Saw Courtney Barnett open for someone years ago (I want to say Belle & Sebastian or PB&J). Anyway, she just was so unexpected and blew me away. Glad to see her have so much success over time. No thanks to me of course other than fan appreciation.

@@danopticon Sorry Peter, Bjorn and John. My wife is more of a fan than I am of B&S and PB&J which is why I don't remember which was the headliner at the time. Pretty sure one of the two but, anyway, glad I learned of Courtney Barnett back then.

Someone please explain. I watch a live show (on YT) at a US venue like Coachella and it's nothing but a sea of phones. I watch a live show (on YT) at Glasto...and it's nothing but a sea of smiling faces. Barely a phone in sight. When I first noticed I thought..."did they ban cell phones?". Nope. You see them every once in a while. But folks in England watch the show through their eyes. Folks in the US watch the show through their phones. Explain?????

i think people are more likely to film a bunch at a single gig but for a festival u go there for the “experience” so u snap a few pics and vids each set but ur just there with all ur mates having a great weekend overall as opposed to trying to get the most memories u can from one evening if that makes sense? also just a lot more casual drinking and drugging as the day goes on so ur not in a state to get great vids anyway haha

She would regard that as a compliment. She basically took songs she wrote and recorded in her bedroom to the world and the world was ready. People are tired of all that over produced autotune shite.

Although I do prefer her earlier stuff, I found her latest album pretty enjoyable. Her lyrics are as good as always.
