I love Brushed Alpaca Silk. The sweater made of this yarn is very soft and warm. Have a nice fall and greetings from Europe🍂

I liked the comparison this way and would choose drops due to cost. Thanks ❣️

I always thought that the Sandnes Garn yarn was overpriced. It’s a great yarn but seeing it side by side with Drops made me glad I didn’t jump on the bandwagon. Both of them look like greats yarns because I love working with alpaca yarn!

We love alpaca too! It has been fun getting to see the similarities and differences of the two brands side by side and share our thoughts!:)

I’ve heard that drops melody is also similar to børstet alpakka!

A very important thing in my World is how it looks after longterm use.

Unfortunately every single yarn will deteriorate, some yarns are definitely more hearty,. So ultimately, it depends on the fiber type and how you care for your yarn/project. Stay tuned for a video on us testing the longevity of these yarns:)

I like ordering from Lindehobby. They are very affordable and it ships fast.

ow can both be worsted weights when the brushed alpaca is only 25g/140m vs 50g/110m. Wouldn’t the Børsted alpaca be bulky? I knitted the brushed alpaca with 2strands to get the same gauge.

That is a great question! We agree, the Drops is much thinner in comparison!

Knit Picks Stroll is a sock yarn, not a mohair or a brushed alpaca yarn, perhaps you meant to say Loft rather than Stroll?

Yes, that is correct! Oftentimes we don't have enough similar yarns like this brushed alpaca to compare it to, so in this case, we compared it to Stroll, a super soft merino!:) We'd love to try Loft though!

I think you should remove the 'availability' comparison. It doesn't make sense nowadays where everything can be bought online, and you can get all Drops yarns from Lindehobby very cheaply for the US.

Thank you for your feedback! Unfortunately there have been yarns that we have reviewed that are only available to purchase at one shop, and don't ship worldwide :(
