Oops, I misspelled ASSESS. My bad. 🤣 Not kidding, I am dyslexic. Which is funny because I address it in my ebook. Sorry for my poor proof reading mistake.
How do I get started I’m middle-aged I don’t have good credit and I want to get out of the city I live in Central Florida what do you suggest what are the best states I don’t get a foot of snow
Back in 2010 I told a "friend" I wanted to buy some land and build a shed/tiny home and make it solar-powered and grow my own food. He said, "Man, why do you want to be a hermit?". Then I second guessed and doubted myself and ended up not doing it. I regret now telling that guy (I don't even talk to him anymore). Be careful who you tell your plans to. Remember that some people want you to do well, but some of them never want you to be better off than them. Don't let anyone talk you out of it.
Well Teka I would flip my mindset..... Instead of telling people, "I want to do this" or "I'm thinking of doing this" or "I have this cool idea of doing this"..... INSTEAD tell everyone, "I AM GOING TO BUY SOME LAND, build a mortgage free and debt free life, and grow and raise my own food because someday people are going to need a source for healthy nutrient dense food.... AND I AM GOING TO DO IT!!!!!" Make that commitment out loud to everyone you know. That way THEY will hold you accountable for you to achieve that dream. And then write it down on a piece of paper, and tape it to your bathroom mirror where you brush your teeth every morning and night. And WATCH!!!! It will begin to happen because it is there in front of you waiting for you to take action!
I know one thing, starting to get on land or homestead or be self sufficient whatever you want to call it isn't easy. Long story short I created a 3-5 year plan and ran it by my wife. Already saved for a modest piece of land at this point. Bought the land cash and started to pay for things one item at a time. Got the well last year septic and foundation this year. It can be done in stages. If all goes as planned house next year. Along with first animals. I'll be building it myself. Maybe you'll see us here lol. Lots of work, but nothing worth anything is easy! Even once the house is built then starts the next 3-5 year plan of infrastructure. Work in stages, it's so much easier and less of a financial burden all at once.
I'm a fan of the channel generally, but this video is extremely misleading and click-baity. This video does not at any point teach you how to do anything "with no money". It's basically just telling you that you're going to need it in order to Homestead, so you need to start looking for ways to earn it and keep it while you are making your plans and learning how you want to spend it. This felt more like an infomercial for the book and abundance+ than a video that was trying to provide actual value. I offer this feedback in the hopes that the channel doesn't continue too far down that path, as I certainly don't have an interest in watching more videos of that nature and I'm sure I'm not alone. Hope it's helpful, and I look forward to more of the videos I've enjoyed in the past.
Hi there Steph, are you willing to have a conversation here in the comments to discover more of what you are saying? I TRULY do want to help!!! I know you say “click-baity”, and I have thoughts but I would just want to make sure that you are willing to discuss it. Because many viewers make a comment and then never check back. 😁 Again, I REALLY REALLY do want to help people!!! Which I was hoping that being the reason for this video, and I am very sorry that you did not find it helpful. But let’s dive deeper if possible!
@@BetterTogetherLife My problem is that this is very generalized advice. Reduce debt, increase income, search for deals, make a plan. It is helpful, just it's so basic. There's nothing in there that is really specified towards homesteading. Granted, it is good advice, it is just general advice. There really isn't any steps on how to do it.
I LOVE THIS!!!! Ok so Iron Man (can I call you Tony? Or maybe Stark???). 🤣 Ok so now we are getting somewhere. So you say “There isn’t any real advise on how to do it.” May I ask you, “how to do what?” Homestead? Like advise on how to grow food? Or to maximize the output of your chicken flock to get the most eggs? Or how to raise pastured pigs to get delicious bacon? Or are you saying that there is no advise on “how to buy land?”
Ps….. I absolutely LOVE to discuss these things!!!!! For real, I would love to offer a group coaching session through maybe Zoom or something like that to better work out these amazing thoughts. I am sure that you can understand that I can’t cover EVERYTHING in a single video…. Which I did say in the video, right? I said that “I can’t cover all of the details, this will be a basic and general discussion of basic life skills. And if there are people that like this video I can GO DEEPER.” Which there are many people that say they want me to go deeper into this topic.
@@BetterTogetherLife There isn't really any advice on how to do anything in this video, that is the problem. It's like those motivational speech videos that goes on without really saying anything. As for the bottom comment, yes. A deeper dive into any of these subjects would be great instead of a generalized video like this one in my honest opinion. There are so many general advice videos out there, but so few that actually dive deep into the actual process of achieving these goals and spreading information on how to do it. I think that would be great, but just my opinion.
