So officially s3 isn’t happening, but the fandom really kicked up a fuss (bought a billboard truck, had a plane with a “Renew OFMD” banner fly over LA, etc). You never know how things might shake out in the future. In the meantime, a bunch of us are writing fanfic to keep the magic going 😁
As for season 3. They tried every outlet. There were ads everywhere supporting getting another service to pick tje show up. After several weeks jenkins made the announcement that all attempts he made ran dry and that it was the end I will tell you season 2 ends in a way that feels very final so you won't be left hanging
This is my favorite episode of s2. It's such a great combination of silly, funny, and emotional. You wear fine things well 2.0 was such a gift to us from the writers, just gorgeous As far as a potential s3 goes, there are no plans for that right now, but various cast members (Vico, Con, Nathan, and Kristian) have said they would like to be able to do another season someday and Kristian recently said that he thinks it will happen at some point. Series creator David Jenkins has been pretty active on Twitter lately after being quiet for months after the cancellation. He's reposted people's OFMD art and tattoos and just yesterday he posted a photo of the Times Square billboard the fandom's post cancellation campaign organized and said, "It was fucking cool that you all did this and I still get asked about it a lot." I don't think hope is dead but the industry is in shambles right now and it may take years for them to be able to do something, but I truly believe that at some point we'll get a third season or a movie, something
Glad you picked up on the most performative non-apology ever. Honestly, I was so incredibly frustrated with Ed's complete lack of an actual, honest redemption arc that I wrote a 50 000 word fanfic to fix it. I thought his entire character after episode 3 was bollocks. 🤷🏻♀️ (Still generally love the show, though. I just have... feelings about certain things to do with Ed, Stede and Izzy.
Unless something has changed in the last year, no, there will not be a third season. Season 2 does end in a satisfying way, it will not feel unfinished.

Unfortunately, Taika has stated that if there is a third season, he will not be involved. And the true story of Ed and Stede does not end happily, so I'm super happy without a third season
When did he say that? I know there was a rumour back when it was first canceled that Taika Waititi didn't want to come back, but I also know that was refuted at the time as false. Anyway, that would be a non-starter- you can't have this show without Ed. At best, you could do a spin-off (I wouldn't mind one around Zhen, Archie, Jim, and Oluwande).
