I'm not against school lunch programs, but if parents could afford food we wouldn't need them! Trudeau is an absolute monster.
Parents shouldn't depend on the state for feeding their children.

Yeah it's back to the whole "nanny state raises your kids, feeds your kids, manages your finances entirely -- I mean, let's take 100% of your pay, and give it back to you how we think we should and say it's okay we fed your kids and gave you a rebate for some of the taxes".. I mean of course this doesn't happen in a couple years. But it never takes as long as you think. History has proven that when the people go along with it and too mousy about it. The problem is so many people in this country have the same ideology. Democracy kind of works better when you have everyone kind of believe and agree in the same stuff... with minor details like "no sales tax vs 1% sale tax" kind of thing... whatever. We've got too many of these "anti-liberals" (as Pierre calls Trudeau) and not enough normal people centrists who are brave enough and willing to vote the hell Trudeau out. They're afraid the PC's are going to take away every social program there is, make you pay $1200/mo. in private health care that is biased and not universal throughout the country or province even. (I mean... how much does a 120,000k/yr. Canadian family pay in health premiums anyways on their taxes?

We (Canadians) should not have to be in this situation.

In a way I'm almost glad I haven't been in my chosen profession since 2020. When I was working 300hours a month I was paying $4700 In deductions. Nowadays it'd likely be over 70%. Initially, I believed Trudeau was out of touch with reality, but now I'm convinced he truly doesn't care. We receive rebates every three months, which are less than what people pay in carbon tax, while we're living paycheck to paycheck- in other words, every two weeks. How does this math add up? Not for us taxpayers.

Well in my town there are zero dentists that will sign up for it.
So far , only 8 out of 1107 dentists in the Maritimes over 3 months have signed on. What a joke, the dentists wanted the details of the program but were stalled with that info, told to do the work first. No wonder they said no.
We don't have a problem with the 'climate " in Canada !! But if you really want to do something positive with a country's climate a long way from us here, "Why don't you go to China ? Theres a difference between food/snacks and MEALS.....
My kids school had both. Healthy robust snacks 2X a day and full lunch available for kids that needed it.
Provincial program supplemented by the parents association. That was 20 yrs ago, had been in place for 20 yrs before that and still going strong today.
Education is provincial jurisdiction; so are social service programs. The infrastructure is already in place and paid for. All he is doing is wasting more money by adding redundant costs.
He should be increasing support to the existing programming. That would actually put food in bellies.
He needs to get back in his own lane.

Most regions in most provinces have school food/snack programs. Which is weird. I had to bring my own food. When Pollievre says "Not one meal served" didnt do him no service. the LIBS just started it, so NO DUH, Theres no food served. BUT... The provinces already have a food program. The Feds are just trying to take over the program already in existence. I am so pissed off, thats all im gonna say.
The local public school I went to has a food program that is run by volunteers, they even do fundraisers to get their money, I’m sure many local schools are the same
Provinces have been running minor food programs for kids for 25-30 years. Justin playing the hero by offering to feed our children is repulsive.

I didn't get a dime from the carbon rebate
I am on cpp and the heating gas in a small house alone uses up more than the rebate I get of 120 dollars every 3 months the carbon tax on that bill alone is well over 40 dollars a month never mind any other things with carbon tax on it so no we do not get more back than we pay in carbon tax. Why do they still keep on lying, who do they think they are fooling. I am very lucky to have adult children to help me. When my husband died he left me with huge debt and I had to use all my savings to pay that off.
I was homeless and sick 7 years ago for a couple years. I knew there was no sense in looking for help for food or health. Something saved me one morning and gave me the ability to walk, talk and eat again. Take care of your friends and family people. Our infrastructures are not here for you, at all.

Ha, ha, ha. Trudeau is a fool. My husband just went for gas today. We have a 2009 4 cylander Honda and it cost him $74.06 for 3/4 of a tank. This month we got $203 rebate. There are four taxes on gas now. That rebate money won't even last us 2 mths. We are rural home owners, with a re-mortgaged house, 77 and 78 yrs. old. We are barely keeping it together. If this keeps up much longer, we are going to lose everything we worked so hard for in our lives.

I remember a time going to the stores not being asked to donate to children’s schools supplies, kid’s backpack, food bank, children’s hospital and the list goes on.