We managed to snag 10 acres for $60K because it needs some clearing. It’s really not bad. We are clearing 1 acre to start and building the house, and then I’ll be using goats and a chainsaw to clear the rest!
@@BetterTogetherLife yeah they clean up brush and kudzu around here and taste very good. Unfortunately in order to get the land, we had to agree to some covenants, which I didn’t want to do, but had to. Now I’m trying to get the people around me to sign a petition to end the covenants from 1972. They actually specified no swine, so I have to overturn that. What’s the point of being in county if you cant do what you want.
These are great tips! We did some of those over the years and we were able to get CC debt free. Our story if somewhat similar. Selling our house and living in I’m our RV really helped us save! Minimalistic life approach has been a thing for us now. Looking forward to reading the book! Great job guys! You have accomplished so much! 👏🏽💞
Here are my cliff notes on How to buy land, get out of the city & homstead (without money) Step 1. have $20,000 Step 2. double that Step 3. double that Step 4. buy my book Step 5. start homesteading
Yeah you forgot a lot of things assessing current skills getting out of debt there's a few more steps there need to update your Cliff notes LoL 😅 It's good information brother I watch Stephen Graham too
Great video guys!! Man we definitely went out of order on a few of these but the Lord works all things for our good and His ways definitely are higher! THANKFULLY! But these steps are for sure the best order to get you to abundant homesteading living right off the bat! Starting off with debt or with a Willy nilly budgeting mentality , or without skills will set you back and hold up your dream in the long run! Thanks for sharing all you've learned and how far you've come!! ❤️❤️
I couldn't finish it. A how to move to a homestead without money video and the first step is to get money?! It was a little insulting, to say the least.
Well, that’s a bummer. Because I made this video to help those that have no money. I wish you would have finished it and applied the rest of the steps. Please go and download my FREE ebook “50 Homestead Money Makers” to give you some more ideas. Unfortunately, I can not want YOUR success more than you want it yourself.
Please do more videos like this! We just purchased 5 acres for 5000. Which is a very good deal and I know it's great land because it was my moms at one time.
Hi Heather, my I also ask a favor. Would you mind commenting on some of the other comments here and giving your thoughts on why this video helped? I just want to help as many people return to the land. But I think perhaps I presented the video in a way that some are not fully understanding. Thanks a bunch!!!!!
Thank you i need to hear this. Been homesteading for 20 years. Went back to work and lost my drive. Now got layed off and looking for land. Selling my rentals that i required and use the money. I have been building up my homestead.paying off debt. But i am worried that i am not going fast enough.
Thank you SOOOOO MUCH for saying this!!!! I really appreciate it. This video hasn’t exactly been what everyone was thinking, but I am so so glad that you found it helpful!! 😁😁😁
Bought my 17 acres three years ago for under 9k an acre and now it is going for over 25k an acre in my area of North Texas. It's crazy the amount of people in the last year that have moved out to the country.
Exactly why we want out of North Texas now. Its ruined. Been here my whole life and now cant wait to get out. We are looking for land somewhere else too.
waoh. i had to stop and comment once i saw the shout out to graham.. its crazy how things come full circle in so many ways.. his ideals helped me save my first thousands. i was smart enough to have good credit and get a decent job going. buy a house... but he got me saving. investing. making money 7 different ways... then life happened and my relationship fell apart and ive sold out my half of the house to her.. now here i am going back to my roots dreaming about homesteading. debating on buying land with my new house money.. all that ive saved up for a future that is so far now from what will happen now... i can wallow in it. or i can stop and realize.. i deserve a plot of land somewhere. keep a foot in the real estate investments and invest in my own mental well being.
Absolutely Josh!! You’re doing it man. It all starts with a goal. Just like Graham was able to help you get those first steps going, you can also take the next necessary steps. Have you checked out my book yet? GetOffYourTail.com? I think you’ll find it helpful to get you onto a homestead!! We also have a totally free version at that same link. It’s called 50 Homestead Money Makers. You’ll like that too.
Don't forget also about creating cooperatives with your farming neighbor. Texas has a bunch of resources on free legal advice on developing small scale cooperatives and grow your market for your product.
Love this video. My partner and I are implementing things to get where we want to be and are giving ourselves 2022 to prepare, get out of debt, build our emergency fund, research where we want to be, make affirmations of what our future will be and learning all we can to get there! I'll be grabbing your book to help guide thru this journey!!!! Beautiful family and gratitude for sharing!
