I love this segment idea! I was shocked to hear you didn’t love Fury on a first watch, but I completely understand how the environment could have a huge impact on your experience of the film. I think I’ve watched it 3x and I’m on the edge of my seat every time. Petite Maman! So good!!! I’m looking forward to your next segment in this series. Great video Stephanie!
I was the same with Fargo - hated it the first time, then I watched The Big Lebowski which I loved. Rewatched Fargo and thought it was one of the best films I’d ever seen
Hi friend. Thank you so much for checking out the video and subscribing. I'll definitely be doing more of these videos. I think they're a lot of fun and it gets me to grab movies off my shelves that maybe I haven't seen in a bit. I do a lot of horror during October but back to regular content in November. I'll mix in non-horror things this month so there's something for everyone but I do more horror than usual during October. I cover all genres so if there's ever anything you're interested in, feel free to drop it in the comments. Thanks for the comment, and again, welcome. 😀👋👋
I thought Fury was different & really enjoyed. I liked the pov from inside the tank. Dunkirk I thought was great & I haven't even seen Darkest Hour. Poor Things is so bizarre, but I really enjoyed the weirdness. Very intrigued to check out Long Legs. It's definitely been getting all the hype. I loved Black Swan. Bit of a mind trip. When Evil Lurks is fantastic! Great video Stephanie!
Stephanie, I just got back from seeing The Substance starring Demi Moore and loved it. This is her best performance and she deserves an Oscar. Also I happened to look on A online and they have the great horror movie Veronica on sale. It's the Spanish release, but I'm unsure it has American sub-titles.
Hi Stephanie! I've watched all of your shows & your ability to keep the quality up is amazing! Keep those great shows coming! I wrote down a few of the titles you mentioned & will get them soon. I do a lot of "Blind-Buys" because of strong recommendations. That way I'm totally blown away when I watch them. Blessings to you & your family & take care! --- Bill
I felt the same about the 2009 Friday the 13th. I saw it in the theater, and i don't know if it was just my expectations or what, but i didn't care much about it. I like it a lot now. It's one of my favorites of the series.
Try "Bad Monkey" with Vince Vaughn. It's a really good show that uses awesome narration & best of all it doesn't move at breakneck speed. BTW, you will LOVE the recaps:)
I havent seen Zodiac, Longlegs or Darkest Hour, it's time to do some online shopping! Fury and Dunkirk are some of my favorites! There's been a lot of buzz about the Friday the 13th movie getting the 4K release. I have the bluray, I need to pick up the 4K release too
For me it's Rob Zombie's Three from Hell. I loved House of 1000 Corpses (Rob's best film in my opinion) and liked Devil's rejects (sequel to House) but the third film in the trilogy 3 from hell didn't jive with me. It feels disconnected from the other two films. Even though it's a trilogy. I rewatched it and I at least can see what Rob was trying to do but it still doesn't "fit" with the other two films. 🤷 But great video, hope this series continues 😄
Great video! I've had a similar experience with many films over the years. But sometimes the process goes in reverse. For example, Zodiac. I saw it during its initial release and really enjoyed it. About a year ago, I watched it again at home and I found it unbelievably tedious and way overlong. The only positive factor was the stellar performance of Robert Downey, Jr. As for The Black Swan, I hated it when I saw it in the theater and have no desire to revisit it.
I love this concept for a video series, because as you said, it takes more than 1 or 2 viewings before a movie clicks. For me it takes multiple viewings period before I really know what's going on for most movies. But also I'm invested to know if Lawrence of Arabia will eventually end up in one of these videos 😄
Wow Stephanie, I can't believe you played with your phone during a screening of ZODIAC, well, nobody is perfect, don't worry, you are forgiven. Zodiac is a favorite of mine too. Great, wonderful video , wonderful movies to talk about .
🤣🤣🤣 you're funny and that made me laugh. Who the heck doi think I am playing with my phone during Zodiac of all movies?!?! In my defense, I wasn't in a theater so I was not bothering anyone else. 😀😀 It's such a fantastic movie. I can't believe it took me two tries to figure that one out. Thanks so much for watching and making me smile. I really needed that today. 😀👋👋
@@MovieChatter01 My pleasure Stephanie, if it wasn't in a theater it's not a big deal !! So glad to hear I made you laugh !!!! Thank you for so much !!!
Zodiac is good!! Longlegs is indeed amazing (in the guy that on your instagram post said that it was my firt time loving a nic cage movie loll). Mood and headspace is so importsnt when watching a movie. But also, how ppl recommand/ sale you a movie can nake it or break it.
Felt the same way with Dunkirk. The movie that stands out where that happened is M. Night Shyamalan’s movie Signs. I was not a fan of it the first time watching it when it first came out. Then when I rewatched it a couple of years later I definitely was into it more & enjoyed it and it’s my 2nd favorite movie of his.
I started watching Poor Things and after about 15 minutes or so when she started stabbing the cadaver I said "nope, too weird". Longlegs was more creepy than scary, but to me it struggled trying to find its identity. I was like is this a serial killer thriller or super natural horror????
Steph I like a lot of war films that arent from the American perspective and thats why I like "Dunkirk" --also its a film that max's out idea that its about a "phoney war"--which was the way the newspapers saw it,at the time!
I know there are more, but the only I can really think of right now is Fight Club. The first time I saw it, I thought it was a pretentious movie trying to be cool and tough... And after a few years at a really tough job, I watched it again and totally got it. I wanted to punch out a bunch of suits, too. Ha! I think of Black Swan like the female companion to Fight Club. To me, it's a much better movie, but probably not as rewatchable... as you kind of have to be in the mood for the moody, slow burn of Black Swan, whereas you can enjoy Fight Club as a popcorn movie and appreciate it on a deeper level. Now that I remember it, I had a few within the Friday the 13th series. I used to discount Part V and Part IX, because I was upset that they broke with the canon of franchise. Upon rewatch, I discovered that they are two of the whackiest (see what I did there?) entries in the series and while they are not in my top 3, they are no longer the bottom 2. I still don't care for the whole part where Jason Goes To Hell steals from The Hidden, but Jason is fierce here and the movie is fun.
Two of my very, very most favoritest movies in the world are in this category for me. I just didn't give The Maltese Falcon a fair shot the first time I saw it. I was young and even more stupid than I am today (really!) and wasn't ready to give black and white films a shot. Casablanca finally got me over that. I also didn't like The Big Lebowski very much the first time out. The language put me off a bit which makes no sense to anyone who has spent much time within earshot of me, but it bugged me for some reason. Now it is at the top of my list most days. I would love it if you would do more of these. Today you convinced me to give Dunkirk another shot. I knew a good bit about the events in the movie before I saw it, but it just didn't hit right. I'll have to catch The Darkest Hour first in case I'm not the history buff I think I am. I hope everything is well with y'all. Take care.
You always have the best recommend everything for all of us
I love this segment idea!

