I have no intentions in becoming a singer. but, the reason why i'm watching videos like this, is because i studder. I read a testimony about a man who had cured his studdering by doing various vocal exercises lip trills, the hiss, etc. so far i have been seeing a lot of improvements in my speech maybe I might take up singing as a hobby
I am honestly amazed by your focus! I didn't expect too many views until the normal daylight hours, but some of you are hardcore about your training - I LOVE IT! 🙌🏾
I'm no expert but Eric has said in previous breathing videos that Dizziness or feeling a little light headed is not uncommon. It's nothing to be alarmed by.
I almost lost my singing voice due to illness a year and half ago. My breathing is still not back to where it was. This is the best I've found for recovery.
Listen for me. I'll be singing in the choir on Christmas eve. We're singing the Bing Crosby/David Bowie Peace on Earth/Drummer boy and watching your videos everyday
So, I discovered Eric's channel couple nights ago. When I was a kid my grandma told me not to sing so I never did. Lately I have been having this urge to sing. so here I am . I have been staying up every night watching these videos and diligently practicing the techniques. I started secretly singing with the awareness I have received from Eric's videos. Guess what? I actually can sing :-) Thank you for your wonderful videos and passion that you deliver with every video you post. You have empowered me to reach a potential I didn't know I had :-)
Eric I just wanted to thank you 🙏. I am an up and coming musician from Johannesburg South Africa 🇿🇦 and you have been coaching me and supporting me through these videos more than you realise. I have a competition coming up and I for the first time actually believe in my ability, without all these videos I’m not sure I would have gotten to this stage. so I wanted to thank you thank you thank you for your service. 🙏💙
I want to thank you so much for posting these. Three years ago I severely damaged my vocal chords (a mix of over use, muscular dysphonia due to a very stressful time in my life, and GERD burns in my larynx). I was completely unable to speak, much less sing. I went on complete vocal rest for 3 whole weeks, then went through speech therapy to at least regain speaking ability (I'd completely lose my voice, no sounds would come out, after only 20 minutes of soft speaking). While I did eventually gain my speaking voice back (to some degree. I still cant really yell anymore), I definitely lost my ability to sing. It was soul crushing to me. Three years later I still struggle with my voice. I still lose it a lot (even a night hanging out with friends is a lot of effort on my voice) and while I can sort of sing, all the clarity and edge is gone from my voice. I've been searching for years for something that might help at least regain some of that ability back. And your videos are the first thing I've found in years that have really started making a difference. Thank you so much. Maybe I'll never be a vocalist again, but if I could even sing for my own sake, I would be happy.
I just want to say thank you. I have only watched a few of your videos regarding warming up my vocals and strengthening them. And I have been trying them out and they really work. My lungs were injured in a lab and i never thought i would even live to see today. So im singing all over again after years of damage. I lead Praise and Worship now and before i would always lose my voice but following your instructions, i dont lose it anymore. God is so good and youremy Angel. Thank you
I'm a singer and street performer. Your videos straight up help me out immensely. I taught myself how to play and sing and even just doing the warmups daily make such a difference. I actually get a way better reaction out of the audience and make more money which really just helps me continue to do what I love so thank you brotherbear I am a fan forsure!
I use the 360/diaphragmatic workouts always when preparing for a gig/audition/rehearsal. It's all you need!! I haven't sung in a while so I've been working myself up to the Advanced workouts (dropped in the deep-end covering the lead in a heavy rock band eep!) - these videos are VITAL to prepare my voice and avoid any damage. Thank you, Eric! (we love you!)
Got into this one on the exact day I needed it. It's also a spiritual practice working with Eric's approach ... - thank you again 🌊🐬🌊 reminds me of the saying "when the student is ready, the teacher appears"
Hi Eric Thank you for all your videos, this one is really a great one. One thing if I may add- one way to feel that connection to the root can be done first in a "frog" posture, when you do that twice or three times (inhaling while in that posture) you immediately feel the breath going down to your pelvis, and your hips. Then when you stand up again it is easier to recognize that feeling of expanding down there without the need to force it down.
Liona Hotta what do you mean by "frog" posture? I'm struggling so much with that feeling of deep breath and I feel like I do it totally wrong, it makes me desperate :( I hope you'll reply.
I recently started singing in a choir and have been told I am the 1st soprano, which is the brightest lady voice! :-O ! I feel myself struggling with this, and hope that your videos, Eric, can help me become more confident in the soprano role! I wish that I one day is confident enough to maybe do a solo performance :D
So good. I had a neurologist explain how to deep breathe to me, but you're explanation is 100% better! Not only for singing, but for getting oxygen throughout the body. So good......
