As an opera singer, this is almost never taught so precisely (it could even be more precise), some people don't even mention support, some people say you have to push down & out, some people say you have to "lock" the belly... honestly this is one of the best explanations I heard. I wish there were even more exercises to specifically train THAT. Thank you!
@@ericarceneaux thank you cause squeezing the abs was the advice I was given back when I was passionate and learning and due to supporting my voice wrongly I’ve regressed a lot so this helped so much
I have never been disappointed listening to your singing advice videos Eric! Every one feels rich with good advice.😍 Thank you for giving so much free, valuable content!❤️ Bless you!
Eric, thanks for the like. I have to let you know I have pre-cancer of the Osophegus and I am deaf in the upper vocals since birth. My voice started to fade and it's the only thing left I can do - anyways, since I started doing your breathing you have saved my vocals. I have also built up my core strength. Thank you from my heart, you are such a good person. I see you every day. You've become quite a friend.
Authentically always adding value with all your vids Eric. You are appreciated my man and see you in class in September. Was so impressed with the previous “Breathing Boot Camp” class as well. 🙏🏼💥😎
Just wanna say thank you so much for the precise and helpful tip! It instantly helped me understand what breath support is about after all these years! Resistance is the key
We try to cap each class at 30 people. Beyond that, it can feel less like a voice class and more like a university lecture🫤. We like to keep it interactive. 🙂
This was awesome, but still leaves me with a question or two… When the notes get higher and belty, I see everywhere we need more support. What does that translate to? More muscles to allow less air to escape? When I go higher it feels like I’m kind of squeezing my lungs (by way of belly/ribs pushing inward) to get more air pressure, while still not letting too much air out. Is that correct?
Very interesting! I just discovered your channel and your explanations are amazing. I've discovered a lot about my voice the past week, and I feel like I might be hearing some improvement! I do have a question, though, if I may? How do I suspend the airflow while singing, as I suspend air with the F sound? I hope that makes sense how I'm saying it... Hmm.. I mean, what do I use in my body to hold onto the air without it all wooshing out, when the F isn't in place to prevent it from wooshing? As soon as I stop the F, it all wooshes lol Thank you Eric, I appreciate anything you could advise me ^_^ God bless!
I know it’s says “chest voice” in the title, but the technique in this video is exactly what you’re looking for 🙂👉🏽 ruclips.net/video/oadVau39QNg/видео.html
If you’re singing, then you are exhaling. So I t’s not that you “hold your breath”, but rather that you slow down the release of the air-resist the collapse of the body. We use the “F” to experience this phenomenon in an organic and reflexive way, avoiding the common pitfall and tightening or locking the body.

Best way to describe it. Tired of hearing people say squeeze the abs

This video is one the most important videos on singing. Without understanding this you can't do anything.

Yes sir!!!! 👍🏻😎. Thanks Eric.
I've never thought to concentrate on the feel more than the sound. This is an interesting lesson. Thanks for all you share.
"When you are "f-ing" what are you feeling?"
Well.....let us speak of the Birds and the Bees....
Excellent video on support.
“When I’m F-ing” 😂
Lol. When you’re f-ing, ask yourself what you’re feeling. God I’m such a child 👶
After the words left my lips, I thought, “😐 Just keep going. Keep talking. You’re NOT re-doing this whole video!” 😂😂😂

Man be dropping gems! God bless, Eric 🙏❤

Hey Eric...
I sent AAproach an email concerning lessons some time ago...
How do I get in touch?
Give me your name and email address (I won’t “approve” the comment, so as to protect your privacy), and I’ll have my assistant contact you today.

So instead questioning "How do I sound?" you have to ask yourself "What the F do I feel?"

"What is support?"
I'm not sure, my father never gave me any.