Love these tips! We are currently debt free and are in the process of looking for affordable land. Side note for Kelly - Veronica bought some essential oils through Doterra and used her as a reference. Hope that helps!
@@BetterTogetherLife hi there I’m locking to purchase 5 to 10 acer land , Planing to breed exotic birds , many different breeds , medium to large parrot 🦜, I’m fully experienced , there is a huge Profits in there , I don’t know where is better option, California or Texas , I rather to be in Texas , but not to hot area though , If you can consult with me , willing to pay for your time also , Which county you stablished your farm ? Maybe I can look in to it
I bought a run down home on 2.91 acres. I'm out of debt and working from home but trying to work for my self. Started RUclips channel. The one thing I have to do is put a plan in place. Now I know why I'm not getting to place I like to be. Going have to make some changes. Thanks for sharing.
Starting a new career just so I can save money for land and get out of my debt. I have a plan!! I even have a name for my farm. Just starting in my backyard for now
I am farm/house sitting and I love being on the farm. My brother wants to purchase property in the future so I can do farming and live there for the rest of my days.
I love your guys channel! I just stumbled upon it doing some research as my wife and I are planning to do exactly what your talking about! Thank you for the content that you are putting out. Its helpful and informative and entertaining!! Just picked up the book as well! Thank you!
Thank you SOOOOOOO MUCH!!!! Wow I am just noticing how many comments I was never notified of for this video. THANK YOU for checking out the book, please let me know how I can help!!!
When you bought you homestead, did you buy it with a mortgage or save up for it? I’m a college student and want to homestead. I won’t have very much money, but am hoping I’ll make it through college debt free. I will for the first two year and am hoping I will save enough for the 3rd and 4th year. Homesteading is my dream it’s just hard to do while also paying for my college classes.
How to get land with out money.. Make money lol.. Most are working 10 hours a day and paying bills with kids and have no money left over to save money. Something breaks and there goes the credit card payment up. Dog gets sick 800 dollars out the door. New tax bill comes in 4000 gone. It just never ends.
Nope Madman..... rewatch the part of the video. Sorry, but you misheard what I said. But thats ok, because there is a HUGE amount of people that missed it. In fact hey, if you go watch it, and come back and comment exactly what I said and that you now understand the full reason of what I was meaning...... Then I will gift you for FREE my $20 eBook, "Get Off Your Tail & Homestead, How to Quit the Rat Race and Reclaim Your FREEDOM!" Challenge!!!
Definitely would like to know more brother. I just started looking at owner financed land. I found a few kinda cheap considering. There is 7 acres here in northern North Carolina for 19k. Raw land. Thank you for the content brother.
There is land in west texas selling for $300/acer. You can do an owner finance, then get a loan to build the house. That same loan can pay off the original finance.
My wife and I have toyed with buying land for the last couple of years. We left the missions field in 2020 because of, well you know...and we now have two kiddos. We both finally landed decent jobs with decent income. Luckily we have no debt except our car and house. We have about $5,000 saved up so far. My goal isn't really agricultural, but we definitely will do something farm/ranch related. We both got hands on training in 2019 with goats, chickens, & pigs. We're tired of the suburban life and want more space and privacy. I think we will start by getting land and using recreationally. I also really want something to pass on to my kids and their kids.
Most entrepreneurs live their dreams while carrying debt. Some risk is necessary to live your dreams. You need to decide how much risk you are willing to take.
Awesome Michael!! You should register for our free webinar tomorrow talking about things JUST LIKE THIS!! Bettertogetherhomestead.com/webinar12pm Bettertogetherhomestead.com/webinar6pm
Hi, Better Together Homesteaders!! I would not tell anyone I was doing that. If you tell people you are going to be a target. I do not agree with this advice. I can understand others will hold you accountable, but that could also put you and your family in harm's way. This is one thing I would not do, just in case. Cover all the bases. Thank you for your videos.
Truly an inspiration to me and ally. This video and many other of your videos has helped in our current search and negotiations for land. Very informative! Thanks beau!
I highly recommend buying land as far north as your goals allow. It's so much cheaper to buy land in the northeast than the central south. The problem, of course, is the cold for plants and animals. The second is property taxes. But other than that, it is worth it to stay north if you can
Can't say that Graham stephen was helpful at all in that video. That was not for people with real problems. That was for able bodied single people who never had enough of a clue to save or invest and never hustled enough to get some extra income. That was pretty... well it wasn't good. But he's obviously a sales and PR type; act excited and get lots of viewers and be super confident and charismatic no matter what. Who cares if you're actually helping or hurting. Who cares if you're saying anything worthwhile. I grew up with the world's best salesman for a dad. He had better ethics than most so at least he sold something real that was a real benefit to the people who bought it. But.... Well I'm mostly immune to a lot of versions of BS, especially the empty BS like just telling people what they should have been taught by the time they were 12. Hence why I tend to not click on the "youtube face" thumbnails that half the good homesteading channels have degraded themselves to doing now instead of being the best they can be with good content. I'm looking for a real life.
