Do you have any long-term experience with lithium batteries in motorcycles?

1 year - on Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE. All in good condition. Now there are already good and high quality LiFePO4 batteries, the ones with intelligent BMS circuit. These are all modern. But with a motorcycle with a LiFePO4 battery installed it is not advisable to be in cold conditions, park it outside in winter (I don't mean Florida hehe) or start it in the mountains early in the morning when it is below zero. It often fails the first start and I have to turn on the lights - the current draw will warm the battery up and then it will work. If I want to go into the cold/ride in the winter, I have to use the Pikes Peak MTS V4, but again that is limited by the cold tires and the Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV doesn't stick in the winter. So the next option was the BMW K1600GT :-).

Really needed this. I felt like I was going to break the tank cover the first time I was pulling it off 😂

Hi Rembo, thank you for this video. the original battery is suppose to be 8Ah. The one they sent you seem to be a 5Ah unit. have you had any issues with it?

Cool stuff Rembo. That’s the thing that jerks me off about KTM. Rubbish warranty without even doing anything in good faith. Like I’ve said a million times, the only reason they’re painted orange is to hide the rust.
I’m surprised you need to keep it on trickle charge. Lithium batteries do like to go poof…just ask Tesla.
Reports in good time would be great 🫡

Thank you for the info. The trickle charge shuts off because it’s a smart charger. It takes it where it needs to be for lithium and then just shuts off.

You can use Antigravity Batteries AG-BTR-1 Bluetooth Battery Tracker (for Lithium, there is also a version for Lead/Acid)
