- Ted Nugent hosts the opening night of KISS' "Farewell" Tour in 2000. Notice the lifts that Peter uses when decending on the platform to make him look as tall as the rest of the band!
Comment if you were there!! Развлечения
That’s when Kiss should have called it a day. Gene was much more active on stage, Paul still had a voice and Ace and Peter were there and still playing well. This is the Kiss I remember and idolize…
2000-01 Farewell Tour was the real End of the Road
Ace and Peter are still the best in Kiss.. Ace is the greatest, a legend. He still is a Rockin and Rollin. And thank God for his Sobriety. Shock Me Ace...
Why Paul and Gene couldn't find it within them to deal with Ace and Peter's eccentricities is a mystery. Don't they know all great bands in history had great opposing personalities. Energy requires opposing forces meeting in combustion.
Isn't he drinking?
This Farewell Tour was the last time I saw Kiss and the last time I needed to...
Well said!
Saw them in '75. A fantastic show for a 13 year old.
My first Kiss Concert was Creatures of the Night when I was 15. Saw all the 80's tours. Saw the 96 reunion tour twice, San Diego and LA. This concert was by far the best... saw it in Vegas. Saw them in the mid 2ks... not the same as it was back in the day, it's a lot slower beat. The Destroyer outfits were my favorite... so that was icing on the cake for me. My first Album was Alive II, then went on to buy them all. Room was wallpapered in posters of Kiss until I left for the Navy. Favorite poster... yep, Destroyer album.
I remember taping this as a kid and watching it before school every day for about a year. So good!
I was there!
Incredible concert 😁
I took my 16 y/o to his 1st KISS show. He was just memorized. We had 3rd row seats. Afterwards, we saw highlights of the concert on VH-1. We saw a quick pan of the crowd and saw ourselves in the clip. My son was elated.
That was probably my 7th or 8th KISS concert. I've always followed KISS since I was 15 years old. Detroit was my hometown and KISS was always very well received there.
Rock on my friends, rock on!
I'm so grateful I saw these guys when they re turned in full Kabuki makeup in 96,97 and 2000. Even twenty years later still sends chills down my spine watching this. The original kiss nothing like it. Although I was born in 1975 I would have loved to have seen them back in their Heyday but I'll take this
I was born in '61 & had a VERY obstinate father who RANTED about that "G
D KISS"! who eventually realized that altho I loved KISS I am hyper-conservative!😂
I am so sorry for your loss. I was lucky enough to take my son as well. I am glad you were able to have such a great moment.
Was at this concert, loved every minute of it!
I took my son Chaz to his first concert here. May he rest in peace. Full make up in a white limo. he was 14. GREAT TIMES!!!
I'm so sorry
Condolences.
May He Continue To Rest In Peace🙏
What happened to him?
I was there! This was the best show I've ever been to!
i hope your joking
Go to more concerts then....
Thank you Kiss! I was born in 75 so I missed yalls concerts. Moms wouldn't let me go that young. I finally got to see the hottest band in the world!
So glad and thankful to my older brother that took me to see them in 96/97 forget the date in Omaha NE ! changed my life !!!!!!
My first and only Kiss concert was January 23rd 1976. Erie County Fieldhouse, Erie Pennsylvania. I was 15 and in the front row.
It didn't get any better than that.
Isnt that the show where they scorched the ceiling with their pyro?
Somewhere in that crowd is the most excited 5 year old boy in the universe.
Bro I took my shirt off and twirled it in the air in Denver during this tour. I remember like, 2 things and one was confetti. I wish I had better memories haha but being 5 years old...
Why? did he have on ear plugs?
LightenUpFrancis miserable little prick, why do you keep talking shit about KISS to KISS fans? Dumbass
About 1976 i was one of the fired Up Kiss Army fans, 5 yrs old 48 today still love original Kiss!
and his name is Ted Nugent
Paul still sounded pretty good then. And with Ace and Peter...*so* glad I saw that tour.
