Loving what you are doing with this vehicle. I too can see the pups riding around in the back. What an incredibly fun vehicle. I enjoy reading everyone's comments and they speak as if they were all standing encircling you as you work. You have many many friends who are so comfortable with you. Also, if they still have truant officers, this vehicle certainly would be a deterrent!
I think its funny how he thinks he is building a Cushman panel truck. In reality he's just building a mobile storage bin for the horde. Loving this series. Thanks for sharing with us.
I'm sure those metal crabs are breeding :-D You are really into this project, it's coming together smashing :-D It is looking like a hound pound vehicle.
I like the Prison transport look to go with the Police theme. Great work. I look forward to these videos! Keep up the great work. I wish I had the space and tools, I would surely be in the garage doing Mustie things!
Looks awesome watching these projects I love the metal fab and the vw stuff all the way here in South Africa I'm in the same boat a lot of work but awesome all the same keep up the great work
Getting away for a couple days seems to agree with you. Everything just fell together so beautifully and the satisfaction in your voice lifted my spirits good job!
Can make a mini camper out of one of these.... On one side a driver seat the other side a bed with storage under Behind the driver seat have cooking stuff... some how jam it all in there... solar panel on the roof... some LED lights... etc, etc..
From Meter Maid runabout to Territorial Marshall's Jail wagon..., like to see Clint Eastwood as the Deputy with a bunch of Wanted men in back ambling down the trail back to FT. Smith, AR...!
At first I was kind of skeptical about the whole topper thing. But I have to admit after the video, I see where you're going with this Darren. This is too cool dude! Can't wait for you to get a sticker and start driving this sucker down the road.
A little note to Mr. Musti1 ! If you go off road with this Cushman it will high side and you get to push! When I went to work for Post Office a long time ago( late 1960 & 1970) I had fun working out of one of these! So continue and. More important have fun ! Be safe!
i can't wait till you start back on the double cabe. That is one of the cars I have alwas wanted but have never got a chance to buy one, maybe someday. keep up all the good work love the watching you work on them such great skill.
We should dub this the Cushman carryall, like the early 70's gm model. It's very close to the three door design. And it's a pretty unique construction. Wehether you agree or not, I'm well impressed with it.
This is the kind of thing that they used in Italy when I was there in the early 70's for city delivery, many of the streets and buildings were very narrow being built in the times of the Romans.
Just a thought I may have missed it and you may have but when doing fab I always take the time to level what I'm working on before any welding starts . Take the time it will pay off with a nice finished item .
I don't know why you need all of that structure..I guess I kind of thought there would be side doors that popped up with a top hinge for easy access from not only the rear but each side also. Love the series..
Nice, neat, mini paddy wagon. Did you consider putting the hinges on the top horizontal frame? This could solve several issues and you could employ gas struts or locking flat steel struts to keep the door open. Thank you.
Hahaha, you mentioned those dog pound magnets a viewer sent you and said you may go that route. Looks fantastic my friend. I wouldn't have went that route initially but after seeing it now I completely get it.
An answer to the age old question... Who let the dogs out? Well I know who it won’t be! I have to say you almost had me fooled for a split second until I came to my senses showing us that pic of the closed in cushman, I was like “NOOOOO, where’s the rust?!?!” Total Awesomeness, keep it up!!!
With the dog pound signs I see a fun dog carrier where you can take the dogs for a ride and keep them safe, and still be able to use it for other purposes. That would be neat as part of a parade with the signs and dogs.
Hey Mustie, just a thought if you do something like this again. To bend the sheet metal that closed the gap between the back and cab, you might have found it easier to make a bending form out of wood cut to the same or just a slightly smaller diameter than the corner of the radius of the original cover (back) and then made a notch or flat in that. Line the flat directly opposite of the sheet metal and then clamp that. You could either do it cold with a mallet, or heated it up to bend it. I would have made that crease on the opposite side only about 1" long. It would have made the transition between the curve and 90 degree bend a little smoother. Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing what you did. Just a suggestion that might have made doing the radius a lot easier. One question, why did you change from the 1x1 for the verticals to re-bar?
Pretty cool. I've have seen these old "Cop In A Box" been used as pizza delivery and advertising and small business use even as personal vehicles here in nyc

