Exactly… if you didn’t have a role to play in Prince’s vision he had no use for you….and he didn’t see it as “personal “ just strictly business. And unfortunately he saw a lot of people who truly cared and loved him as expendable.

Why did they care about him then? I am not a big fan of mind reading but even Prince himself said he kept a part of himself to himself for self protection. So, I don't assume he didn't think about any of these people when he parted ways with them. In fact, more than a few of them stated that he made intermediate contact with them off and on over the years.