No he talked the whole show!
Yeah, he still had it here.
Yea but you can hear him starting to lose his ability to sing in the early 2000’s
Its bittersweet to see these guys fight so much and bitch talk about each other. What Ace,Peter,Gene and Paul created was one of the GREATEST rock bands in the universe. KISS was filled with magic, power and a unique style that was pure excitement. I wish them the very best no matter what. KISS will always live on.
Im very sorry for your loss! I hope he enjoyed the show and may God Bless your family!
I never heard of a farewell for over 20 years....
I was at their show at Dodger Stadium..they ROCKED!
I love Peter and Ace, they are the best. Love Uncle Ted also. KEEP A ROCKIN...
The sound mix is fantastic!
This wasn't their most energetic show, but the Farewell Show they did in New Jersey, that was shown on Showtime PPV (and Kissology 3) was AWESOME and one of the best concerts they ever did.
Sure but fixed as hell
I wish it had been the farewell tour... i know it was for me...
Peter hittin' the drums like a little kitty kat
Saw their 1st show at MSG in 70-something, then 1 or 2 after that. Love Gun tour was so loud you couldn't hear what they were playing. It was pretty intense at The Garden back then.
I was there that night!!
Tarmac Dren So was I, last row of the pavilion before the lawn started
Same place I was. I got really pissed when all the low rent lawn assholes climbed the fence and streamed in, and some even went down center towards the front. Poor Security.
"These guys mean it! They MEAN IT,from their guts! And there's a LOT of guts up there, and they stuffed it into those sausage stockings!" Fucking BRILLIANT! If for nothing else,Ted,THANK YOU for THAT line!
Thank you!
I went to the show in Detroit.. I was 12. Face fully painted..
Thanks1 sAW TIS SHOW IN nY SKID AND TED WERE GREAT TOO! kiss!
I saw these guys once in the 1970's. Age takes it's toll on us all.
Next you'll claim that water's wet!😂
And your point???
@@GStraitKISS1:I think his "point" is KISS aren't young & hip these days!...IOW he's a 'tard!😂
This should have been farewell....some bands don't realize when it's time to quit ....kiss is one of them
Ted Nugent opened for KISS back in the day
i noticed that, i even remember thinking that when i first saw this on v h 1.. he looks locked in place and moving slow. but the rest of the band sounds slower than normal too.
saw kiss in chattanooga tn back in 200o farewell tour my parents took me when i was 10 years old
I was at ace guitar tech sta8in Chattanooga
Eu amo a banda Kiss eu tenho dez anos e tenho a camisa deles
Oh, now I see. Thanks! :)
Brilliantly good stuff
Pure Magic! These 4 💥💥💥💥
Sounds fine to me
Lots of memories. 🤟💋🎶
Gene's voice has aged so well.
eric singer, paul, gene, ace.please do some recordings, that line up live was unreal, people need to check those shows out on youtube. best theyve ever sounded, there was definite chemistry
No Eric Singer he is a good drummer don’t get me wrong but Peter needs to be in the line up
This should have been their last tour, when they weren't a joke, as they are now
You wanted the best? YOU'VE GOT THE BEST! SAY IT LOUD AND PROUD! I AM BLACK! AND I'M PROUD!! This is a meltdown celebration in American celebration, God help us all..
Pete, massaging the skins like Charlie Watts.
LOL. Charlie is Neil Peart next to Peter here. Back in the day Peter was pretty solid, but not here.
I'm sorry but Pete looks like Doris Roberts from Everybody loves Raymond in Kiss makeup...
@@alexmay5347 LMAO!!!
