that's a must, didn't realize how important this was when first started out , i stuck a nice buck at 8 yards, arrow didn't go thru completely, i couldn't believe it, someone at work mentioned paper tune,i tried mine, it was way off, tuned it and it never did that again , very important.
Humility, I love it when a man admits he learned something, for real. Good job dood. Not a bow hunter, but now I know. Also, i got a banjo for Xmas!!! :)
Yea, I keep a shaft bare just to paper tune. I have everything set up in my garage. I adjust until I get an exact bullet hole from across my garage with no fletching. Glad you learned. 👍 to add to that, you can check to see which way your arrows flex, and set them up so they all come out of the bow the same way, really helps consistency. Look up flex tuning on here, I think a guy named Matt from Texas has a video where he explains all about it.
If you arrowed a deer at 8 yards and the arrow didn't through pass your using expandable broadheads or you hit bone....paper tuning helps the arrow flight but you really can't tell the difference at close range shots
paper tuning an broadhead tuning are completely different you can have perfect paper tune tear with poor broadhead flight have great broadhead flight that matches field point impact with paper tune not perfect paper tune is just a starting point
Ya and if you really want to go full ocd you can bare shaft nock tune every arrow at 5 yard's. You should try it, it really cleans up your group's past 30 yards😉
Always liked Joe Rogan , now that he’s bowhunting I respect him and like him even more. Joe , you should attend a IBO or ASA 3 d tournament, you would love it especially since you have that competing nature.
Look at that Hoyt jump forward. Can we say lunges kick likes a mule. Lol So pretty I use too shoot Hoyt. Hoyt makes good bows. I've owned like 4 Mathews since those days. Still love my Mathews V3 27 and Triax.
When you draw you should push with your left arm pull with your right arm and keep the bow level so then there is less movement for your game to spot you
There's not gonna be a single bow shop Pro out there that would not set up Joe Rogan With the best possible shooting flawless Bow ,that would be dumb to give him a bad experience. That's money And word-of-mouth.
I was taught to shoot a bare shaft with no fletch to tune, without the fletching you get a much cleaner view cause the vanes don't tear the paper on the outer edges
its fine paper tuning with vanes as well. The reason to use a bareshaft has nothing to do with how clean the hole is... its that a bareshaft magnifies any inconsistencies more than a fletched arrow. If you can get a bareshaft flying perfect then the fletching does not need to work as hard to correct the errors in flight. I always run a fletched shaft through paper once I think I am all set just to make sure the fully built arrow is doing what I want it to. Theres a hundred ways to tune a bow ... paper tuning is just the first step.
@WolfinWolvesClothing713 Well if they're broadhead, walk back, bare shaft. All that paper was changed and for nothing. Time wasted when they could of just used a laser in their tuning.
@WolfinWolvesClothing713 paper targets don't mean nothing and are easy to shoot. A big Big buck staring you down at full draw. Now that does. That means something. That is a challenge. You better put the arrow where it's supposed to go. You better hold and wait for to release that arrow. Deer jump, smell, hear and move. Targets don't.
PSE running circles around hoyt Joe. Grab a Mach34. You will be soooo happy with it. If you are ever in central IL. Come to Midgard Ent in Gilman IL and see the shop.
Hey Joe, I was just there a couple days ago. Sad that I missed your buddy. I hope Jordon or tank took good care of you over there or Tommy. Anyways, I hope I get to meet you there one day.
joe rogan has shot with and been trained by the best people in the industry, and still has to lean back to get into his anchor point wtf is up with that
Shot hoyt abd pse my entire life. Then i tried prime. Prime is hands down so much better then hoyt. Anyone shootong hoyt needs to try prime. One pin up to 80 yards. Like cmon.
I could never get behind this fan boy paper shooting. But I cut my teeth on a recurve. So when I finally got a compound I never fell for the bells and whistles
Sounds like you're totally uneducated on the matter, I don't even shoot a recurve, etc... and I know there are ways to tune one for consistency. I'm sure hundreds of tournament archers would laugh at your internet archer comment.
When you get your bow tuned the hole the arrow leaves will resemble a bullet hole with clear slits where the vanes go through, in archery this is called a bullet hole. If your tuning is of the hole will tear left, right, up or down.
Rogan turning caveman the past 10 or so years is pure gold
Since when is archery caveman?
Caveman that uses a compound bow with a sight that has a built-in rangefinder lol
The guy behind the paper 💀
I’ve shot archery since the late 60’s and it’s still the most satisfying you can have with your clothes on✌🏼🇺🇸

