Yes I agree about being a crawler, would you do a vid on the difference between the mamei, silver cloud and plowmanii, I just can't seem to work out what the difference is and that leaves me scratching my head in confusion. I brought a ??? Chopped it up and now have 6 or 7 of them and plan to give them away although a little embarrasing not knowing what I'm giving to other people. Thanks I really enjoy your content always on topic. Keep em coming.😃
I just had a planty package delivered today that had a plowmanii and a begonia breverimosa in it. The package sat at a hub for SIX days and was in shipping for a total of nine days! And we’re under a heat wave! I had ordered it during a cool down but the seller didn’t ship it for a week. Anyway, the plowmanii was a beast and doesn’t look at all like it’s been shipped, let alone the trip that it had! The begonia on the other hand is on the struggle bus. I’m holding out hope though for it to rehab 🤞🏻 I’m excited to finally have a plowmanii though! My mother in love is downsizing and gave me a rectangle terra-cotta pot and I ordered it just for that planter to remember her old place!
My Plowmanii got root rot twice in soil. I recently moved it to Pon and it is absolutely thriving! It didn’t drop and leaves and now there’s a new growth. Lechuza Pon isn’t the cheapest, but I eventually want to move all of my plants to it.
Hi there from Germany. First, thanks for all your good and informative videos! Secondly, just a quick tip regarding the Pon cost dilemma. You can try to get Vulkaflor from Vulkatec. I use it for nearly all my plants indoor. The Pon is (in my opinion) similar to Lechuza Pon. The only difference is that Vulkaflor comes NOT pre fertilized. 25l costs around 19€. But you can also buy "Big Bags" which are much bigger and cheaper/liter ;-) The only downside: They apparently only ship in Germany. But maybe its a tip for you anyway. Keep up the good work!
I just picked up a 1 leaf cutting about a month ago for $50 (CAD). It's pretty small. The 1 leaf it came with is only about 4 inches long. It's already put out a new leaf in my care! I am so in love with it's little freckles 😍
Ohhh congrats on the purchase, not sure if that is expensive or cheap for where you bought it, but for here that is a good price for a small cutting at the moment 😊 yeah completely with you on the patterning 😁
I have a plowmanii, for about a year now. I’ve moved it under my grow lamp. It had one leaf, when I got my starter plant. I lost that one! It’s finally getting a bit of a Y, at the end of the 1 stalk! Is it that slow of a grower, to not have a leaf yet? I have it in a round pot, maybe I should transfer to an elongated pot that I have?
Thanks for your information , your channel reli helps plant lover. From your experience , does Plowmanii grown well in outdoor low humidity around 40-50% ? or they need a humidifier ?Thanks
I love the giggling over the beheading of the only original leaf 🤣 Its always a 'new' or 'favourite' plant that gets smashed in an accident isnt it. But on the upside, you find out how tough a plant really is and the elation is a joke when you see it put out a new growth point... "Happy Dance" ensues
I got a juvenile plowmanii on Etsy and planted in a long pot. It refuses to crawl and just keeps wanting to climb. I took the first 8”, or so, and eased it down to soil, over a couple weeks, and now it’s back to climbing again: even without a support pole. It’s growing great (and quickly) 1-2 leaves per month but it refuses to crawl. Main stem is still small: on the order of about 1/4” in diameter or less. I would submit a photo but not sure how to do that in RUclips comments
I am still doing the same thing. Easing down into the soil. But it is not triggering root growth from the nodes. Thinking about making soil chunkier. BTW, now growing from both ends.
Everyone needs a plowmanii 😅😅😅😅 but in all seriousness, if you like it, have space for it and you want it go for it. I am still a strong believer in getting plants because i like them, rather than everyone else liking them 😊. So jealous of your Sodiroi, i only have a Sodiroi aff, and it takes so long to grow.
@@Houseplantygoodness I noticed that mine does not like moving air. I don't know why. So it is now on the floor between the refrigerator and other cabinet, under artificial light. And happy so far.
Ugh! Plants. I have one that thinks it is a climber. I have it in Leca and it grows upright. Never even attempted to crawl. But it is 100% Plowplow. Weird thing. Also, when I had spider mites this summer, they loved the Plowplow. But it was easily treatable. Also, it puts out at least one leaf per month at the moment.
Did you ever figure yours out? Mine is climbing too, I laid it down and the new growth turned 90° straight up. I'm wondering if it will keep doing this until it switches to cataphyls for the new growth? Mine is also growing heckin fast, 3 leaves in 2 months.
@@bronsonramoutar2414 I ended up airlayering it and just this past weekend I chopped it. It is now laying on Pon. Too early to tell if it will take like this. But I have high hopes.

Awww thanks for the kind words. I do have a mamei (not sure if it is silver cloud or not, but I can definately do a comparison video if that helps 😁
That would be a great help.😃

Ohhh that is amazing thanks for the tip, I will Che k them out and hopefully they might ship here too soon 🤞🤞🤞
Those leaves a huuuge! 🤩 I wish my baby plowmanii get that big someday!
Give it time it will get there very soon 😊

I’m thinking about getting a plowmanii to have another crawling philodendron. It’s so beautiful! Thanks for the awesome video. 😍
By the way, my plowmanii is about 8 inch long single stem, no leaves. Like I said, beginning to break into a Y.
Thanks you!! Great video!!
Beautiful plant. I have yet to see one in person but from what I see in photos it’s stunning.
I have a wee baby and I can say the photos NEVER do this guy justice! Do yourself a favor and get one lol. You won't regret it
Definately a very cool plant, I was like you, never saw one until I had it in my care, but just wow when you see it up close
I treat mine just like my gloriosum also. Each leaf gets larger than the last.
Definately what I have noticed too 😊

I like how the stems remind me of measuring tape lol

Very informative...can you please tell what type of soil which keeps plowmanii happy...thank you
At the moment growing both in lechuza Pon, but I know they do well in airy Aroid Soil Mix, I have my recipe on my channel if you want to check it out
@@Houseplantygoodness Thank you 🙏

what did you end up doing? mine does the same thing
I am still doing the same thing. Easing down into the soil. But it is not triggering root growth from the nodes. Thinking about making soil chunkier. BTW, now growing from both ends.
I had to mix perlite into Leucheusa because it rots the roots, the grit sizes are too uniform I think
Would you recommend this as a good houseplant?
Hi Memo, I have a kinda stupid question - do I need a Plowmanii? I have a Sodiroi (huge) and a Mamei (not so huge but fast growing).

Yeah see I heard that too, very confusing, both mine are crawling. I tried to grow one up, but it really didn't like it 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

I wait for it to be almost dried and everytime
I water I loose a leaf 😔
it is still a mystery to me how to distinguish ph. mamei that climbs from ph.plowmanii 🤣
I think a few people have this issue, already planning a video to tell them apart 😊
I keep killing them 🙁🙁🙁