Not a single person commenting on here can say that they were in the band. Or played all those clubs until they finally sold out arena's & stadiums around the world. But yet you think you're worthy of criticizing KISS. You guys didn't start up the band or influence so many to pick up drumsticks and guitars. When you go to a KISS concert it's something that you'll never forget. It's BadAss, balls to the wall, blood curdling, fire breathing, guitar smoking, rocket shooting, drum rising, guitar licking, Rock n Roll all night freaking party that will have you talking about it for years after. I know I've been there several times and you get your money's worth and more. They made it big time while you sit there typing Peter sucks and Ace isn't any good. I'll be at the final Farewell show in 2019 partying with this band that goes all out. Atlanta Ga.
Nailed it!
i saw them on this tour :)
Farewell Ace and Peter Tour.
+obrapro Maybe that's what they should have marketed this as, a Farewell to Ace and Peter, but then again Ace stick with it for another year I believe and Peter came back for awhile with Tommy when Eric was doing ESP stuff before being let go. But yeah, this was more or less an official farewell to Ace and Peter's unwavering involvement with Gene and Paul.
I am amazed at how people throw jokes on founding member. I mean I don't care? I just don't understand how they are buying into the whole spaceman and catman thing? It's Ace and Peter
harry balls boo!!!
I would have booted them long ago.
@Napolion Dynmomite Ace has more talent that runs down his leg then fake poser Frehley
Déjà 23 ans , comme ça passe vite nostalgie 😢
takes me back when i broke the bee gees saturday nite album and played destroyer till it didnt play then watched star wars 17 times and dairy queen served ice cream in NFL helmets...woow yaaa shout it out loadddd
I was there!
I got the T-Shirt to prove it!
Right on!
Ok? Why do you feel the need to tell RUclips that?
Legends
Miss you ace
You guys rock, good ole rock n roll
*FAREWELL TOUR - 9 YEARS AGO, YET, THEYRE STILL TOURING...*
Farewell tour with the original members maybe. Hey who are we to say, they are still raking in the money and God knows Kiss likes their money especially Gene
Notice when Peter steps off the platform he leaves his shoes behind, LOL, 'cause it's impossible to play with platforms.
what?
Make sense
Oh my gosh, I went back to look and you're right! When he steps off the riser, the platform part of his boots just stay behind! I wouldn't have noticed that if you hadn't pointed it out.
@@53rdAndThird it’s not his platform boots ffs it’s a little riser so he doesn’t look absurdly short next to the other three in their boots.
You are so very welcome!
This was a great stage set up and the duel KISS logos are cool . Ironically, this was their lamest tour for pyro as seen ( or not ) in the footage
God I love rock!!
How many farewell tours are they gonna do?
6:03 - ROCK LEGEND
Unreal.
So glad Pete is done with the band
I SAW THIS IN BUFFALO....GO CAT MAN....
UHG! I guess we don't know until we walk a few miles in his platforms.
P.S.-Ace Plays great-given the challange, and thats ROCK AND ROLL 76 STYLE............
which farewell tour was this the 1st or the 50th?.
KISS hasn't done multiple farewell tours. They did one with the original lineup. Then reformed a new version that doesn't make Paul an Gene so freaking nervous. Now they're ending with the new version that didn't make Paul and Gene so freaking nervous. But I don't see KISS being completely over. I think they'll make occasional TV appearances and maybe play small venues here and there.
@@louisborselio8608 True, notice how this tour is only called "End of the Road" not "Goodbye Forever" or something. Im thinking the KISS Kruises will continue, at the very least
Schmuck Amok, I think there may be a Kruise or two in the future. I think Paul will be wanting to stay home and paint more. But we might get Gene touring with a band like he did a few years ago, just to get away from his trump hating bitch of a wife.
Peter looks like he about to break. They had to put amplified sensor's in his drums to make up for the lack of pressure of hitting the drums. Sad to seem him is this state. I saw live in 1996, and got the T-shirt! They rocked that night. Peter retired last year for good due to failing health...:(
74 torino Yes they are triggers and they are no big deal at all! When Neil peart plays he’s rolands what do you think produces the sound? Triggers ! You are correct people that bitch about triggers don’t know what there talking about! Tommy lees upside down roller coaster drum set was triggered
Kind of strange you mention Peter Criss using platforms... he doesn't wear high heels or he would not be able to play the drums. So yeah, when you're already three or four inches shorter and someone puts on eight inch heels? Good idea to whoever thought of it.
