  • After losing the intro & rafter footage, this is a run through of how I build my regular, ordinary Tropical Tiki Bar with roof structure. Barstools were also part of this project, but not part if this clip.
Check out my new novelty Festool t-shirt designs at: island-crown-s...
NOTE: Full build plans are available for my Tropical Rocker, Beach Barstool, Lounger & others, at:

Hey Island Crown, I like your unique way of building the bar those boards on a 45 give a neat louvered effect very cool. I have a question about the roof pitch do you remember the angle that you used? Nice work and keep up the good work.

I'm pretty sure that roof pitch was a 10/12

Hey, the boards you dropped the slats in for the front of the bar (at around 8 minutes) are those done with the router or bought like that? I'm assuming the boards you dropped in the slots are 5/4 like you used for the roof.
Thanks for sharing this with us. I am enjoy these videos.

Yeah, that is brilliant. Would love to see the process for those. Especially if there is a jig you use to make those. Great stuff!

The vertical 2x4's with the grooves come that way from the local lumber yard. They are sold as pairs in either 8ft or 14ft lengths

@@mammal186 No jig for those. They come from the lumber yard with the grooves already routed out. They're sold as pairs for left and right side, in 8ft or 14ft lengths

Why does everyone speed up their videos, please can you make these at a slower pace or at least have a option to click on something that will let you see it better... these old eyes don't see how they use to.

Sorry about that. I'm going through a learning curve with video equipment and ended up without my desired starting footage, so I just wanted to get the job completed and move on to the next one. I'm thinking about filming in stages: Roof, walls, surface. That might be easier on me and better for the viewer. If you have any specific points you'd like me to cover, I'd be happy to do so.