@@BetterTogetherLife I’ve just had a set back in my plans due to a huge transition in my life right now, but your video was posted in the perfect time to keep that motivation going
Oh wow, THANK YOU so much!!!! Some have said that they didn’t like the video because it was basic information. But YES!! I promise I will go down deep in the future!! Thank you AJ!!!
Yes. What type of land should one purchase? Should one grow food or have live stock ? What kind of loan did you go with ? A government agriculture loan ? Or through a credit union ? There are lots of thing you left out. That are important
your videos opened my eyes and I'm starting to write down my dream and start executing it now rather than later i have my goals now time to make it happen
Thomas this is AMAZING!!!!! WOW! Thank you so much for letting us know. You would do great in our Get Off Your Tail & Homestead course! www.bettertogetherhomestead.com/GOYTwait
Oh wow Alex thanks a bunch man! You get the video then. Take a look at the comments here, so many people have a “victim mentality” that they weren’t able to hear my #1 advice. They hear it wrong and just don’t know how to get past that block. But YOU got this!!!!!
Yea, west Texas is cheap for a reason unfortunately. Sorry. We would not buy land in west Texas. Maybe for just an Air BNB. But not to live there FULLTIME.
Well, Shaq. Wealthy people save 75% because the CAN😂 Poor people, or just people like me, use 75% on house, power and food, before even thinking about saving anything at all. If you’re lucky, saving 25% (or 50 as shown by Shaq) is more than most could ever save every month. 25% saving is a whole lot, I’d say.🤷🏻♂️
Not sure what video you were thinking of, because HERE is the video I have linked in the Graham video. It’s still live: ruclips.net/video/tD3BpmsPPjE/видео.html
Not Graham Stephen, he made his money on RUclips, not using any of the methods he professes. Read Rich Dad, Poor Dad, it's got good stuff in it. Take a course on lawn care, window washing, car detailing, etc that includes mentorship.
Graham made a ton of money from real estate before RUclips. Rich Dad Poor Dad, he has some sound stuff. Like, "pay yourself first". His quadrant system of money is so good. Buy an asset FIRST, before expenses. Sure....you can totally do side hustles like that. But if you're going that direction why not become a welder or plumber? And make a ton of money.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 No joke, I just had one for dinner! Farm fresh egg right out of the chicken on a sourdough slice of bread that just came out of the oven. And now, we can add homemade butter to the list!
Great information but just an FYI, *Assess is spelled ”Assess” not “Access”. …Access is pronounced “aksess” and is used like this: “to access water, you must dig a well”. You mean “to assess a situation, you must view all information.”
Oh thank you!!!!! This video is for guys and gals like you Thomas, those that aren’t afraid of the hard work it takes. Kelly and I started this journey with no money back in 2008. Making $30k with $30k in debt. It took us 10 long years of intense focus to get to our homestead. IF WE CAN DO IT, YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!!!!! 😁😁😁
I agree, that's one of the reasons I am looking outside TX now. Anyway, it's becoming like California ( traffic wise ) . So, not worth living in TX anymore
I didn’t. You can’t buy land with no money. You can’t buy anything really without money. In this video I teach you about “the skill of HOW TO MAKE MONEY.”
We uprooted our entire lives to Texas to buy lan. Just the time it took to TRY to find a property in this market ruined our savings after making the move. There is 4 bare acres for sale right down the road from us for sale for $500K. A few years ago, it would have sold for $100K or less. It's insane and disgusting here in the new California
I should add, we are looking in East Texas, by Tawokani and Fork lakes... there's raw land out there, about 20 acres for 100k prices. Some above, some below
@@suburbangardenpermaculture3117 I agree, that's one of the reasons I am looking outside TX now. Anyway, it's becoming like California ( traffic wise ) . So, not worth living in TX anymore
Moving in silence is best, so I disgree with you about telling everyone your planes. Not everyone wants to see you do good, and I truly believe that energy transference is real. People would be surprised at how many people want to see them fail. The only person I tell all my dreams and aspirations too, is God.
