Star Wars was the first movie I ever saw in a movie theater :) 1979 is my all time favorite year for music personally... but the 5 years on either side of it had some very awesome music as well :) I had tons of cassette tapes and of course our GHETTO BLASTERS (bet you can't even call them that these days?) and the two sides so you could play one one side and record your own mixed tape cassettes on the others. (And ya I had a few dozen 8 tracks too - should I admit I had a crush on Shawn Cassidy... had all his 8 tracks and a life size poster of him on my door :) OMG I have no idea what I saw in him, Eric Estrada however... he was still hot a decade later :)

I love Stevie’s voice so damn much. I remember hearing “Landslide” a few times as a little girl and I think ever since I’ve tied her voice with my more carefree childhood memories. Singing or playing pretend with my cousins at my grandparents’ farm (RIP), driving my go kart around my dad’s pasture, listening to my middle school bestie talk about her witchy family. Now that I’m older I can follow along with the lyrics and get a more comprehensive understanding of the music. I don’t just hear old familiar tunes, I feel them. I imagine that will continue as I get older, I’m only a couple weeks shy of 23 right now. With both the familiarity and comprehension, it almost feels like Stevie is talking to me, like an aunt, giving me advice and wisdom from her own life to help me feel better when I’m down. Or maybe I’m just a little emotional rn and over-complicating my feelings...probably that. Regardless, whether it’s because we grew up with Fleetwood, discovered them through a juice-drinking skateboarder, or something in between, I’m glad so many people can come together here and enjoy this awesome music.
