    No Vibrato In Your Singing Voice? This video is about the pain and suffering until you get it. I’m going to talk to you about what it was like for me to not have vibrato in my voice for 44 years.

    Lacking vibrato is the major reason leads me to see vocal coach. I'm now stuck with it and sometimes feel discouraged. Anyway, I’m still working on it. Thanks for sharing. Your story is so inspiring to me and makes me feel that I could do it one day.

    I have been working on my voice for years and I still don't have vibrato. I'm currently taking lessons, doing daily warmups, and practicing daily. When I hear people tell me that vibrato is something that comes with proper technique, it angers me. It's such a slap in the face after putting in so much effort.

    I can confirm this. I truly wished I was born with vibrato. I thought that if other singers were born with it, then why can't I have it as well. I would always envy other singers with that ability. If only I knew vibrato can still be achieved through training, I would have trained myself even sooner.
    I only knew about this when I was 18 years old and I'm 19 now. I would have been more confident with my voice in school if I had the ability.
    But on the bright side, at least I've known about it now and I have finally unlocked it at this age. There's still room for improvement but I can already tell I sound so much better now with vibrato! Ughhh
    I was so happy when I unlocked it. It was like having a new superpower, just like how Aang (the last airbender) unlocks his ability to control other elements. That kind of feeling!
    I encourage everyone, singer or not, who doesn't have vibrato to train and unlock it and you'll be more confident in your singing.

    It is painful. I have been learning to sing quite seriously for 5 years now with different teachers. The past 3 years I have tried to practice vibrato. Nothing obvious missing according to 3 different teachers. I have now lost belief that it's possible to learn. It might come or then not. I have also wanted to sing solos but with the lack of vibrato start to feel that maybe I'm just not up for it. That I'm carved to singing back. I am not anymore interested in singing in a choire, that's what I did my school years. Maybe it's just a sign that I'm not made to be a singer, not good enough.

We sing specials at least once a month. I’m sure I can get it. Just don’t know how long it will take. When I sing specials I’m nervous and don’t do as good a job as I wish I could do. I was told when I was 16, that if I wasn't born with vibrato, I didn't have it. My teacher was wrong. It is completely possible to learn vibrato and have it sound fantastic. I learned vibrato when I was 43 years old. To me, it was a miracle. Vibrato is healthy for the voice. If you always sing with a straight tone, eventually your voice will fatigue and over time, the quality of your voice will decline. Vibrato is something you always want to be able to choose. Otherwise your voice is limited. The best singers have vibrato and use it regularly.

    When you do all the exercises etc how long does it take for vibrato to start to naturally come through?

    • @PowerToSing
      @PowerToSing  2 года назад +2

      The cords have to do it long enough to memorize the feeling...and they will. When you practice, make give yourself plenty of air supple and sustain the vibrato as long as you can...so the cords have chance to develop the new muscle memory. It doesn't take long at all to begin feeling it. How long it takes to have it feel natural varies from student to student. For me I would say 3-4 months.

      I certainly don't think so! I can't abide the sound of it. My parents "treated" me to attending an opera when I was 11 and I had to flee the opera house when a coloratura soprano started warbling!
      I love either vocal or instrumental music which uses the note, the whole note and nothing but the note, and am involved in early medieval music and Irish traditional Sean Nós singing neither of which use vibrato.
      Not everyone likes it, and music caters for all of us!

    I'm literally shocked by your story. Never even heard of such thing as vibrato is something that people bron with. It seems to me that some people can just naturally utilize vocal core more efficiently than others so that they won't need to train specially for that. It's just like some people have much louder voice when talking than others who are having a hard time trying to speak louder. They just need to learn