Hmmm, well I 100% agree with you on telling God. But not sure how it will work out for you if you don’t have accountability with other humans. Yes Jesus is both God and human. But I just don’t know if I can agree with your opinion. But I do wish you ALL THE LUCK!!!! And please do keep us updated on your progress!
Lol here's how to start a homestead if you have no money: so you start off with no money, and then what you do is you go and get a bunch of money. Got it
Nope. You have a victim mentality. Sorry. Go back and rewatch what I said. #1 is NOT “go get a bunch of money”. Sorry, but you misheard what you WANTED to hear. Because what I said, is way more challenging than “go get money”.
These are all really great points but do you have any tips for anyone looking to move from one state to another and start a homestead? We are committed to moving to TX from MA because Texas aligns with our ideals and beliefs as a family.
Oh that’s so awesome, thank you for your excellent comment and question! 1) have you ASSESSED? Finances, family, timeline, etc 2) have you PLANNED? Meaning do you have an idea of where you want to move to? (Texas is basically our own country!) Do you have a job lined up or can you work from a remote location as long as you have an internet connection? I’d be glad to help!
@@BetterTogetherLife we have been planning for little while now but our current living arrangement isn't working for us so we are trying to make that "leap of faith" you referred to sooner rather than later. We have money saved up (is it enough? Theres no way of knowing at the stage we're currently in). As a fallback plan I would need to find a job for income and Ive been applying to places down there based on my skillset in hopes this would be the quickest route. Finding a job is really what is holding us back right now. As far as family: we dont have any relatives or even friends in Texas (lol). As it stands right now I have been looking at the Northeastern part of Texas for the greener backdrop etc. But we do not have our heart set in any particular region so if you have suggestions or advice we're all ears. Also thank you for responding this is tremendously helpful and is a confidence booster in this endeavor. God bless
Of course! Glad to help however I can. I am not as familiar with the North East part of the state. Mainly Houston, Dallas, Central, and then we’ve traveled to El Paso several times. But I am sure the North East is amazing, and possibly less expensive. I think you are doing the right thing of focusing on finding a job being #1! I can’t lie saying that YES, you’ll have to take the Leap of Faith….. but yet I don’t believe I would take that leap without at least a good paying solid JOB lined up as your safety net. Especially for how far you are moving. MA to Texas is a long way. So I would say that you need more of a safety net vs what we had. Moving from the suburbs of Houston going only a few hours to central Texas (where we are still within driving distance of the area we know very well). So yes, I am excited for y’all! But with this big of a move you’ll need to really have your PLANNING stage on point. But you CAN do it!!!!!!!
@@BetterTogetherLife thank you again for replying. I'll be sure to keep you posted on how we're doing and if not....ask me about it here and there to keep me motivated. Cheers
I am a 50yr old single lady. I drive a semi long haul as an owner/operator. I make really good money (6 figures this year), and finally debt free, but due to covid, i am supporting my 28 yr old son, who's partially disabled, till he gets his ssi. Also supporting my older sister who's on a fixed income and can barely afford life. Also paying on a car that isn't mine for a friend. I have no personal outstanding debt, but because I'm the sole provider for 1 other household, and helping 2 more to get by, my dream has almost gone by the wayside completely. I have an rv i am turning into a tiny home as my temporary space, and i found some 5 acre plots for less than 100k. The problem im having is finding time to work on my dream of homesteading. I am out on the road for 2-3 months and only get 3 to 5 days off. More time off means i lose revenue and cant pay my truck payment. I guess what im asking is how to build a homestead 1. Alone. 2. While working an outside job. 3. Alone?
Hmmm, these are excellent questions and tough ones for sure. 1) I hate to say this…. But Dave Ramsey would say that you have a “boundary issue”. Meaning that you are helping too many people too soon in your financial journey. You are GIVING LIKE NO ONE ELSE, before you have been able to take care of yourself. My wife Kelly would say, “there is a reason that in an airplane they tell you to put on YOUR oxygen mask first.” 2) Homesteading alone is going to be tough, there is no denying that. Kelly has been out of town for our business this week, so I have been taking care of 4 kiddos, working, and taking care of the homestead. And I am exhausted! 3) I would not worry so much of working on your homestead…..just limit the number of people you are financially helping, work as much as you can, SAVE EVERYTHING, and then find a property that fits your lifestyle. 4) THEN, and only then do you need to begin working on the homestead dream! Hope some of this helps!
