- Nothing special here, just for fun! I must say it looks a lot better in person than it does in the video. The photos taken from cropped screenshots do look good so you get the idea!
The game atmosphere looks even better on this tv
I played the original re 4 on a TV that size back in the day lol.
Oh didn't we all
Dude so did I lol, re4 on GameCube with a 14in CRT 😂
This is awesome! I love seeing CRT stuff in 2024!
Imagine developing early 2000s-style horror games using Unreal Engine or other advanced game development tools, only to play them on an old TV. The game's environment becomes even more realistic, delivering the ultimate nostalgic vibes of the early 2000s.
That's pretty neat! I still remember playing SH2 on a big honkin' wood TV back when I got it for PS2.
Wood TV like in Lakeview Hotel, nice.
that was pretty cool. you seem like a collector with a lot of interesting stories to tell, love the cluttered look of that room
This feel like the tv in the hotel room, where you know what is displayed
That actually looks amazing
It looks like the VCR/CRT cutscenes INGAME but it's the whole game. Kinda meta. Looks great!
This looks really nice, especially on this particular game. I played some Breath of The Wild on my 27in CRT, and aside from text not look great, it was a really nice look visually.
Absolute peak aesthetics
I was hoping to see one of the cut scenes. Such as meeting Angela in the graveyard
Exactly what I was looking for! Just awesome. Can you make more SH2 Remake videos with the 4×3 resolution? I always love seeing modern games played in that aspect ratio. Pretty please 🥺🥺😆😆
i'd like to see more games run on this old monitor. you're right when you say it's pretty darned cool. it has its own aesthetic.
CRTs are precious.
He's starting to believe.
The darkness is due to the hdmi to composite adapters being kinda crap. They don’t have the settings to change the brightness and other stuff like a vga to composite can do which I’d say is better
Very cool. One of the few CRTs that I want and don't have, got sniped on eBay, lol. One of these days I'll get this one, or the 1701, which is virtually identical. Although I understand what you meant, this is still a monitor and not a TV. Although Google search can really muddy things up, it's very simple: televisions have RF and monitors do not. That's it. Within a CRT context, the monitors you're thinking of are usually called "VGA CRT monitors."
Also, I'm not sure if you're aware of it, but this monitor is not just composite, it can do S-Video (Y/C) as well, which is considerably higher quality,. You can get a Y adapter that will allow you to connect consoles to it out back. PC as well, as I did find an HDMI to S-Video adapter. Either way, very cool to see SH2 remake on a Commodore 1702, thanks for sharing.
@@crt_rex yeah I wanted to get one of those cables to split the normal s-video din port to the two RCA style but never did.
@@MN12BIRD Get one, you won't regret it. Despite being mentioned as an option between composite and component/RGB, S-Video is much closer in quality to component and RGB than it is to composite. I know a couple of people that own that cable with this monitor and they're quite happy with the results. Keep up the good work, I hope you enjoyed SH2 Remake! I really loved it.
Sometimes those HDMIComposite boxes have a physical switch for 16:9 and 4:3 modes. It could be that the video out of the game is being recognized as 16:9 despite the in-game settings. Then again, I didn't notice any squashing on the CRT.
The GPU when setting that resolution so low: Thanks friend, it's a relief to work like this. ha ha ha
Looks like tye game was born and made to be played in a monitor/tv like this
Looks very REmake if you know what I mean
did you noticed any input lag with the converter? I usually hear that with cheap converters and I wanted to make sure.
Because I have a gbsc with downscaling capability, but I still haven't managed to get it to work with my consumer crt tv and i'm trying to do it with a hdmi to vga adapter for the gbs
I haven't noticed but it's not like I have test equipment to check. I'm sure there's some but not enough to notice especially in a game like this. I have noticed some screen tearing with this though.
How i play newer games on a gtx 1060 lol. Thanks to the resolution, also you can force The game to run at 4:3 just gotta change aspect ratio value with hex editing just like for 21:9
Dude what camera are you using to record this? Thank you btw
I wanted to buy a crt monitor for so long, I'm just too lazy.
SH2 remake demake lol
the cameras have nothing to do with the original and they were the main characteristic of the game that set it apart from the resident evil series, the original had two modes for cameras, chase or cinematographic by default, this has only one, it is indeed a demake.
Too bad it won't fix the stutter mess.
For me CRT is always better/superior
