    I thought Mars Attacks was really funny and did such an amazing job giving a nod to the classic 1950’s sci-fi films. And the cast is unbelievable!
    I would say my favorite “guilty pleasure” would be Clifford (1994) starring Martin Short & Charles Grodin. I laugh throughout the entire film but most people hate it. It has an 18% on Rotten Tomatoes.
    Awesome video as always Stephanie!

    2 just popped into my head. 'The Beverly Hillbillies' movie was always fun, and this strange/funny Howie Mandel movie 'Walk like a Man' my brother in law was nicknamed "Bobo" after that movie. 😂

    Great video, Stephanie 👍
    I liked your intro/explanation of your criteria for this video, because I too don’t like the term “guilty pleasure”
    The first “guilty pleasure” movie that comes to mind is Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (2013) over the years the word-from the few I’ve heard speak about it-has been either it’s bad or at most just ok. But I love this movie, its big ridiculous fun, it has no interest in realism or even believability, it’s just there to have a good time. And if you appreciate good makeup, wardrobe, creature design, props, and set design then this movie is a feast for the eyes

    • @MovieChatter01
      @MovieChatter01  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi friend and I'm with you. I really don't care for the term guilty pleasure either. It just lends itself to making people feel bad about things they debite and that's not the point of watching movies. Everyone should be watching whatever they enjoy without judgement.
      I've seen Hansel and Gretel and I agree, it was a fun one. I have it in my collection and will definitely be watching it again.
      Thanks so much for checking out the video and sharing your thoughts. I really do appreciate it. 😀👋👋

    Deep Blue Sea is a guilty treasure. I've grown to love it over the years. It's one of those ridiculous over the top films they made so many of in the 1990's. The Beavis and Butthead is a classic.

      Hi friend. Right?? I really don't think the movie is all that much different than the show. I grew up watching it every single day it was on so I pretty much knew what to expect from the movie. I didn't understand all the hate unless it was a lot of people who never saw the original show.
      Thanks so much for checking out the video and it's always great to meet another Musters fan. 😀👋👋

    I am 100% with you on Mars Attacks! That movie is such a hoot! And the perfect ending scene with Tom Jones. I don't understand how anyone doesn't love it. The guilty pleasure I love that I almost do feel guilty about is Battlefield Earth. I know it's awful...I still think it's a pretty special achievement. And somehow, I honestly love it. I've never seen The Klumps, I'll have to check it out. I loved the video. I hope y'all are doing well.

      Hi Steve and thanks for the kind words, as always. I love Mars Attacks so much. Those rotten little guys kill me. 🤣🤣🤣 I was at a horror convention this weekend and there was Mars Attacks stuff everywhere so I guess the base is in the horror community and folks with a sense of humor.
      I've seen Battleship Earth and from what I remember, it was fun. I say we just watch what we like without apologies.
      Thanks so much for being here and I hope all is well with you. 😀👋👋

BLOOD FOR DRACULA (Paul Morrissey) 5. Burton is BLUEBEARD (Edward Dmytryk) 6. SALOME'S LAST DANCE (Ken Russell) 7. Bo Derek in TARZAN THE APE MAN (John Derek) 8, FASTER PUSSYCAT, KILL! KILL! I always liked Deep Blue Sea, saw it in theaters and the lady behind me screamed and kicked my chair during "that scene" haha, will always remember that. Real awesome that you mentioned BAIT also, I have been telling people for years that that one is decent. So many bad DTV shark movies but Bait is one of the better ones... the top tier of the bottom feeders haha.

    No one should be embarrassed for liking Mike Judge with movies like Office Space, Idiocracy and even Extract. I own that same edition of Beavis & Butt-head Do America and I was in my twenties when they were on MTV and it’s Nostalgia for me.

      Hi Jason. This was a fun one to do. There are so many fun movies out there that you can just put on and enjoy. I think sometimes it's easy to take things to seriously; not us, of course. 😂😂
      I think 28 Days is really good and the humor wasn't in poor taste. But I do respect those in recovery so maybe it just hits wrong for them.
      I think you might enjoy it. It's a good story with some really great moments.
      Thanks so much for watching and hope everything is going well with you. 😀👋👋💞

    The only movies on your list I've seen are 28 Days and Mars Attacks. I remember liking the former, and I share your love of the latter. I think Glenn Close's performance in Mars Attacks is especially good. Your enthusiasm for these movies is infectious; you've made me want to see all of them. For me, the first guilty pleasure movie that pops into my mind is Mommie Dearest. It's so delightfully over the top. Faye Dunaway regrets making it, but I'm SO glad she did. ❤

They are: Tiger Bay / The Trouble With Angels / The Family way / Blue Denim / Beach Blanket Bingo / Xanadu / Testament / Georgie Girl / Road To Nashville & My Chauffeur. I'm of the belief that there is no such thing as "guilty pleasure." If a movie, tv show, or a song brings some sort of joy to your life, then there is absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about.

    • @chrisjfox8715
      @chrisjfox8715 2 месяца назад

      Agreed. But I think the source of it comes from the way that people get way too bent out of shape if you like/love something they hate...instead of just letting people enjoy what they enjoy.

    • @MovieChatter01
      @MovieChatter01  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi friend. I totally agree with you and that's why I said the only reason I used it in the title is because it's a search term. But I don't think we should ever feel guilty about what we like or don't like. It's a big part of why this channel exists. I think the critics get it wrong so often and I wanted a place where movie fans, like us, could share what we love without judgement.

