Wow! Just Wow! I didn't know that Folsom had a 1st Class orchestra. Everything was 5 out of 5 star in this performance: the orchestra, Nakamatsu, the sound of the recording, and the video direction of the shots. I have listen to this concerto since I was a child (almost 60 years) and must say there are many places where a pianist can hide in this piece. Nakamatsu attacks the piece with precision and grace.... and you can hear every note. Just amazing. I subscribed, and will be going through the video collection, and hope to visit Folsom for one your concert....especially if Nakamatsu is performing. Congratulation to all.

A solid brilliant technique , he knows all possibilities of the piano his nuances and dynamics only very few pianists that I could think of that have it.
His playing goes from passionate to electrifying, on fire, his pianissimos are incredibly soft. A pianist that always plays on the right styles of all periods of music from Bach to Stravinsky. But I think part of it is his personality, he is honest to himself and to the music he performs. A truly mature musician, humble because his music is so deep in his soul part of him that comes natural.
He is a gold winner medalist of the most important competition Van Clibern piano competition and the most prolific pianist of all previous winners, has many recordings and concerts all year also US gold medal of the Chopin competition. C B

I have follwed his career 35 years.
He already has played in Europe with those orchestras many years ago. He is a truly mature musician. He has had many years playing international and in most important halls in US. And also a lot of chamber mudic