EricArceneaux u r doing awesome job. so helpful. but sir can u suggest me some place to practice these warm ups which are weird a bit. problem occurs with people surrounded.. i can't find some suitable place.
Hi Eric, I am new to your page. I am from southern Georgia, we have nothing like this here. Thank you for share your expertise with us. I am an inspirational singer who is very much in need of you teaching to help me to become a more confident singer.
I am 5 years late to this video, but I started to watch &practice all of them and it's helping me so much! Thank you for all of your work and being so kind to post it on RUclips for everyone.
Hi Mr Arceneax i have been following your tutos from the beginning and with no kidding ,you thought me much more than anyone for the past 3years when i started singing.just wanted to thank you for everything and to let you know that many of us follow your channel here in Cameroon(Africa)
hey man i just wanna say thanks from someone in alaska where theres not a lot of vocal coaches. You are one of the few who actually puts good content out( for free)and doesn't just whine about the other youtube coaches, Ive done your routines for six months or more now pretty regularly and it's a very noticeable improvement especially with control THANKS again!
Eric, you are a Godsend to all the people that love singing and are unable to afford lessons or are located far away from these sources. Your technique is gentle on the vocal cords, which I appreciate and feel it is the safest for my vocal cords. I have purchased your Instructions (5-6 years ago). You are loved and appreciated, don't forget that. Again, thank you so much for helping all these people.
I do everything that you have said to do every day and i take two hours every night to go over more of your vidoes and now have a routine. I am very forcused and thanks again. you are a great teacher and have a gift for helping people.
Eric you are such an insightful and rich person. Thank you so much for these videos that you have posted for the public, it's dramatically improved my voice and technique, with a fraction of the efforts I would make for my voice prior to watching your videos. You really have made and are making a difference. Blessings man, and to all, happy singing
So glad you've made such a range of videos on the topic of singing! I live really far from any half decent singing tutors. Without these videos and the warm ups, I don't know what I'd do!
Thanks for the video updates on here. I've been looking and practicing with the old one's. I've been only able to do those only on Saturday's if I'm not tired form my job. I have a history of respiratory infections and I'm having a bad one now, so I'm just watching the video's.
Hey aside from your dope ass content, even your delivery and teaching is getting like 10x better than when i first saw you with the vocal warm ups, recorded on your computer webcam, from 8-9 years ago! Dude i can't tell you how much i respect you!
Thats a great tip right there! For years i knew that i will find a connection between singing and strength training. Eric - thank you, Elliott - thank you. breathing into your balls can fix everything !
This really is a game changer for me. I can only imagine what it will do for my vocal ability when I can take these deep breaths more naturally. Just when I was starting to get down about not progressing. You always have the answer!!
This is absolutely amazing! :) I've always known to breathe from the lower abdominal when singing. But when I tried to breath from my virgina I literally felt electricity shot up my body. It felt ecstatic! This really has taken my vocal strength and pitch (!!!
hey MY name is Mokone and i am a dancer with a high passion for singing.came to USA from South Africa to study at the alvin Ailey school in New york 4 years ago.i love this vedio because i find it usefull for my lower back which is jammed and causes the hips to also be tight and also causes the body not to do proper lines .not only i find it useful for my voice but also for my dancing as well. thank you.
IF I ONLY KNEW THIS ONE SIMPLE TIP FROM THE BEGINNING. IT CHANGED MY WHOLE SINGING, IM SERIOUS. My god, this exercises are so similar to yoga, this video is pure gold. This breathing made me feel relaxed and rooted like never before. The notes come SMOOTH & POWERFUL.
I knew the "Elliot Hulse trick" but didn't know the "coccyx trick". It worked immediately, I gained breathing space immediately. What a fantastic teacher!
Thanks for such fantastic information you are the real deal .I have been a singer for 30 years played thousands of gigs and everything you teach is so true and the correct vocal technics to sing well. Thanks for helping others to sing its healing for our souls . Cheers Erick in New Zealand
I truly want to thank you from the bottom of my heart I learnt so much from your lesson and now I am almost close to the professional level singer You should listen to my album when it comes out later this year I do follow your instructions and it has helped me so much in becoming a good singer Thank you ever so much
This lesson has been absolutely ENLIGHTNENG! so brilliant, I thik I understood how It feels to root the breath (it feels liberating and open and lifting to me) It was brilliant!