    Hello Stephanie! I'm one of those five people who liked Rob Zombie's The Munsters. I don't know why, I just do. I like Tim Burton and I've been wanting to get Mars Attacks for a while and now I don't want to get it just because I'm hoping for a 4k. I also wanted to see Rampage. I used to play the video game as a kid. A movie I really liked that not many seemed to like was The Lone Ranger with Johnny Depp. Anyway, Great video Stephanie.

      Hi Michael and welcome to the Munsters hill with me. 😂😂😂 I was fine with what he did with that one because I really did expect exactly what it was. It's just silly fun.
      Rampage is a blast but I never played the game. I LOVE The Lone Ranger and that's another one that I never did understand all the hate it gets. It's a really fun movie. I do think people heart Johnny Depp and Tim Burton and just react. It's silly but they don't even give things a chance. Me, I'm a huge fan of everything they do but that's just me.
      Thanks so much for watching and sharing your picks and welcome to Munster Hill. 👋👋🤣🤣🤣

    My guilty pleasure isn’t a movie, it is a tv series. I find watching Rosanne is a comfortable place for me. I find that this is a more realistic representation of a middle class family in the early 1990’s. I know Rosanne got canceled and they moved on with the Connor’s, but I couldn’t watch the show without her in it. I was a faithful watcher of Roseanne back in the day, and I know a lot of people will disagree with that. Awesome topic, Stephanie!

    My #1 guilty pleasure is a movie from Finland: Lapland Odyssey (2010.) It's about a guy going out of his way trying to make his wife happy by getting a digibox (digital TV tuner for analog TV sets) and all of the "variables" he runs into. As a person of Finnish descent it really tickles my funny bone and it's great getting to see a road trip movie in Finland. It has 3 sequels but only the first 3 films feature the same male lead actor. Also notable, one of the main supporting actors co-starred in Spike Lee's Blackkklansmen.

    I picked up "Breaking news" at Hamilton Book for a couple bucks, I have to say pleasantly surprised. I'm glad i got it. Zorro the gay Blade(1981) is my guilty pleasure, If you come from a loud annoying family, the characters are for you (the cast all overdoes it). and it's cheesy as all hell. interesting note about rampage. the movie is loose based on an 80's arcade game of the same name.
    deep blue sea is insane.
    I think nutty professor got a bad rap because 1. it a remake of an old Jerry Lewis movie, 2. Eddie Murphy brand of humor was slowly learning toward downgrading his raunchy humor, and 3. not everyone was a fan of fat humor. to me it was an ok movie.

    I love 28 days! Some of my guilty pleasures are the 2004 remake of The Stepford Wives. It got horrible reviews, but I enjoy it. I also like a 1987 Jon Cryer movie called Morgan Stewart's Coming Home. I think Jon Cryer has disowned it, but I love it. It is also enjoyable if you are a horror movie fan. Oh God: Book 2 is another guilty pleasure. It is a comfort movie. I also think it's funny and sweet. Hush with Jessica Lange and Gwyneth Paltrow is pretty over the top and campy. My last two are a TV movie with Diane Ladd called Hush Little Baby (speaking of over the top and campy) and The Incredible Shrinking Woman with Lily Tomlin.

    One movie I enjoy that most can't stand is 'Skyline' (2010). It's basically 'Night Of The Living Dead' with it taking place only in an apartment building, just replace zombies with aliens. The SFX are great. There's 2 sequels, but I haven't seen them.
    I always thought everybody loved 'Urban Cowboy'. When it came out people were going crazy for mechanical bull riding.

      The second Skyline with Frank Grillo is terrible. Not because of him but the writing is atrocious. It was a STV B-movie. Stick with the original. You're not missing much with the sequels. Unless you like terrible B-movies.

      Hi friend. I'll have to check into Skyline. I'm not sure I've heard of it but I'll definitely take a look.
      Urban Cowboy is one that I thought was popular at one point but then I started doing some research. 😂😂😂 I found the bad scores and haters but I still love every minute of it.
      Thanks so much for watching and sharing your pick. I'll definitely look into it.
      Hope all is well with you, friend. 😀👋👋

      Hi friend. I have to say, I was really shocked when I saw the IMDb score. I thought it was one that people generally enjoyed even if it was silly. But I guess the critics take it way to seriously. I really do enjoy it for what it is and I'll keep watching it over and over. 🤣🤣
      Thanks so much for checking out the video. I really do appreciate it.

      Hi friend. I believe that. Rob Zombie movies are either a love it or hate it thing and especially, The Munsters. It's fine because even though I'm a huge fan of his, I do get why many aren't.

    I do not go by Rotten Tomatoes ratings because I have found my opinions are completely opposite from them. Cocaine Bear is a hoot and we spin it a few times a year.

    • @MovieChatter01
      @MovieChatter01  2 месяца назад

      Hi friend. I totally agree with you about Rotten Tomatoes. My go to is IMDb but I sometimes look at the crowd comments on Rotten to compare. Also, if the score seems really low on IMDb, I'll look at RT too, just to compare. But IMDb is the most accurate, I think.
      Cocaine Bear is so much fun. I even played it for my 80 year old parents and they loved it. 😂😂
