      I haven't tried with it dear... We don't get it here.. You can also just increase the amount of tamarind without kokum.. Kokum is optional..

    • @HomefoodrecipesJovitaNoronha
      @HomefoodrecipesJovitaNoronha  4 года назад +2

      You can use, but the taste is always good when using corriander seeds ,which is the traditional way.

    Proportions are nicely demonstrated..... Ova / ajwain can also be added i think... All spices are need to be lightly roasted i think...but you are an expert

      It's done in both ways raw masala grinding or roasted masala grinding & taste varies in both ways .I prefer raw masala ..and yes you can add a pinch of ajwain if you like.Thanks for watching😊👍

      😁 . What made u think so!! I didn't touch it because I need to handle both camera & other things at the same time.I am a Mangalorean I eat fish since childhood ☺️

    All Mangalore fish curry preparation looks same. Masala for grinding ingredients such as Red chilly, Cumin seed, black pepper seed, , tamarind pulp, garlic and coconut is same in every video.
    But, one observation is Here, MUSTERDED seed is added ; in some other video's COVEN seed is added to masala . However, most of videos don't add both MUSTERED seed and COVEN seed
    What will be impact of the taste? can any one explain?

    • @HomefoodrecipesJovitaNoronha
      @HomefoodrecipesJovitaNoronha  3 года назад +7

      First of all its a traditional recipe ,we all Mangaloreans use same ingredients for all most all fish( we eat only sea fish the max than river fish )Comming to Mackrel fish or bangude commonly called in Mangalore ..Its little gassy compared to other fish so either mustard or carom seeds are added .Its optional though you can skip it.This masala Suits almost any SEA fish .We Mangaloreans Know each SEA fish by names ,so every fish has a different taste.The curry taste depends on the SEA fish used.
      Try it with any SEA fish.
