aware. That is the only option I see on their website.
@@BrianSloanArtist are there any other websites you know that have other ways of payment cuz our country doesn't support paypal
Fine Art America can pay you by cheque. Etsy can transfer right to your bank account depending on what country you are in. Those are the two that I know for sure.

Hello Brian, well I have a doubt... if I sell my anime art in the site, within how many days does it get sold !?

It is a bit of a process for sure.
I want to buy two digital prints, but I’m nervous because they’re expensive and there’s no reviews on the artist. Plus, the size of the art is not what I intended. I think the size would work, but won’t know for sure until I receive and hang. If I don’t like it, can I return? I read two recent reviews by googling the website and customers said the site is not legit, never got a response from the customer service, and one customer never received their art. 😟 What should I do? I didn’t see the digital are prints on any other site, only this site/seller has them.
I have no experience buying from ArtPal so I don't know what to tell you. I would try to get in contact with the artist in some way and buy directly from them. Maybe they have a Facebook or an Instagram page you can message them on.
Each artist has their own return policy so you will have to look under their specific page. For example, on my page I have a 30-day return policy.

And If I my art done on paper, and then it uploaded on artpal, is artpal services designing it own way to sell our arts? Plz reply me Brain
Hi Kranthi. You would have to see what they bought. If it is the original, then you would have to ship your original piece of art to the customer. However, if it is a print, it will say what types of print they bought (paper, canvas, metal, etc.) and then ArtPal will take take of producing that prints and shipping it to the customer. Any of these platforms obviously don't allow your own SEO setup so you can't rely on that.
