My big 2024 epiphany was to go 18 inches 4060 and found out they upsell you the 1440p almost every build. In retrograde.. maybe I shoulda went 14 inch not 1440p resolution. lol
Thank you for providing this review. What seems quite troubling that it does not come with a higher RAM capacity, even the option of 64GB RAM soldered on... How might this compare with the new Razer Blade 14 in 2024? Again, thank you for your review.
It's meant for use as a premium mid-range creative/gaming device that's why you won't see 64gb RAM in this. If it had capability for that much RAM, they wouldn't pair it with only a 4070
@@arathdelatorre9 Asus nerfed the RTX 4070 on the 2024 model. It only has a 90w TDP compared to last year's model which had a 125w TDP, probably due to the new thinner chassis. Jarrod'sTech did a gaming benchmark and found that it was one of the slowest RTX 4070 gaming laptops, just slightly faster than the RTX 4060 laptops.
non upgradable RAM is actually a deal breaker for me. I waited for this, and just bought the ryzen 9/4060 2023 model for 1000USD from best buy. upgraded to 2tb 990pro, and 32gb memory AND still spent LESS than the 4060 2024 model. slim is fine and all, but if I would never sacrifice cooling capabilities just for it to be thinner.
Man, the only 14" 64GB laptop out there is Lenovo Yoga 9i and it's battery life is 1.5 hours. The older 2023 G14 is barely in stock and I hear there are Quality Control problems all over the place. That even a lower Lenovo Legion Slim 5 with a 4060 has better performance. So, how can we get a 64GB + at least 4070 or 4080 laptop in 2024...?

@giftysafrilla2598 love it and have not had any problems, I did upgrade to 64 gb but that's overkill if I had to do it again I would only do 32 and save some money. Also the alienware is a beast vs the razer when it comes to temperature, it stays at 50 to 52 c where the razer was always between 62 to 72c I mostly play overwatch and do alot of video and picture editing for work. I also have 2 monitors hooked up to it and it runs flawlessly. Note: i did have to buy a dock for the monitors.
Also only thing I do not like about it is that it is a bit bulky, so had to also get a different backpack for it. I carry it in vertx gamut on the ccw part.
Is your model broken? I notice the screen wobbles and shakes even when you try to support it with your hand on the hinge, it seems it wobbles even when you touch your desk.
This 2024 version it's clearly not an upgrade from last year. Fan noise and thermals are still a "problem" right? (a third fan? are they crazy?) Nice video, TBH on the ram subject. Removeable ram will get faster within time, I think majority would rather have upgradeable memory so us 4060 customers wont have to pay so much extra just for 32GB ram. I do understand why the ram is soldiered in this machine tho. With it being a thin gaming laptop theres not much room for upgrades.
Hey Ben. Here's a few things that i think might help the video quality improve (from a person who knows nothing about videography). Color grading should definitely be top priority, since some of the shots look a little washed out and unsaturated. The other is using a gimbal stabilized camera for the b-roll shots of the product.
