  • Sure, you can cruise down the boardwalk with headphones on or have a little white wire across your neck and torso, but what about if your sunglasses had built-in speakers and connected via Bluetooth? Yup, tech expert Dave Taylor of www.AskDaveTay... checks out two different approaches to bluetooth sunglasses, the sweet (but expensive) Bose Frames Tenor and the much more affordable Lucyd Lyte. Which ones are better, which should YOU pick up for your next outdoor adventure? Check out the video to find out more!
    Then check out the bluetooth sunglasses at:
    www.lucyd.co/
    www.bose.com/
    Disclosure: Lucyd sent me both pair of sunglasses for the purpose of this video review. All opinions are my own, however. Of course.

    I got the tenor and thought they sounded great but didn't like how thicc they were so I ordered the lucid lytes and just received them today. Love the style of the lyte but since having the tenor and switching over the lyte the sound cannot compete with the bose. It sounds like your listening through a tin can and voices seem to clip when louder. Bluetooth was not as great with the lytes aswell. Cut out a couple of times during a call with the phone in my hand and then walking from the living room were my phone was to my bedroom. With the Bose I was able to leave my phone inside and be working in my garage with no problems. If you don't know any better I'm sure the lyte will be fine. The lytes look awesome, isip65, and are cheaper but if your getting sunglasses that plays music and to take phone calls spend the extra money for the Bose that give you full sound and some bass. It's worth it. I think lucid lyte will probably have a awesome product in the near future but for now I think Bose takes the cake. If you care about the look and don't care so much about the sound and like the option to listen to music and take calls sometimes go for the lytes.
    Sorry for my Grammer/Spelling. Words and sentences are hard 😅 and I'm just a dingis
    Oh and the noise pollution was worse on the lytes. Tested them by sitting the lytes and Bose next to each other at same vol and switched between the two at different distances. The lytes had the better lenses for out of the box.

    Would love to know where Soundcore Frames fit in. Right between Bose and Lucid I imagine. Supposedly they have better call quality than bose, 4 speakers, and you can buy different styles of lenses for $50.00 each and connect the arms to them instead of having to shell out an extra $200 for a different style.

    The Bose glasses are truly sunglasses, but Lucyd Lyte has thinner, smaller frames that can be everyday prescription glasses with clear lenses. Can’t wait. 🙏

    • @AskDaveTaylor
      @AskDaveTaylor  3 года назад +2

      Both allow you to add Rx lenses, actually!

    • @stevenmautone
      @stevenmautone 3 года назад

      @@AskDaveTaylor both accept Rx lenses, but I’m referring to the size/style. The Bose frames are bigger and thicker, so I feel like they look awkward as clear glasses. Although I admit that’s personal opinion and probably depends a lot on face/head size.

      Ah, fair enough. Hence the polarizing and tinting for sunglasses: No worries about plain glass.

      We're definitely targeting eyeglass wearers with this new line. This is our first all-day wearable. One key differentiator is that we use high-gloss acetate like most fashion frames do now, while competing products still use a PC plastic frontplate. This allows us to do clear fronts on the launch models and patterns for future models.

    I invested lucyd company.The new lucyd lite are nice. But when seeing it next to the Bose, I do like the size of the Bose lenses better. I have a bigger head so those lenses would look small on my face. Maybe yall can do something about that 🤔

    Here in CANADA ill go for the Bose alto. Its available here and on sale for 199 CAD. The tenor has better sound quality than the alto since theyr of different generations, but I like the deaign of the alto better. As for the Lyte plus its shipping, it will cost me 170 CAD.

      Double check with Lucyd; I believe they have different shipping and product costs in Canada. Or, as you like to say, CANADA. :-)

      You really need to check on their site as I imagine that price changes over time based on how much the external supplied is going to charge them for the glass.

    weather/ water resistant?

    • @AskDaveTaylor
      @AskDaveTaylor  2 года назад

      They didn't have an IPX rating, but you can check on their site and/or email customer service to find out. Without that data I would assume it's water resistant (e.g., caught in a rainstorm) but not waterproof (don't drop 'em in the pool).

    is there any ip rating for Lucyd Lyte?

    • @AskDaveTaylor
      @AskDaveTaylor  3 года назад +1

      Not that I'm aware of but one would assume they are at least splash resistant since they are likely to get rained upon at some point. Maybe ask the company?