While debt can be bad debt is also a good thing it's too much debt that is the killer u need debt to build credit and you need credit to do most things
What are your thoughts or opinions on building up a supply of neccessary tools/ building supplies/ fencing etc. While I'm working on finding/securing land that way i dont have to try to buy it all after i start paying on a mortgage? I already have a storage rental unit i can put it all into. Or is it better to wait till i have the property and decide then what i will need?? I thought maybe having some of it on hand upon purchasing the land would save time in getting started. Plus, i can buy some building supplies a little at a time so i dont spend too much out of each paycheck. Other people are telling me not to stockpile. I have been trying to get my dream started for 4 years now and keep hitting discouraging problems/ setbacks along the way that stop me. Family says im too old to start a homestead now because its too much work. I see that as a challenge. Lol.
ABSOLUTELY!!!!! Now the only issue would be storing it all. Which is super easy once you have land…..because you then become a hoarder! 🤣🤣 Oh you said you have a storage unit. I guess the other issue would be to transport it. But you could just get a big rental moving truck. Maybe THIS! If you find a GREAT DEAL….. absolutely buy it!!!!!
I'm 7 minutes into this video and all I have heard so far is that I need to get money and not have debt and then assess assess, assess and plan plan. Not for nothing man but all of this is the obvious stuff.
In the kindest way possible, man, I have to say that you’re missing the point. If it’s obvious to you and you have plans to actually build a homestead, this video was never intended for you. But if you’re a person with debt and little to no income, you don’t need to GET money, you need to learn how to make more of it. You need to shift your mindset from being a victim who is at the mercy of an employer to someone who busts tail to create side income and pursues their actual goal. . There’s a good chance many people would rather sit and watch other people do things and then comment with complaints rather than do the thing themselves. I want for viewers to be inspired to think differently and make change in their own lives. . If that’s not what you got from this video, I’m truly sorry. And I do hope you find content that meets your needs.
If you are starting with NO MONEY, then the first step you need to take is LEARN HOW TO MAKE MONEY. It is very bizarre to me that so many people have an issue with this. It is a giant block in our societies brains.
How is it misleading? What did you expect for me to say? “Go get free money from the government?” The title is: If you want to buy land, but you don’t have any money…. Then this is what you need to do” Was the information helpful for you??
@@BetterTogetherLife the clip art expressly says: "Buy Land Homestead: With No Money". The title also has "with no money" in it. Not sure what you're missing.
@@BetterTogetherLife with a clip art you have, I had no idea what to expect. Maybe a lease arrangement that accepted trade of livestock or produce, a co-op of some sort, getting romote land that is somehow free? No idea. That was why I clicked on the video.
But are you offended that the first step when you HAVE NO MONEY, truly to be learning how to MAKE MONEY?? There are no free routes in life. Even those stimulus checks that went out have a cost….. that money was stolen from our children and grand children. And I did address it in the video, I believe I said something like “yea this is stupid. For someone that doesn’t have any money that the first step is to LEARN HOW TO MAKE MONEY.” It’s a hard truth. And also…. I said that this video are for those out there that are willing to do ANYTHING to make this dream happen. Being upset about a videos title doesn’t move you closer to your dream….. it only moves you further away.
Well, I don’t want to be a “smarty pants”….. but we LEARNED how to make money. 1) In 2008 we figured out how to keep a steady job for my wife. It paid $30k, but we were in debt $30k. 2) we lived on NOTHING! No joke I can not eat a black bean and cheese taco anymore….. because it tastes like DEBT! And that is what we lived off of. Dave Ramsey’s baby steps to get out of debt. 3) we began to grow my video production business. We grew it from $0 to $20k, then to $30k, then to $40k, then to $50k, etc 4) We never raised our monthly living expenses until we were out of debt, and then once we were out we SAVED SAVED SAVED for a 20% down payment on a suburban home. 5) Kelly was fired from her job (at a church!!!). But we had built the video business up enough to hold its own and then we bought our Houston home. We did a 20 year loan in order to pay off the mortgage way faster! 6) Then I got a nice paying job at that same church ironically so Kelly could be a stay at home mom. And I still run the video business on the side to make more money, to save more money. 7) Then in 2013, we read the Mother Earth News article and at the same time we started our doTERRA business! THIS was everything. Have residual income had been the dream of mine since I was 17 years old. 8) We built up doTERRA, while also getting raises in my church video job, while also working HARD to make more money with videos on the side. 9) In 2015 God called me to leave my church video job, doTERRA was paying about $40k. But we had saved up a decent amount of money. BUT THEN….. we bought our 7.5 acre property. We had to take that leap of faith to buy the land. It was scary. By 2016 we depleted almost all of our savings. 10) But remember that I had learned HOW TO MAKE MONEY. So I took my new asset of land and of a dream to homestead and live in a TINY HOUSE into a way to monetize the dream. We started our RUclips channel and our Shed to House Facebook group began making more money again. 11) Sold our suburban home, had equity in it. Filmed everything and moved into our Shed to House. But it still wasn’t easy, we got back into debt and it got scary again, but I had already LEARNED HOW TO MAKE MONEY. So every time the Lord blessed my hard work ethic and got us out of the hole. 12) Now we have more freedom and money than we had ever had!
