I thought it was pretty easy. The connector you smashed, that panel was meant to be pulled towards the front of the car. I also think you took off way too many panels, you can get those back attachments if you pop the airbag cover part off. None of that back needs to come off , the bottom of the doors don't either, nor do the a pillers even, you can just slip the corner out of them
Great video with all the details. My 06 civic headliner been hanging down for years... finally time to do it. That foam they used under the liner didn't hold up longterm for sure. Disgusting stuff.
My solution, recommended to me by our no nonsense mobile mechanic, has been thumb tacks. I used white ones. I guess you could use grey ones to match a little more, but I kind of like the white dots. LOL
Wouldn’t advise doing that with tacks. Keep in mind these cars have air bags up in the pillar above the headliner there. If you get in a wreck and those air bags go off you will have a bunch of thumb tack bullets coming at you
Super helpful. Not bad at all compared to what I thought it’d be. Also apparently you’re supposed to whack the area where those top clips are in the A pillar with a rubber mallet before removal, they’re supposed to break
Thanks for the vid. I have a 2010 exl 2 door coupe. I have modded a lot of it so far and for now im interested in adding a starlight headliner. I had already fabric spray painted my entire interior including the headliner black. Except a coworker once got in my car with some tree loppers on his shoulder and sliced my headliner so I'm gonna try and just buy some black fabric and fix it myself then add the starlight mod.
heyy quick question how long did it take to complete the project? im looking to do this myself but it’s my everyday car so i wanna get it done in a timely manner.
About 2-3 hours to remove everything. Another hour to prep headliner. About 2 hours to glue the new headliner. I advise adding sand or weight to it and let the glue cure for 24 hours before installing. Install takes around 1-2 hours.
hi amazing video btw, i had to dig deep in videos to finally find a video specifically for my coupe. i was wondering as im not going to be able to get to putting everything back together the same day. will the airbags deploy while im driving if the panels aren't put back on? also if there's any "absolutely do not miss this step" procedures to make sure the airbags don't deploy. just looked up how much airbag replacement costs and am kinda regretting DIY if the risk of deployment is high.😅
just don’t puncture or hit the airbag equipment. be careful and take your time, you’ll be okay. You may also remove the positive and negative terminal of the battery for more peace of mind. You can drive it without the panels, I did for a day haha.
@@developmentdivision122 thank you for the quick reply! i went ahead and disconnected the srs fuse for triple safety as well😅 battery reconnection and startup worked perfectly! ty again for possibly being the only video on here for coupe models!
Destroyed the hell out of those reverse clips under the "Side Curtain Airbag" logos. They are meant to be struck from the outside with a mallet to release.
I have a sedan & I just took my headliner out a couple hours ago, after 30 minutes of trying to figure it out, you can put your rear seats down & pull it out the trunk, it seems sketchy but mine came out no issues these things can flex pretty hard but just be patient , hopefully this helped

Heck yeah, I'm paying someone
Yea mine is completely sagged but this doesn’t look like a fun job
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
TBH… not even going to try doing this myself 😅 you talked me out of it. Great vid.

Thanks for the video. I'm in the middle of this exact project. Will definitely go side to side when lying the fabric.

18:23 realest shit i’ve heard in a min😭
No ways thanks for the video bro, my Civic needs a new headliner
Looks great. I'll see how long I can go with the squiggly pins till I get the ambition to do all this work.

Thank you for your time. You are awesome
Okay how do you get the corners perfect without wrinking
It would really help if you showed putting it back together.
Men, this video helped me a lot, thanks
I love to hear it! Happy wrenchin!

How much do you think it costs for someone to install it

Can u send me the link of fabric you use because the link in the description not working
Do you have any advice, my civic has 190k miles and I recently replaced the injectors but, continues to studded here and there
What size headliner material did you buy? The link in the description isn't active anymore
The roll was about 6’x9’
Ok, so i dont mean to brag but is it really that uncommon for the back hanger clips to be working? My are working perfectly fine
Thank you 🙏🏻
what is the thing called you have the headliner sitting on?
it is a painters/work stand
It’s not necessary to take out all the plastics, it’s just having a little common sense of how to do things
I just remove the two pillars in front of it, the heandos the light visors and it goes outside

Yo I’m Houston based you think I can contract you to do this for me?
Thanks
super helpfulbut i have a sedan not a coupe. rip me ig
