I really like the song Dead or Alive Terry did with George Lynch a couple of years ago. Very XYZ sounding. For a first single Face Down is a pretty heavy song. Both of their first 2 albums are excellent.

hmmmm, haven't heard that one! Terry also participated in the All-Star remake of Better Day's Comin'... Ya, it's a heavy song to release... kind of the same patch as Autograph's Loud and Clear... Now, how bout that bartender? :)

Back in the day I was given two demos (cassette tapes) from a promotor in Los Angeles. (That was in September of 1988, which would be more than a year before the first album came out in October 1989.) One was XYZ, the other Tomorrows Child. A week later I met this promoter again and told her I was very impressed by Tomorrows Child (as it had the fantastic "Walk in the woods") and XYZ was ok, she was surprised as she obvioulsy was in favor of XYZ (or needed to push them.) By that time XYZ were not signed by Enigma and Tomorrows Child were not signed by Arista yet. Oh well, Tomorrows Child's deal fell through and they went into total obscurity and their two CDs only came out YEARS later in 1993 and 1996 while XYZ went to sell two milion albums later... When the XYZ album finally came out I was impressed how much they had improved and digged the track "What keeps me loving you" very much. They were right ahead in time to have the kind of success a band from the "Second division" could have, before it all collapsed in 1992. The second album in 1991 was even released on Capitol Records by the way. And there was/is another album/release called *"Forbidden Demos"* from 2005 and also a live album "Take what you can Live".
So fast forward to 2012 and Terry Illous signed my two XYZ albums (yes, I have "Hungry" on vinyl, Dan!) when he was playing a low key gig with Great White for around 150 people only here in Germany. I was wearing my Dangerous Toys Hoodie ( to reference your last video, Dan....) and I have to laugh as I remember Terry saying "Jesus F*cking Christ: Dangerous Toys!!!" and smiled as he saw it!

My god, you have lead a very interesting life back then! :) Demos right and left from promoters! Ugh, ANOTHER one who has Hungry on vinyl! LOL (Joking - very happy for ya! Hold onto it) Hahahaha, love the fact Terry acknowledged your hoodie like he did! :) I prolly wont get that Forbidden Demos one... and know about the Live one too (I've kind of stopped buying live albums in the past decade....) Thanks again for watching and leaving your interesting comments to read! :)

I really the first 2 albums indeed, never heard that 3rd one, didn’t they also have a forbidden demos album release as well as I was just wondering, underrated band and great video, I saw Terry twice fronting Great White he was fantastic, Cheers

The third one is "ok"... Terry can still sing.. sounds like one of those albums hair metal bands did in the late 90s or early 2000s... very raw... but not bad... And yes, there is a Forbidden Demos album (which I never got).... Lucky you got to see the Terry version of GW live... I dont know many ppl who did...

Liked them so much I bought the Japan and French versions of the first two discs and the Take What You Can Live discs. All have different bonus tracks. There are two version of Letter To God. Rainy Days was meh. I do have two demos that are not on Forbidden Demos. Asked Marc Diglio about them but he didn't respond. Eventually they put out a Best Of which had 1 song not on any other album.

Wow! Some of these songs/bonus tracks I was not aware of... thanks for letting me know! Now if only they can be released on vinyl eventually... :) Thanks for watching and commenting!

Honestly, I think their debut was their best. Absolutely great album. Hungry lacked a bit of substance for me. I have the other albums, but meh, they're not great. I'm one of the lucky ones that has an original vinyl copy of Hungry (as well as the debut).

I guess for me it depends on the week? LOL This week was Hungry, next week who knows? Deep down they are 2 solid albums... (imo)... Thank you for watching and commenting and congrats on having original vinyls of the first 2 albums!