Thanks man... I am so thrilled I found your channel bruh... Been struggling explaining to my team what exactly is happening and what should happen when we sing, you brought the mental image in my head to life mate... And you going into detail, wow! just wow... Thank you Sensei
I’m learning to sing and said to myself, his videos have really helped me understand the physical art, so I decided to try out the advanced workout and it’s working out for me! 💖
Thank you so much eric, i been watching your videos for over a year now and have to say my singing has improved a lot, your lessons, your techniques have been very effective, i can sing high notes very comfortably i dont feel any strain or tightness in my throat like i used to, hopefully i get to see your workshop one day, if you do come to California, but looking forward to get one on one lessons with you or your team
this was the most funniest voice lessons i ever found in ma life xD (i hope no one looks at my book which basically have notes for singing exercises and stuff ;p
These advanced breathing exercise video helped me so much!!! I avoided it for so long because I thought I already knew how to use my breath to strengthen my voice but I was very wrong. Thank you for your videos Eric!
my default way of breathing was upper chest and since watching your videos of singing my normal breathing during the day has me feeling 100 times better. even though i cant hold a note or sing just doing these exercises alone have me feeling great.
These sessions are fabulous, thank you! Not only informative and focused but make you smile and laugh too. I use my voice in teaching viola and violin and performing and find the exercises have helped me.
I live in Iran, I could not attend your classes because of the economic situation in my country, the teachers told me that I could never be a singer and that was my dream, but now I can sing. Thank you for your videos. 🤍
Vocal training aside.....this is a wonderful breathing technique for meditation. My eyes where closed before he said “you don’t have to close your eye” 😁
Dear Eric, thank you so much for this video, all your videos are awesome but this one was very helpful as i am learning how to breath, if i was in your city i would probably love to have you as a coach, anywhere even though i seem to be so far away, i will keep on learning from you, thanks a million
Awesome too see you making videos again eric!! and so cool too see you referencing elliot hustle - love his videos. I've been following you for a long time - study with your udemy courses and such. And i can say - your singing sounds improved!! even more than before which is crazy since you were already really really good. As for this lesson - it's really helpful too remind yourself the importance of such things. And most of all - practice them!!. Anyone new to singing watching this - really make sure to understand the importance of every detail. Some key details can make all the difference. Listen closely. Watch the videos several times.
I have to tell you this @Eric that your exercises have really helped me build and strengthen my voice, to be able to belt out for like couple of hours.. its amazing how easily you explain the workouts and it does help a lot. Best of the online courses i have ever seen .. love Kaushik
I've been teaching yoga for over 25 years and in yoga, we teach pranayama (breathing exercises) (prana, a primal energy force or energy from spirit) and one of the ways I bring my students to understand breathing into the body is to have them lay on a hard surface and take deep belly breathes and bring their attention to where the body makes contact with the floor and they will notice that all parts of the body expand. This idea of breathing way down into the body can be felt.
Lifesavings. I've practiced this style of breathing a lot in meditations and belly breathing has held me back while singing. Thank you for the permission and go ahead to breathe this way instead. This makes actual sense.
OMG! Eric - this was AWESOME!! I had one of those `singing enlightenment` moments after watching your video ;) You finally helped me to understand how to bring together all the elements of breathing technique (rib cage expansion, pelvic floor, belly breathing) TOGETHER. The result? I just watched and followed your video once (just ONCE!) in the morning and went for my regular singing lesson - my coach noticed the difference immediately: `you voice sound really good today, much stronger resonance, ect`. I`m so happy! Definitely buying your internet course Thank you for the wonderful job you do and the passion you show - it`s contagious!
Hey Eric thanks very much for sharing your skills through this video, now to video 2. Im sooo looking forward to be able to say like many on here how much your training has helped them.
Wow, thank you so much for all your videos ! This is answering so many questions that I have. I just wanted to know, do you always breath with this technique (maybe way faster) when you are singing? and do you relax every time before taking your next breath? God bless you!
The goal is to reach a point in which this becomes the way you breathe all the time, passively, even when you're not thinking about it at all - the inhale will just effortlessly be drawn down into the pelvis, lengthening the spine and opening the rib cage. Of course, if you're not singing at that moment, then you can allow your ribs to relax on the exhale. -- Because so many factors (stress, poor posture, injury, etc) can affect breathing, it's wise to practice intentional rooting of the breath every day; I recommend 5-10mins per day, or even just intermittently practicing a couple consciously rooted breaths here and there throughout your day. This exercise still works while sitting at a desk or even while walking down the street. 😀
IMHO, the ladies find the stutter very attractive...
