Some things never change. About 20 years ago I worked for this lot. Every yard was the same - filthy! Muck and rubbish everywhere. After 2 days I walked. I have never bought food from them again.
You do get a lot of crap in the yard over christmas, its what happens, if the cages of rubbish are wet then you usually dont pick them up as it creates a slippery wet surface in the trailer, which creates a slip hazard when reloading back at the warehouse with the loader.
It appears to me that the store has filled the best approach area with plastic boxes, and left a very poor area directly in line with the bay. Approaching from the gate with the bay on your right the best approach would seem to be to go straight past the building with the bay to the right and then hook round the corner on your good side. The rubbish which is filling that area should be moved and placed elsewhere. It doesn't seem to be stacked very high either so is taking up much more room than necessary. I would approach your driving assessors and insist the area is cleaned up. Get other drivers together and involve any union rep available on the basis of safety. That store is a disgrace.
I do the same job for Tesco and thankfully being a frozen depot we don't take deckers to stores only trunking as we only deliver 6 - 14 cages to each store. There are exceptions for massive stores but I can count them on one hand. I've lost count how many times I have said I'm glad I have a single because of limited room.
These stores love to make days fun for hgv drivers, they make us an obstacle course in the yard and then play hide and seek when we need to get tipped.
Its not so much the amount of rubbish as the way it's left. Closing the gaps would make a huge difference. But then ya'll have never worked for the Coop huh?

The height of the trailer has nothing to do to do with the room needed they’re all the same length un less your talking about a 10 one.
@@C9OLB No but a decker turns like an old man with it's small tyres.

Typical store delivery, crap everywhere in the yard would be alot easier if they tidied it up a bit, good bit of reversing mate well done 👍👍

Why they don't tidy the yard?
I dont know
They just stack more and more shit in the yard but drivers keep getting it on the bay so they think well there must be plenty of room 😅

In a word - laziness.
