What we Do need is this in my opinion ! We need to have more people involved in looking after our forests and waters... Each time we have a fire , its like it never happened before ! It has happened before and it will happen again and again and again ! until the forests are properly looked after ! We need masses of young people who can work ( if they are unemployed or students , to do what needs to be done to prevent the wild fires from spreading especially around towns and cities.. Dead wood and brush must me gathered and dealt with. More open spaces between large clusters if trees . More roads with water access so fires can be dealt with sooner ..I'm sure solutions can be found after all these years to prevent forest fires from spreading the way that they do ...Forests should also be monitored much better than they already are..

The majority of forest fires in Canada 2023 were the results of humans! A 54 year old woman from Alberta charged with starting 32 fires, Quebec man pled guilty to starting over 40 fires on and on....How about accepting the fact these fires are a deliberate attempt to scare people into believing fires in Canada are a result of climate change!

Natural gas was the main driver for the US to cut emissions. Sure it still emits carbon but much less so than other fossil fuels.

However, that said, it is very obvious to see that we have a very corrupt Government right in our midst whose main goal is to destroy our beautiful and peaceful Canada. But, those of you who have knowingly and continuously voted this leader and party into office need to accept some accountability. Over these past few years, we, Canadians, have been fully aware of all the corruption, yet, YOU, Liberal voters have enabled the Liberals to do whatever they want to this great country. Wild fires- lived in California. The issue was California’s refusal to allow forest management. Lumbering create fire breaks, removes dead undergrowth and reduces fuel.
This is the same case here. Environmentalists hijacked the forestry industry and forbids taking out dead wood. As a good friend, he’s First Nations, said if Canada continued to look after the forests like his people did in the past we would not be in this place.

Provincial governments are responsible for the care and management of their forests. For over a century little money has gone into maintenance. Cleaning up tinder from the forest floor has never ever been a priority. Reforested areas are planted with coniferous, cheap, fast growing trees. Filled with sap, they quickly become torches. Fire walls in susceptible areas are lacking. Trees are one of our greatest resources. They are also our greatest vanguard against carbon!
The whole carbon being a bad thing is a mis truth. But you are correct about forest management. They need to tart having volunteers to keep an eye out for arsonists also.

A heat pump alone is not enough to heat a home through a Canadian winter. You still need a furnace using either natural gas or oil.
Regarding forest fires in BC. I'm a commercial truck driver in BC.
We had a disasterour forest fire in southern BC, that denuded the moutainsides of trees and scrub causing massive flood run off, which washed out bridges and road beds down streem from the fire.
I drove that stretch of the Coquihalla hiway 1 week before the actual forest fire broke out, then again 4 days later (3 days before) before the forst fire broke out.
What I saw week 1 were hot spots, smoldering areas from lightning strikes, all over the surounding mountains. These smoldering area were 10 to 20 feet in diameter. 4 days later, these smoldering areas were slightly larger but untouched. A couple of day later these smoldering areas exploded into a forest fire.
Why did the province not deal with these hot spots like other governments have in the past?
There is a wait and see attitude amongst Canadian polititians regarding forestry. Well that time it bit them in the a*s but good.
This fire as many others, had/have nothing to do with climate change, just forestry mis management.
Much of what Alex Jones claimed 15-25yrs ago as the sewer's plans have actually come to be. So I wouldn't be discrediting him.

We went to electric baseboard heaters years ago then hydro prices went through the roof. Went to natural gas because I couldnt afford to heat with baseboard heaters. Not relying on electric for main heat ever again

I think more and more ppl are starting to understand that the whole environment crisis is not even close to an actual crisis.

I live in Quebec and the energy minister here said that's impossible to heat all the province with only heat pumps. We'll still need to use natural gas until at least 2040. Guilbault is insane.
