Thank you Bishop Barron. This homily touches a very humble chord for me. I’ve been privileged with a gift from the Master as an artist. I made money in my early life from commercial art and allowed myself to be swallowed up by it. I was doing it for me, not for God. The Lord showed me a different path for work, which I took and my art became a hobby in my life. I’ve had people ask me why I’m not selling my work, and I just shake my head no. Now I can respond “the Master has need of me.” I give my art away because it pleases and glorifies Him. Blessings to you all!
The Master has need of it. What an eloquent, inspiring sermon. We all have something to give in service to God. Untether the donkey…. the master has need of it….thank you for explaining that.
I’ve often felt dissatisfied when people complimented me on my gifts - precisely because I knew them to be gifts and they only made sense if I could use them to serve. I’ve often wished people could see the “real me” instead of my gifts. But with that verse “The Master has need of it”, everything finds its meaning and drops into its proper place. Thank you!
The master has a need in "it"..my gifts used to serve God. This has given me a total beginning on how to look at my God given gifts. He a need of it. Thank you Bishop Barron.
@@oliverclark5604 Sorry, but I didn’t mean anything more than I have written. I think you are unnecessarily complicating things (as they call it in French, “seeking noon at 14.00”).
Bishop Barron. A truly inspiring message told with gentle humility, with the grace and depth God has given you to speak for Him to others. God Bless you each day. Everyone should listen to this or watch, who believes in our God.🕊
It took 14 mins to resolve a lifetime of questioning and seeking. May the good Lord lead me to where I fear to tread. He must increase, I must decrease.

Bishop Barron: Truly one of the most inspiring homilies I have heard. Although the Lord has need of nothing, how He delights in our response to serve Him. This homily is something that the multitudes need to hear!
I feel this is one of many of Bishop Barron's sermons that has everything we need to know to live a good life. Many thanks to Bishop Barron and the Word on Fire Team for the wonderful work they do.
Thanks, Bishop Barron, for your good homily, leading me to think "God, the Master, has a need of me" and that we are being untethered for liberation, not enslavement or servitude. God bless.
to whom much is given, much will be expected. the ability to do, is the opportunity to do - and how those gifts are invested in service demonstrates our appreciation of what they're worth.
Thank you Bishop Barron for your most valuable words. I listen to you daily and gain so much from all you say. Your words are filled with wisdom and always make me think long after I have heard them. I send your sermons to my 3 boys who have all left the church. They don’t usually respond but I’m hoping there may be some words that may resonate with them to finally bring them back to God. If they won’t listen to me they may listen to you. God bless you for all your amazing work. 💕🙏
I just came home after spending a week with Franciscan nuns. It was amazing to see how they used their gifts for God. Even though most were quite advanced in age. It really made me think how I could use my talents for God... I've been blessed with a lot of things, I really need to start to give back. The master has need of this little donkey. Thank you! I'll keep it in my mind!
God Bless You Bishop Barron for unpacking in today's beautiful homily the core of the Christian message: turn around, "repent" and be untethered from the world so Christ can "ride" on us as we pursue our life journey. He desires to be on our back, He wants to have our back. That's what it's all about.
In the spirit of this homily, I give thanks to God for working so brilliantly through Bishop Barron and his focus on that one phrase and how our purpose is to give the gifts we've been given by God as a gift back to Him. I also have a vague memory of a saint, or maybe a pope, who said that we discover who we are when we give of ourselves.
Absolutely amazing opening of the scriptures, as always, by Bishop Barron! I never cease to be amazed at his ability to focus on words and phrases that I would easily miss and how deep the meaning is behind those very simple words. 🙏
One of the Best Palm Sunday Homilies I've heard. Using whatever gifts you've got to Glorify God. I believe Shakespeare encouraged more positive outlooks and ideas about Christianity as a playwrite than if, say, he has decided to be a Priest. And for those ...not bright individuals who say Shakespeare wasn't a Christian: 1) in my 4 decades of studying his plays, the Bard's true beliefs are all over those plays 2) a famous,.highly respected English Historian of Elizabethan England- AL Rowse- counted Shakespeare quoting 40 different Books of the Bible. Something to ponder...