"nice clean bullet hole"... arrow!
Actually it's called a bolt
@@bearcats1224uh no that’s for crossbows
We get it, everyone here is a professional
Exactly. You're trying to get the arrow to fly so straight out of the bow that the hole looks like a bullet hole with fletch marks.
I just want to feel how much power he has in a punch. I know I'm weird 😂
Its his kicks you want to get a shot at surviving.
4 vane, baby.
Need to do a bow channel bro
If i was doing archery, i would want an old-school long bow made of wood
Compound bows up your success rate for hunting, I have nothing against trad bows, but it's a fact they're aren't as easy to use.
Rogan, I better see a monster buck on your channel this bow season!
Joe should for sure do a hunting channel.
Always fun tuning.
Paper tuning should be done without fletching

Joe draws his bow improperly
I pass that everyday while on my way to work
That's a beautiful Matthew's lift in the background.
I think that is a previous model (v3x maybe) the lift has different cutouts in the riser.
I think you might be correct sir.
What's really going on is the Hoyt is the starting player while the Mathews is being benched 🔥
Look at that Hoyt jump forward. Can we say lunges kick likes a mule. Lol So pretty I use too shoot Hoyt. Hoyt makes good bows. I've owned like 4 Mathews since those days. Still love my Mathews V3 27 and Triax.
You mean the bottom kicking up like he's shooting with a low wrist? We both know they don't "jump" like that.
Supposed to to it bare shafted. No fletch
Go get ‘em Joe. Nice setup.
When you draw you should push with your left arm pull with your right arm and keep the bow level so then there is less movement for your game to spot you
what up Joe? did you ditch your JD PSE?
I wish that bare shaft tuning was the standard
No joke! You know your bow and your arrow set-up is perfect when you get a bare shaft flying straight.
Belgian engineer Talja bowed one in three out in consideration
How do you get a bullet hole with an arrow?

Hoyt is gonna go far with that origin camo coating! I have the RX5 and wishing I have the RX8 just for that specific reason

@@Life-of-Bluegrass_Music any idea what paper tuning is?
I used to live in that store back in the day. I worked at a club called New West. Back when Austin was cool.
I did that 40 years ago, I'm old Joe,
Yessir 💯💯💯💯 Love the new HOYT 👌🏻🏹✔️
Good lord that sight is ridiculous lol.
Joe such a fake ass hunter lol
Just got my new Hoyt dialed in today
I go through archery country Rogers,Minnesota . Best bow show around !
I go to the same shop. Keith built my bow for me. Will drive the hour and half to have them work on my stuff easy
I paper tune with a bare shaft, fetching can stabilize the arrow showing a false hole
I always thought that once you paper tune at 2 yards or whatever you have room for, you go out and walkback tune with bareshaft?
Thats the right way to do it. Shops are lazy
Quiero un arco de esos 🥺🥺
I'll have to try that. On another note, Joe's bow hand seemed a bit tight, looked like it anyway...
"bullet hole"
If your arrow doesn't leave a clean bullet hole while paper tuning you may need to switch out your arrows for bullets.
PAPERWORK time 🎉
What happened to the bow Cameron brought you that the bow rack here in Springfield set up for you?
I mean if your not going to use it I could use an upgrade from my Mathews vxr. Wayne will get me set back up
Joe Rogan is rich, he must have like 15 bows
Joe, please check out apa bows. Give them a call, and they'll make you an awesome custom, then tell us all about it
Take those fletching off 🤷♂️
Not even archery..just a machine at this point
Nah
Nah

Nice!!!
Fuck yeah....
South Tex Bowhunting Up Ewers Ranch .....
Hell yeah go get those arrows Bloody..
Good thing you got that rangefinder hanging so you could tell the paper was one yard away! Keep up the good work Joe let’s go hunting
To close to the paper. Step back 3-4 more yards
You should try that with no fletchings and see if you still get a bullet hole. Bet you don’t !
Those bows are small.. but look huge in Joe's hands. Almost like a mideavil long bow. Lil joey
The wording lettering always gets in the way of what your trying to see.
Do they make one that is ambidextrous (for both left and right hand ) shooters?
I have that same bowsight, it is a necessity for whitetail hunting. If you cant afford one, start saving or sell a kidney! Its worth it

Should do that without fletching
you do it with the fletching and should see all 3 or 4 of them, if you see 1 or 2 or a large tear the arrow was kicked at an angle

Hey nice bow . . .
So when are you switching to Matthews?
Arrow hole guy...not bullet hole😂
take that Randy Ulmer!!!!
Must be nice to be able to afford a Hoyt. I like Rogan and others but they are not us.
How you get a bullet hole with an arrow?
I once seen this guy get offended because he was compared to a thanksgiving turkey!
Great bullet hole, lol
Is Joe Rogan over 5ft tall?
That's a good question, Google says he's 5'-8" I've never really questioned Joe Rogan's height 🤔
4ft
Well, if you missed that...
The goal is a perfect shaped hole resembling the shape of the arrow shaft and fletching vanes
