Hi Freddy. Check your door if you still got the moisture panel in place. You have to remove the door panel and the moisture blocking part will be directly on the door. It is glued with black bitimen glue so it stays sticky like forever. If it is damaged or badly put in place it may leak whenever it is raining and water may come inside your car. Also if you got a sunroof you might check for leaks as well. First check your drain lines. Remove the interior A pillar panel and slightly pull away the roof panel to see if there is a hose and if yes if it is connected to the sunroof counterpart. Then check the whole line for holes etc. simply take a small water bottle and pour it into any corner of the sunroof and watch what happens. Don't mind some water dripping inside the car. If it leaks it leaked for some time now and you did not even know about it. So a little bit of water that you can dry instantly after is not a problem. It might be wise to unplug your battery thou for if you are just a drop away from flooding your fuses (which if you don't know) then that one drop too much won't hit anything powered by the battery :) the location of the fuses under the seat is a bit "unlucky" as a german would say but when you got all things sorted it ain't a problem. If it would be then almost none of those cars would last that long And just as a bottom line: The GM5 module does not control everything. It is indeed the *G*eneral*M*odule, but BMWs have several other control units. For lights, for steering, for the radio and all its variants, for literally everthing. Some functions can be found in the GM module instead in some separate module but it varies from production date over car equipment to model. Some different models even share the some modules. Not really related to your fuses and relays but it may be interesting to know :)
good walkthrough mate. to anyone with a right hand drive BMW anything referd to as "passenger side" appears to still be on the passenger side like the DME, fuses ETC
The reason you get water on your bmw floor, is because your door vapor/weather barrier is not sealing well. You have to remove your door panel and re glue with weather sealant your door vapor barrier. So thats why you get water after a rainy day or at a car wash
Hi, my 2000 530d was gm3 module failure in my car, when the ignition is turned on, the steering wheel does not go down to the memory position immediately, it comes to its position after a few seconds, a few electricians said that there is a short circuit in the electrical system, then after months while, the air conditioner does not turn on. We try different HVAC panel has been tried, but the air conditioner still does not work, could these problems be caused by the fuse panel under the carpet?
Yo please get back at me bro, my 525i BMW, 2002 won't even register - lights or show any type of life at all what can be the problem it literally sputtered and died and hasn't worked since it's been sitting in my driveway for 2 years I put the battery on the charger for over 8 hours put in the car try to crank it over no lights even came on in the dash please get back at me and tell me what's wrong with my car
Thank you for this video, it's very valuable lesson for me and my E39. My E39 is the twin to the one you work on in this video.
You did a good job locating all the fuses. Al though I love the car, the places they placed some of the fuses is utterly stupid.
Thank you Freddie, brilliant stuff and thanks for your time in making the video.
THANK U A LOT , I WAS LOOKING FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS, MY CAR HAVE HAD A FLOOD SO IMAGINE.

I actually figured out water was coming in thru the passenger feet vents. Under both the front seats are vents for air to the back
Thank you very much for the video. Such stupid design why BMW put the fuse box at bottom!

I'll first try continuity on battery cables to make sure those cables are good. If good go ahead and check the big fuse on red battery termnal.