Same here. How are you holding up now?
If u still studder watch asksteve on studdering. Youll be cured
Hey, how did that go for you?
Johnny Boy Great singing involves finding your speaking voice. Wouldn’t be a bad hobby to do at some point.
Leaving a note for my future self (and anyone else who wants to practice using this video):
2:45 intro
3:10 coordination
12:18 exercise
Thanks
I am honestly amazed by your focus! I didn't expect too many views until the normal daylight hours, but some of you are hardcore about your training - I LOVE IT! 🙌🏾
EricArceneaux Good to see you drop a video like it was an album.
LOL! 😏
Eric. Thank you. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and love. I even remembered how funny you are :D! Bless you man!
I'm no expert but Eric has said in previous breathing videos that Dizziness or feeling a little light headed is not uncommon. It's nothing to be alarmed by.

Just a question, you don't have to answer, why did your grandma not allow you to sing
Saaaame and i have a low voice lol, 3 days in and i can get a higher pitch than most of my younger siblings lolol
Wowsers... Sorry you had a shitty Grandma
@@rythandeiveegan6497 because the Grandma was a shithead 🤷
I'm curious myself as well 👀

Excellent teacher. I like the fact you describe concepts with a lot of detail and explain the reasons behind them.
This is the best vocal workouts on breathing I've seen! I've been doing them for weeks and sustaining long notes has never been easier. :)
Hi Eric
Thank you for all your videos, this one is really a great one. One thing if I may add- one way to feel that connection to the root can be done first in a "frog" posture, when you do that twice or three times (inhaling while in that posture) you immediately feel the breath going down to your pelvis, and your hips. Your right I was doing exactly that trying to push it to my toes 😀
This lesson is great. You are a very gifted teacher. Thanks for that gift.
Thank you! 🙏🏾
Hey, Kristin Chenoweth always says "Breathe from your hoohoo", after all! ;)
Thanks as always for these amazing lessons!
So good......

my default way of breathing was upper chest and since watching your videos of singing my normal breathing during the day has me feeling 100 times better. even though i cant hold a note or sing just doing these exercises alone have me feeling great.
These sessions are fabulous, thank you! Not only informative and focused but make you smile and laugh too. I use my voice in teaching viola and violin and performing and find the exercises have helped me.
How do we keep that space without tensing our abs?
This teaching is so powerful thank you Eric

I love elliot hulse! thanks for the great video, I'll definitely keep practicing
Please continue posting tutorials I can't afford your training and also can u try to make a play list of what beginners should learn first
Thank you so much for this thorough explanation. The more I did the breathing, the better it felt! This is such valuable information for singers!
I have to tell you this @Eric that your exercises have really helped me build and strengthen my voice, to be able to belt out for like couple of hours.. its amazing how easily you explain the workouts and it does help a lot.
Best of the online courses i have ever seen ..

I didn't mean to be this early but since I'm here I'll learn lol
Nothing wrong with being early 😄
Working on my breathing while studying for finals. lol Your timing is perfect!
right! lol
Lifesavings. I've practiced this style of breathing a lot in meditations and belly breathing has held me back while singing. Thank you for the permission and go ahead to breathe this way instead. This makes actual sense.
Wow ! I appreciate this time that you spend it on making the world better, Peace
I love your videos Eric! Thanks for your lessons.
Thanks Eric, very helpful! I feel so amazingly relaxed and in tune with myself. ❤️🙏🏼
OMG! Eric - this was AWESOME!! I had one of those `singing enlightenment` moments after watching your video ;)
You finally helped me to understand how to bring together all the elements of breathing technique (rib cage expansion, pelvic floor, belly breathing) TOGETHER. The result? I just watched and followed your video once (just ONCE!) in the
morning and went for my regular singing lesson - my coach noticed the difference immediately: `you voice sound really
good today, much stronger resonance, ect`. I`m so happy! Definitely buying your internet course
Thank you for the wonderful job you do and the passion you show - it`s contagious!
Hey Eric thanks very much for sharing your skills through this video, now to video 2. Im sooo looking forward to be able to say like many on here how much your training has helped them.
The art of breathing back there i will buy it and read it soon
EricArceneaux Thank you so much for taking the time to reply so quickly ! this helps me so much!! all the best! ☺
These videos have really helped thanks! I've learnt really good techniques which are going to help me with my singing exam.
