I love the broad spectrum sunscreen. For my skin Tone it blends right in and doesn’t leave no white cast. It’s the first sunscreen that doesn’t burn my eyes. I’m afraid to buy the tinted sunscreens cause don’t know how it would look on my skin. But I have been wanting to try it.

I love the tinted spf, but when I reapply it throughout the day I get WAY too much orange (I’m fair) around the hairline/in general from the layers. I just recently decided to buy the non tinted one and mix them together because I just love the formula of both!! (Just to make my own shade).

Hi there, Penny, thanks for the video! Tip for anyone else with very fair skin (NC10)- the tinted sunscreen is indeed too dark for me, but every year, I buy one tinted drmtlgy sunscreen and one untinted moisturizer and mix them on application. Would it be easier to be able to skip this step? Of course. Is it particularly onerous? No. I still prefer finish of the untinted Elta MD SPF 46, but not by much. Also, FYI, the colorscience sunforgettable (in theory, without a tint) is actually the perfect slightly peachy tint for me. But it’s a little thicker and stickier than my drmtlgy combo.

I use the Universal Tinted Moisturizer, and I’m a ginger. Many brands (even high-end) do not carry a foundation that I can wear. The lightest is still too dark. So, I think we pale girls can wear it!

The physical tinted one looks darker than the universal tinted. That’s what I see. I use the universal tinted. I don’t think I want to use the physical one. I love all the products.

Dr Dray just put one up today after getting asked to respond to Dr. Locke's video because of course you have folks who will only trust her opinion.
I found the tinted version to be extremely greasy and it never really dried down it's stayed tacky... I have combination leaning oily skin... Even after I put makeup over it my face was so shiny and it made my pores look absolutely huge! I was so disappointed!
I experienced something similar. I def have to use a mattifying powder with it. Some days it gives me a nice "glow" but most days in the humid Southeast, it makes me shiny. I haven't found an alternative that is hybrid and tinted. I don't wear makeup 6 out of 7 days of the week so this will just have to do for now.

It seems like Acure could be dupes for several products - I’ve heard ELF Holy Hydration and Inky List peptide cream are dupes for this peptide cream and/or Drunk Elephant - haven’t tried any of them but thought I’d share. I wish it was in a pump or air tight container, however.
So guess what? They’re a pack of 3 I bought on Amazon for like $25 (total, for all 3 😆). I’ll see if I can find them-I really like them too! Very comfortable and I think they’re as cute as my spendy prescription glasses. Hi Penny, question for you, I currently use the Skinceuticals Triple Lipid Moisturizer and have always wondered if the DRMTLGY Peptide Moisturizer was similar? I've been looking for something with a better price point since the Skinceuticals is $130. Hi Penny, I use and love untinted sunscreen especially the price. The only problem is I can’t use it right under my eyes It gives me issues but in saying the the same product from EltaMD I can use under (close to my eyes). Do you know why?

So, except for the slightly darker tint, and they both contain niacinamide, is the difference just that one has titanium dioxide? Still not sure which one to use. I do use the non tinted one on my neck and upper chest.
One is zinc and TD (all physical) and one is zinc and octinoxate (physical + chemical filters together). Some people want all physical, and some like the hybrid. All physical is often thought of as good for sensitive skin. 🙂

Hmmm. I’m not sure I’d say “good” for oily skin. It had THD vitamin C in it which is oil based. I think depending on how oily you are, you may not love that. To your other question-yes it can be a stand alone moisturizer 🙂
Ahh ok sorry. MAC is a makeup and they list their colors by number. The lower numbers are the lightest and the higher numbers are darker. I am about a 25 (what most makeup brands call light/medium medium). 🙂
Really most sunscreens over 30 are fine- it’s a matter of reapplication. If I’m going to be out in the sun I’ll choose Evy (it’s a long lasting SPF from Sweden that has won awards… I love it. Worth checking out! I buy it through a website called “ifsogo” .com But for every day, I LOVE the universal tinted moisturizer from Drmtlgy. It’s spf 46 and so beautiful on the skin ♥️

Not a fan of vita C5. I got it when it first came out and The smell although nice is Super strong. Not a fan of fragrance so I use it on my legs and below. I do like the recovery, snd universal spfʻs are Fantastic. Not so much the hyaluronic, i dont care for the ingredient but figure got it during black friday for cheap and i still prefer beta glucan to Hyla.

I found the tinted version to be extremely greasy and it never really dried down it's stayed tacky... I have combination leaning oily skin... Even after I put makeup over it my face was so shiny and it made my pores look absolutely huge! I was so disappointed!
I experienced something similar. I def have to use a mattifying powder with it. Some days it gives me a nice "glow" but most days in the humid Southeast, it makes me shiny. I haven't found an alternative that is hybrid and tinted. I don't wear makeup 6 out of 7 days of the week so this will just have to do for now.
I found the same issue, i ended up mixing ir it with another physical sunscreen that was very drying

It seems like Acure could be dupes for several products - I’ve heard ELF Holy Hydration and Inky List peptide cream are dupes for this peptide cream and/or Drunk Elephant - haven’t tried any of them but thought I’d share. I wish it was in a pump or air tight container, however.

Hi Penny, question for you, I currently use the Skinceuticals Triple Lipid Moisturizer and have always wondered if the DRMTLGY Peptide Moisturizer was similar? I've been looking for something with a better price point since the Skinceuticals is $130. I do love several products from DRMTLGY expecially their Vitamin C Serum, Needleless Serum and the Univeral Tinted.

Hi Penny, I use and love untinted sunscreen especially the price. The only problem is I can’t use it right under my eyes It gives me issues but in saying the the same product from EltaMD I can use under (close to my eyes). Do you know why?

So, except for the slightly darker tint, and they both contain niacinamide, is the difference just that one has titanium dioxide? Still not sure which one to use. I do use the non tinted one on my neck and upper chest.
One is zinc and TD (all physical) and one is zinc and octinoxate (physical + chemical filters together).
Some people want all physical, and some like the hybrid.
All physical is often thought of as good for sensitive skin. 🙂

Hmmm. I’m not sure I’d say “good” for oily skin. It had THD vitamin C in it which is oil based. I think depending on how oily you are, you may not love that.
To your other question-yes it can be a stand alone moisturizer 🙂

MAC is a makeup and they list their colors by number.
The lower numbers are the lightest and the higher numbers are darker.
I am about a 25 (what most makeup brands call light/medium medium). 🙂

Really most sunscreens over 30 are fine- it’s a matter of reapplication.
If I’m going to be out in the sun I’ll choose Evy (it’s a long lasting SPF from Sweden that has won awards… I love it. Worth checking out! I buy it through a website called “ifsogo” .com

How do you feel about the needless serum?
I think it’s really nice-but I would not pay full price for it. There are so many great serums out there.
It is NOT a “Botox alternative” as the name might suggest …

Not a fan of vita C5. I got it when it first came out and The smell although nice is Super strong. Not a fan of fragrance so I use it on my legs and below. I do like the recovery, snd universal spfʻs are Fantastic. Not so much the hyaluronic, i dont care for the ingredient but figure got it during black friday for cheap and i still prefer beta glucan to Hyla.