@@ThePathOfLeastResistanc I’m not jealous. He says buy this buy that and doesn’t explain where he gets the money. That the most important question. Your just an idiot
That sounds crazy enough to work, for some. I wish something like that could work for me, hell I'm homeless right now! Trying to save first month and security deposit with no car or job.
Well Theodore, you do have something that our grandparents would die for…..the internet! Do you have a smart phone or just free internet from a community computer?
Oops, I misspelled ASSESS. My bad. 🤣 Not kidding, I am dyslexic. Which is funny because I address it in my ebook.
Sorry for my poor proof reading mistake.
😂❤️❤️❤️
It could've been autocorrect...? lol
My tablet does that to me, changes my words to something else even when there's no typo. It's annoying! lol
Suburban family… stop and change your thumbnail. Then your views could be a bit more accurate.
I have been trying to do this starting to get desperate
AND I AM GOING TO DO IT!!!!!"
Make that commitment out loud to everyone you know. That way THEY will hold you accountable for you to achieve that dream.
And then write it down on a piece of paper, and tape it to your bathroom mirror where you brush your teeth every morning and night. And WATCH!!!! It will begin to happen because it is there in front of you waiting for you to take action!
They will still say the same thing lol.
Don’t let other people determine your dreams.
So true
Great comment! Thanks for sharing!
This is how I was thinking about doing it
I hope the gubmint doesn't start sending you tax bills on your own well water, like they have in my state. Things are only getting nuttier.
I would love to see that plan you created so ill get some idea of where to start and how to do it. Feeling lost
No.1 recommended video fr!!! This is sooooo good thank you❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Again, I REALLY REALLY do want to help people!!!
Ok so now we are getting somewhere. So you say “There isn’t any real advise on how to do it.”
May I ask you, “how to do what?”
Homestead?
And if there are people that like this video I can GO DEEPER.”
Which there are many people that say they want me to go deeper into this topic.
“How to buy land with no money”
Step 1: Get Money
Were you expecting a fairy wand that shot our unicorns with rainbow poop? 🌈💩
Nothing is free, so you will always have to start with STEP ONE!
Clickbait
Just the unfortunate truth, the alternative is warfare lol
We managed to snag 10 acres for $60K because it needs some clearing. It’s really not bad. We are clearing 1 acre to start and building the house, and then I’ll be using goats and a chainsaw to clear the rest!
NICE!!!! Huge congrats!! Kelly and I just yesterday were talking about getting goats! 🤣🤣
Congrats!! What state?
@@BetterTogetherLife yeah they clean up brush and kudzu around here and taste very good. Unfortunately in order to get the land, we had to agree to some covenants, which I didn’t want to do, but had to. Now I’m trying to get the people around me to sign a petition to end the covenants from 1972. They actually specified no swine, so I have to overturn that. What’s the point of being in county if you cant do what you want.

Oh man 😳
That's huge!
Here are my cliff notes on
How to buy land, get out of the city & homstead (without money)
Step 1. have $20,000
Step 2. double that
Step 3. double that
Step 4. buy my book
Step 5. start homesteading
No, not really
Yeah you forgot a lot of things assessing current skills getting out of debt there's a few more steps there need to update your Cliff notes LoL 😅
It's good information brother I watch Stephen Graham too
Oh wow that is so AWESOME Brian, THANK YOU!!!!!
Absolutely!!! Thank y’all so much for watching and for your amazing comment!!!!
I couldn't finish it. A how to move to a homestead without money video and the first step is to get money?! It was a little insulting, to say the least.
Well, that’s a bummer. Because I made this video to help those that have no money. I wish you would have finished it and applied the rest of the steps.

You shouldn't have paid for land, land cannot be bought or paid for ...look up Ron Gibson on RUclips.
Thank you i need to hear this. Been homesteading for 20 years. Went back to work and lost my drive. Now got layed off and looking for land. Selling my rentals that i required and use the money. I have been building up my homestead.paying off debt. But i am worried that i am not going fast enough.