They got the tempo right!
Nugent rocks don't care what liberals say. Kiss is the greatest
Funniest opening i have ever seen. They stopped that real quick.
I seen it in cedar rapids iowa it was a great show paul n gene always always give a great show
Uncle Ted has been connected with KISS for 30 years. MotorCity.
I remember this! This was SO BAD!!! lol
It was a fun night.
楽しかった♥️
@Believe316 no he didnt i saw a show on this tour, it went like that on this tour
Ace left on his own, Peters health (and most likely greed too) ended his time in Kiss. Im jutjust glad they got back together for a couple tours.. better than nothing..
Just saw the End of the Road Tour 2019 fucking blew the roof off of PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh
What pissed me off was after the reunion! Farewell! Cyco circus tour ! Paul said they had to keep play n the same set lists cuz pete and ace couldnt learn anything new ????? Here we are 20 some years later * with their 2 new old saviors! !! And their playing the same stuff ! Peter and ace make kiss sound LIKE KISS IS SUPPOSED TO SOUND ! NOT 100MPH !!!
Peter barely touches the drums. They used triggers so he could be heard at all.
I think by this time Peter was just bitter over the fact that he was making crumbs compared to Gene and Paul.
I wouldn't doubt that he was intentionally playing that way to spite them.
I didn't get to see Ted, it was Skid Row opening.
Skip to minute 3:00 to avoid listening to Ted’s loud mouth
you mean turn off at minute 3 to avoid hearing the shittiest band in the fucking universe
Thank u hes a twit
Yeah he was going 'hunting' in Africa? Rhinos? Lowland Gorillas?
Prob with an AK47 too!
Fantastic guitarist, but a total gun twat!
Triggered? 😂😂😂 Trump 2020
Haha Trump wont run a 2nd term, he NEVER wanted the job in the 1st place!
Peter a few months before 54
Gene 50
Ace 49
Paul 48
Me 50 now in 2020. I can't do any inches of this show.
Hey Bright Eyes, Criss could not wear the platform boots the rest of the band wore because he played drums and you use your feet to play drums which you obviously dont know.
Long live the greatest rock and roll band in the world We Salute You Kiss
does anyone have a houston recording of them in 2000. i was there two rows away from stage.but also the legedary stone cold steve austin was there was well in one of the front box seats.
Stone Cold was there at the concert holy shit wonder if he was a fan .
Opening was at Bakersfield I still have my ticket stub
Nugent being himself pre concert.
So sorry to have heard that. What happened to your son??
Time to see who in here is cool and who isn't. What song has the best guitar solo in it: Detroit Rock City or Under the Gun?
Fun Fact: Eric Singer is shorter than Peter Criss. Peter is 5'9 and Eric 5'6 (It's lol worthy to me that he's just 1 in. taller than me.)
He's a butt midget
I find it rather cute and amusing that he's only an inch taller than me.
I hear that's a common practice, if you have any criticisms you get banned from all official websites that you post negative comments on. It's a shame that Paul's voice is so wrecked. I recommend you watch videos for a tribute band called Mr. Speed. The guy that portrays the Starchild is quite great.
As far as Eric and Tommy go they are very good musically. I have never thought that they weren't good musicians. But seriously I like them better without the makeup or the gimmicks. That and Eric just looks hotter as a blond. Personally I think Eric should have stuck with ESP. Oh, and i'd totally date short guys, in fact I like dating short guys because I don't have to strain my toes to look them in the eyes, and Eric has some nice blue eyes. But enough of my fan girling!
It should be called " 2 guys who were in Kiss Plus......"
Not lip syncing?
First song name? Please.
