I noticed you’re saying “Nova” to get her attention where then she sits after looking at the treat. Be careful doing this as she’s going to think her name is a sitting command. Instead, bring the treat closer to her nose then lure her into position. You should be able to do this without even talking (except for your marker word). We also don’t use “no” in training. “No” is a confusing word to a dog. It might let your dog know you are displeased (also, keep in mind this is not positive association), but it does not teach them what behavior is expected. Ignore the bad, reward the good. “No” can mean “no jumping, no barking, don’t put that in your mouth, don’t walk over there, don’t potty there, don’t touch that, stop chasing the cat, etc.” Literally a billion different things, see how it can be confusing? They jump, you say no (to the jumping), and she thinks it meant not to look at mommy as that’s what she was doing when you said “no”. Other than that, I completely agree with the methods you’re using to teach your pup the commands. Luring into position and perfecting that before attaching a verbal cue. I love watching your pup’s progress! Keep up the good work.

How often do you train your dog? I know you should keep sessions about 5-10 minutes long. How many times per day should you train? How many times per week? Also, in what order should you teach commands? Should you sorta master one command before going to the next?

How did you get nova used to walking on a leash. Every time I leash my 9 week yorkie he sits and whines. He also persistently scratches his harness, I’ve tried loosening it and switching harnesses. Thanks!
I’ve gotten a few questions about this and would love to devote a whole video! But I made sure to desensitize Nova to the feeling of walking with a leash by wearing it around the house. I also started by walking backwards so she would be coming towards me and being exciting.
i recommend using one piece of dog food when training your puppy because it is healthier for them. If you give them a treat after every trick, it can add some weight to your puppy.
Hi we have 3 1/2 months old male puppy n a 3 months old female puppy. They both wait for food permission but if we go away without giving them permission, dogs start eating in our absence without permission. How to train them not to eat without permission even if we are not present there?
Maybe practice their wait duration and distance using treats. So like start with wait and take a step away and then reward. Then keep increasing the time and distance and build them up to you walking out of the room.
love your videos so much, but one thing is aren’t u meant to let the puppies stay with their mom till 8 weeks, as u cant pull them to early as it’s not good

The collar is a 2 inch collar small?
MONICA SOTO no the smallest it can go is 6 inches and the width of the collar is 3/4 of an inch

Hi! With consistency and working on it multiplet times a day I'd say she got it pretty well in a week.

You should teach nova dance and speak!
if you see this.. SEARCH UP TUNA, FLOUR, CHEESE AND EGG AND THEY ARE TREATS FOR DOGS AND WORK AMAZING APPARENTLY. give them a try!!

I got her around 8 weeks. It was a couple days earlier for accommodations because I had to drive 4 hours to get her.