Bought my 17 acres three years ago for under 9k an acre and now it is going for over 25k an acre in my area of North Texas. It's crazy the amount of people in the last year that have moved out to the country.
Absolutely!!!! Which is why I am encouraging people that WANT to do this, to start planning NOW!
Y’all are amazing!!!
Man seeing these prices a year ago and seeing them now is crazy. At least near Houston I can’t find anything decent under 200
Exactly why we want out of North Texas now.

Definitely would like to know more brother. I just started looking at owner financed land. I found a few kinda cheap considering. There is 7 acres here in northern North Carolina for 19k. Raw land. Thank you for the content brother.
Wow 19k that amazing. Good luck man
There is land in west texas selling for $300/acer. You can do an owner finance, then get a loan to build the house. That same loan can pay off the original finance.
Have you ever been to west Texas?

Oh really?? Wow I’m sorry. I found that video of his extremely helpful to work on your mindset of making more money.
Sorry about that.

If that Graham Stephan video is so great, why did he take it down?
Whhhhaaaaaa????? He took it down? I need to go check it out.
That would stink!
Not sure what video you were thinking of, because HERE is the video I have linked in the Graham video. It’s still live:
ruclips.net/video/tD3BpmsPPjE/видео.html

Finances, family, timeline, etc
2) have you PLANNED?
Cheers
I’m glad you asked this question. I’m committed to moving from TX to TN and was wondering the same thing.
Thanks for another great video
Thank you Brian!!
My wife Kelly would say, “there is a reason that in an airplane they tell you to put on YOUR oxygen mask first.”
2) Homesteading alone is going to be tough, there is no denying that.
I need to do this
You totally GET IT!!!!!!
And you can do it!!
@@BetterTogetherLife just have to figure out how.
Oh you said you have a storage unit.
“Common sense is not very Common”
Great video! Very sound advice!!
Awesome, thank you so much Bill!!!!
I thought this was the video about not having money
You gotta go back and watch #1. Many people miss what I said because they have a mental block.
Remove WITH NO MONEY from the title. Why click bait?
If you are starting with NO MONEY, then the first step you need to take is LEARN HOW TO MAKE MONEY.
It is very bizarre to me that so many people have an issue with this. It is a giant block in our societies brains.
Good to mention first this only applies to the 350 million people living in USA...not the other 6.5 billion.
So... You do need money... Very misleading Clip Art and title dude...
Love what you do, but this is dishonest clickbait.
How is it misleading? What did you expect for me to say?
“Go get free money from the government?”
The title is: If you want to buy land, but you don’t have any money…. Then this is what you need to do”
Was the information helpful for you??
@@BetterTogetherLife the clip art expressly says: "Buy Land Homestead: With No Money". The title also has "with no money" in it. Not sure what you're missing.
@@BetterTogetherLife with a clip art you have, I had no idea what to expect. Maybe a lease arrangement that accepted trade of livestock or produce, a co-op of some sort, getting romote land that is somehow free? No idea. That was why I clicked on the video.
@@BetterTogetherLife your title says with no money.
Hi.... Thank you for showing your video 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 🏡🎥👍👍👍
Great topic today!
Sweet, thank you Spencer!
Such a great video! Thank you!
Where did you get the money to buy everything
Well, I don’t want to be a “smarty pants”….. but we LEARNED how to make money.
1) In 2008 we figured out how to keep a steady job for my wife. It paid $30k, but we were in debt $30k.
2) we lived on NOTHING! No joke I can not eat a black bean and cheese taco anymore….. because it tastes like DEBT! And that is what we lived off of. Dave Ramsey’s baby steps to get out of debt.
3) we began to grow my video production business. We grew it from $0 to $20k, then to $30k, then to $40k, then to $50k, etc
4) We never raised our monthly living expenses until we were out of debt, and then once we were out we SAVED SAVED SAVED for a 20% down payment on a suburban home.
Maybe you should focus on how people can make the money first. Otherwise your story is irrelevant and arrogant to most
@@nightskyabc he’s not being arrogant smh you’re jealous
@@ThePathOfLeastResistanc
I’m not jealous. He says buy this buy that and doesn’t explain where he gets the money. That the most important question.
Your just an idiot
What a genuinely nice guy
oh wow, THANKS!!!!
I also need people to give their experiences when starting post pandemic. 2013 is a lifetime away
2013??
But yes I agree, it is a different life for those that didn’t buy land before 2020.
@@BetterTogetherLife I have a smart phone.
And yes, my parents would have killed to have it.