I’m looking forward to your next segment in this series. Great video Stephanie!
"Zodiac" is superb, and as you said it DOES give you an "ending."
"Black Swan" is wonderful. One of my favorite horror films of the 21st Century.
I was the same with Fargo - hated it the first time, then I watched The Big Lebowski which I loved. Rewatched Fargo and thought it was one of the best films I’d ever seen
My first time here. I subscribed. I’d love to see more series like this. I’ll check out your other videos too. Keep it up

Steph I like your views on films that I would say, were "confronting"!
I thought Fury was different & really enjoyed. I liked the pov from inside the tank. Dunkirk I thought was great & I haven't even seen Darkest Hour. Thanks for the video! Definitely need to check out Zodiac, it’s been on my list.

Very good video, thanks to me I passed with Middommar, the first time I couldn't connect, the second and all the others I consider it a major work.
Try "Bad Monkey" with Vince Vaughn. It's a really good show that uses awesome narration & best of all it doesn't move at breakneck speed. BTW, you will LOVE the recaps:)

I have to get to own long legs what format you recommend

L’Aventura and Ikiru are another two films that I’ve changed my mind about after watching them a second time

Zodiac really isn’t about the serial killer - it’s about obsession and how it can destroy or make you. The ending also makes sense emotionally

I did my very first preorder for this arrow video Friday 13th movie
Steph,I've got a few "reincarnations" too!
Demi Moore is a very talented in her movies
Exhausted week
I did not like Zodiac the first time either I like it now
Hot Tub Time Machine 2
I enjoy poor things I added to my region free movies
Didn’t like Petit Maman or Poor Things
I’m doing good as usual