For the Horde!
Those pesky Hoards.
A joy to watch my friend, Billy from N.Ireland.
its pretty amazing how well the trunk lid works as a roof.
Oh Oh Oh it's MAgiC ....You Know....Never Believe it's not so...!!!
I keep thinking of the Child Catcher's van from the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang for some reason ☺️
Absolutely Awesome build Mustie1 !! Your creativity never ceases to amaze me!
Yes, a new Mustie video. Now I can avoid my work for a little longer!
Edit: A rolling paddy wagon?
looks like a usps vehicle two me!
Great job!
You would make an ideal tech school instructor, too bad there are no tech schools anymore though!
Thats exactly what I said, Sitting in the shop eating lunch, open youtube and see my ol buddy mustie uploaded a new vid!! Perfect timing!!!!!
Steve Brecht Paddy wagon was my first thought also.
Missed it by that much. Lol I love when you laugh at your mistakes. I need to learn that skill.
The bars are too far apart...the mice will get out! looking Good!
Ed Moore LOL, Naaa.... Big mice in his area maybe.
MRrwmac you remember the Tom and Jerry when Tom thought the Kangaroo was a mouse. Didn't know Kangaroo were native to New Hampshire.lol
"Rat Rod"
Scrumpy B Right. Big Rats. Haha
City rats
I'm sure those metal crabs are breeding :-D
You are really into this project, it's coming together smashing :-D
It is looking like a hound pound vehicle.
Mustie the "Dog Catcher" ! Your signs will look great on that. :-}
No! Kiddie catcher.
With the size of that cage on the back he can get Cats, Dogs AND kids!
I was thinking it has to be dog catcher as well, gap in the bars is to large for mice catcher
Pretty neat. I have no idea where you're headed with it, but that makes the whole thing that much more fun. Thanks, Mustie!!
I like the Prison transport look to go with the Police theme. Great work. I look forward to these videos! Keep up the great work. I wish I had the space and tools, I would surely be in the garage doing Mustie things!

60 degrees today out here in Southern Nevada. Had an inch of rain yesterday. I can see snow from here. Thanks for reminding me what I'm missing.
A paddy wagon! Looking forward to seeing the double cab back in the garage. .
Cushman meter maid, 2.0 paddy wagon , amazing Musty !! 💥💥😲💥😲💥😲💥💥💥😲💥😲💥😲💥😲💥😲💥😲💥😲💥😲💥😲💥
Getting away for a couple days seems to agree with you. Everything just fell together so beautifully and the satisfaction in your voice lifted my spirits good job!
Man this build mustie... you incredible this is a beaut AWESOME upgrading ideas on this !!! cant wait to see finished result
Can make a mini camper out of one of these.... On one side a driver seat the other side a bed with storage under
Behind the driver seat have cooking stuff... some how jam it all in there... solar panel on the roof... some LED lights... etc, etc..
Man oh man Mustie she's coming along nicely. You're doing an awesome job making your vision come alive. 👍 👍
Paultro 84 I second that! It sure is great!
From Meter Maid runabout to Territorial Marshall's Jail wagon..., like to see Clint Eastwood as the Deputy with a bunch of Wanted men in back ambling down the trail back to FT. Smith, AR...!
My father drove a Cushman everyday for nearly 41 years at his job before they moved over to kabota's. Hauled tons on his old ride.
please tell me you are adding a sound system that plays nothing but jailhouse music. Folsome prison blues... etc. Kind of like the ice cream man!
Hoot! The Pied Piper of the big house.
Cant wait to see the double cab in the garage! Nice work on the cushman!
At first I was kind of skeptical about the whole topper thing. But I have to admit after the video, I see where you're going with this Darren. This is too cool dude! Can't wait for you to get a sticker and start driving this sucker down the road.
i always like the videos before even watching it because i know it's gonna be a good video
That, and I keep forgetting and having to double back to all the videos I watched to thumb them 👍
A little note to Mr. Musti1 ! If you go off road with this Cushman it will high side and you get to push! When I went to work for Post Office a long time ago( late 1960 & 1970) I had fun working out of one of these! So continue and. More important have fun ! Be safe!

