    Thanks for the review. I bought mine, today, at walmart for $97. It was the last one on the shelves with their Ozark brand next to it. I did a couple of searches and read reviews. Most of what I read was from Amazon. First, let me say, any cooler I have ever owned, I never tipped over, so a water tight lid was not an issue for me. Spending nearly $50 for a coleman and noting that the lid was just as warm on the inside as it was on the outside upset me. Yeti is over priced. For what it is and manufactured mainly in China, it to me is all marketing and hype. I have been watching these cooler show up and have been watching the reviews on them. When I stumbled on this one, American Made, and it holds ice for a long time, I knew this one was for me. Thanks for the review.

    Bought 2 of them and took them on a 8 day family vacation. 1 Cooler was full of ice and the other was full of frozen water bottles. By the end of the vacation there was still ice in some of the water bottles and about 1/8 of ice in the other. Cost of unit + performance = a great buy.

    Would be curious how sealed these high end coolers really are if they tipped over with melted ice inside. I emailed you last summer about how my brand new Pelican cooler tipped over in the back of an SUV (sounds dumb but it happened) and within seconds an easy couple gallons leaked all over. Seams like a lot are now made with the lid gaskets having a small gap at the ends. I'm sure that these small gaps have to due with the fact the lids would be hard to open without the gap.Glad to see your back at posting reviews again!!

    I bought one of these coolers around May last year (2018). In the summer months it gets pretty hot where I live in Alabama and for a while I was happy with my purchase. Unfortunately by September after riding in the back of my truck sitting in the sun, rain high and low temperature changes the lid warped upwards on both sides which bypasses the rubber gasket. I just returned it yesterday (January 2019) in exchange for the Ozark Trail 52 quart. Hopefully the lifetime company will beef up the lid on these coolers then they would be a great, cheaper high performance cooler alternative. Wouldn’t recommend for long term use. Hope this helps!

    As a Coleman Extreme 5 day owner I would consider upgrading to something $100 like this one.

    • @UMepher
      @UMepher 4 года назад +1

      I've had a couple of similar sized Coleman Extremes for years, and they've been great, especially for the price. I bought one of these this Spring, and it was definitely an upgrade and a purchase I don't regret. Paid about $80 and the Cooler was great all Summer, including camping out at some music festivals, one of which was a 6-day trip to sweaty southern Tennessee. You can't go wrong with a Coleman Extreme for under $50, but if you can afford closer to $100 you won't be disappointed, and you won't wish you had spent 2x-4x as much for a Yeti/Orca/Grizzly/Pelican/Engel/Rtic/Unicorn/Alien/Bushwhacker/Otter/BananaPudding/whatever.

    I bought this cooler because I am sick of buying ice everyday when I go camping. I am not taking it out and about, throwing it in the bed of the truck or in the fishing boat. I camp in a camper that has limited freezer space and I want ice. So, $300 for that seemed ridiculous. The lifetime cooler is perfect. I don't mind spending $100. With the amount and type of use I will use it for, this thing should last me a decade or more.

    I am going to be a critic on the ice challenge with the extreme lattiude igloo I bought one at Costco to go fishing he never kept ice for a day and the temperature inside was not very cold compared to my old coleman. Coming back with salmon bout a bag of ice at 11am the ice was gone by 1am. When coming home wrapped the way I do none of the salmon was close to melting after a 11 hr drive. I guess what I would like to see for tests is real world testing. As if going camping and having to leave the cooler in the car ie my coolers are 4 to 6 710ml pop bottles frozen How do these coolers perform. I am trying that now in my apartment with the lifetime it's 75 in here for temperature.

      @TheOpethium 5 лет назад

      @@HammerHed13 there's now way of telling based off of their website from what I can tell. The new model # is 90949. Lifetime confirmed that they've been shipping the new model to Walmart, though they won't be putting it out till the old stock is mostly moved. When I got my new one last week, there was one new model and about a half dozen of the old model.

    But....
    It was just 2 cans of soda. You need too try it with more items and pre chill the cooler. Stocked with bacon milk cheese drinks and some fruit. My ice will last 5 days. I found that the brick of ice will last longer. So 2 big bricks items are cold 5-6 days. On the 6th or 7th day you have no ice the but the water will be really cold.

    Anyone care to share their experiences with the Lifetime after 2-3 years of use? Durable? As much I love the new Yeti colors, etc. Hard for me to justify 400 bucks(haul) for something I may use 3-4 times a year.

      I found a Tupperware that fits from front to back that works great,it does make there lid a bit tighter to close,but the way the latches are it works perfect. You would just have to measure it and go to the store and try and find one that's close, trial and era.

      HA! I know what you mean, but his suggestion gives me the idea of just finding the biggest, tallest rectangular plastic container that will fit in the cooler. Make that side for dry stuff, and the other side for drinks. That might actually work better than a basket.

    It makes you wonder if probably would keep ice if it's never opened for 7 days. But who packs a cooler full of ice and Beverages and food but never opens it. I see you opened it once a day and that's cool but who only opens up a cooler once a day we should be opening it up at least 4 or 5 times a day to be realistic.
    But thank you very much for your demo it definitely helps narrow it down for sure

    not the best way to test it people buy cooler to fill it with drinks(not fill with ice) for parties or camping. 80% drinks maybe 20% ice. drinkers or in camping people may be opens at least 36 times. put two 24 packs of beer. 12 pack of coke. and 12 bottles of water. an open every 5 min. at least. 48 times👍

    • @CoolersOnSale
      @CoolersOnSale  5 лет назад

      We had to test this way so that we have consistency across all coolers that we test. When testing 20+ coolers at once, we cant fill every cooler with 80% drinks and realistically go through those. This way we have consistent results that can be compared across all coolers we ever review.