Wow mustie1 has done it again , awesome transformation wtg , from Les in Cali keep up the good work
never made fun of your vise grip collection, just eyed it jealously ;) as a pick-up, the cushman would've made a great hauler for the motorized bikes
luv the build, please post more episodes. you are legend of builds. we want more mustie!
I remember these old Cushmans from my old amusement park days, be careful top heavy turns over easy! lol
totally awesome can't wait to see it finished that was a great find
Now we should take a road trip in it and Lock Harvey in the Back for a Hell rip. lol Great work, Cheers Dizzy.
It's looking good! I love the idea of covering the back.
"...obviously I never paint anything why would I have paint sticks right..." LOL
Love this thing but I'm ready for the double cab!
You may be dyslexic, but the pictures in your mind are incredible! I have been several steps behind you the whole time.
aixelsyd ;)
I wish to see an update on this. Also i wonder if you could bend those hinges back so they dont stick out
Throw a few lions in the back and join a circus :)
J Walker 9
Looks amazing, you have a great eye.
We should dub this the Cushman carryall, like the early 70's gm model. It's very close to the three door design. And it's a pretty unique construction. Wehether you agree or not, I'm well impressed with it.
I love the look of it, it like a small 3 wheel SUV ,mint dude👌
Pure genius again on a one of a kind project vehicle.
2 thumbs up from here !!
This is the kind of thing that they used in Italy when I was there in the early 70's for city delivery, many of the streets and buildings were very narrow being built in the times of the Romans.
what you have is a radial frame haulster, and the van version had a steel body with full length plastic top (like a big snow sled)
Just a thought I may have missed it and you may have but when doing fab I always take the time to level what I'm working on before any welding starts . Take the time it will pay off with a nice finished item .
Man, I'd love to see someone turn one of these into a tiny camper.
I don't know why you need all of that structure..I guess I kind of thought there would be side doors that popped up with a top hinge for easy access from not only the rear but each side also. Love the series..
Don't forget to give Brian his vice grips back ? She's a work of art, can't wait to see the final result.
I see I'm not the only one with tape measure dyslexia.
all the time
To make a hinge for gate cut square tubing on bottom of sides and replace with round and sleave another pipe over for gate to weld to
I’ve always heard those magnifiers called “cheaters”.
Nice, neat, mini paddy wagon. Did you consider putting the hinges on the top horizontal frame? This could solve several issues and you could employ gas struts or locking flat steel struts to keep the door open. Thank you.

Reminds me of modern Chitto Chitto Bang Bang scene...Lollypops...
Wife transporter!
mother inlaw
Topdraw Reply classic HA...
@@mustie1 more Outlaw , I guess ? lol
Awesome!!! I would have put a diagonal in the back doors and called it good. The skin will then make it rock solid.
Looks a little bit like a Wales and Edwards Rangemaster for milk deliveries in the UK....
Those were electric...Yeah we had electric trucks in the 50's Milk was early so SHHHH!
Awesome looks great and those dog pound magnets will look good with the cage on back
I was close on my guess...maybe? I'm liking it. Imagineering!

I love your clamp collection.
Cheaters for the welding helmet...👏👏👓
Weight is no problem, you've got 18 HP.
Depends on the Mother-in-law... LOL
Accidental irony that the police Cushman gets jail bars in the bed?
You're also a member of the ViceGrip of the month club?
LMAO
A few more, he could be club president :)
ViseGrip*?
A car show "pit bike" for your dog. I think this is great. Your dog will have tons of fun.
.... My buddy actually had a parcel delivery Cushman that was like a extra-long minibike 8 HP ....early 60s as I recall....thing wàs nice....
Looking good, Enjoying this series lots, I thought this was going to be a get it running and never see it again!
What a great project. What a fun vehicle.
I think this is how Mayor Mc Cheese transports the Hamburgler to his numerous court dates.
I’m sure i will see this in the background of some S&M video in the future... ;)
Yesss the doubble cab is getting back in the garage!

Really curious how you decide to solve the hinge issue :)
Can't wait for the next episode!
ahh going solid side, interesting :) it'll be pretty stout with that rebar in there
I suggested you put a dog cage on the back a few videos ago so I'm going to take credit for this one! Nice video Mustie1.
Looks like a Paddy Wagon with yhe bars !
Ha, nice thumbnail, give people a scare! XD
Looks pretty good, fit to hold the largest of breeds!
Looks like a mini Paddy Wagon looks great.
Also for those gaps instead of jumping the gap with the weld you can put in a washer or two, weld it sold, then grind and excess hanging out.
Great use of rebar...
Great ideas and great work! Keep the updates coming
Recall one of the magnetic placards saying dog pound that going to be the theme of this? Great video as always.
Yeah! Double cab incoming! (I love the cushman too.)
Was I watching a video about a horse's head this morning, or was I having some sort of a Mustie/Coppola weird dream?
Hey Mustie1, U can keep a tiger in the back, I like it!!!
You are planning to transporting a convict? Look's to me like small jail cell for shunting between PD :-)
You need a couple benches and some ball and chains. Full service paddy wagon....!
It looks like a medieval chariot where they would carry prisoners in the back of it, in this kind of cage.
So cool, I see parade participation requests coming your way, lol.
Pretty cool. I've have seen these old "Cop In A Box" been used as pizza delivery and advertising and small business use even as personal vehicles here in nyc
Will make a nice utility vehicle ,for getting beer's at the corner store.
I had my doubts at first, with the top on, but nicely done.
At last, the double cab will be back in the frame, nice one
Nicely paced editing on this one.
The Shriners called... they need the Cushman for their next parade!
I love it, it's starting to totally look like a police paddy wagon lol. I wasn't sure what you were building but I'm loving it😈
thanks its a fun project
Up next, solid front axle swap from an old Jeep, lift kit, transfer case, locking diffs....
