I just bought the Scrambler 900 (Diablo red/ silver grey)this week and it is a blast to ride. I'm a young guy in mid 20's I enjoy everything about this bike it's a lot of fun. A real head turner from the ladies. It had a bad ass raw rocker look that is just bad ass. I am glad I made this purchase. #neverlookingback#triumph fever#YOLO#
I have a feeling that Ducati got this win only because they needed the publicity for their new bike. Triumph has been tested more and refined. I think the triumph wins.
The scrambler is a very awesome bike, I think if I was going to buy one bike as an only bike (which is definitely not the case for me) I'd go with the Triumph scrambler. Not that you could really go wrong with any of them, but yeah, if I had to just buy one I'd probably do that.
What a BS comparison. Nothing but praises from everyone from the Triumph, but because it didn't have the acceleration of the Ducati, it got 2nd place? LoL, riiight. The Triumph is the only true "Scrambler" I see here. The off-road capability of these bikes should have been at the fore-front for judging a winner. The Ducati seems nothing more than a poser bike for their hipster fanboys. It's as much a Scrambler as the Hypermotard is a Supermotard.
yeah unfortunately you talk absolute bullshit though. I rode them both, and if you like it or not, objectively the Ducati Scrambler is better in every single way. it has more power, but whats more important... its LITERALLY 44 kilos lighter. thats approx. 90 pounds. mate, thats what the whole engine of my XL600 weights. and i rode them, the triumph feels incredibly boring, heavy and sluggish, while the ducati just gives you loads of confidence and works like a charm. the Ducati Scrambler is one of the most fun bikes i have ever ridden. the triumph has the engine characteristics of a car, and nearly weights as much.
Agreed the Ducati scrambler is more of a street look a like bike. The Triumph is a real scrambler. You also don't buy a scrambler for acceleration. Hello naked bike or rocket if you want to go faster.
1:42-Let me Guess. Ranked @ # 2? One decade old is 40 years in motorcycle years, if you do not keep up, Triumph merely did electronic and cosmetic surgery. Major redesign for a trusted offering can be hazardous, so why risk it, specifically if Scramblers are not in the main stream of the sales list. And development of scrambler cycles is on the back burners of most forward thinking motorcycle mfgs when it comes to sales potential. My choice in motorcycles is definitely a scrambler. Just wish they were more on the front burner of cycle designers. The cycle world needs a change. Sorry for the poser comment. I was just pissed and have been, regarding the cycle mfgs ignoring my favorite cycle the scrambler.
Would rather a supermoto. Better suspension, better handing due to higher ground clearance and lighter weight . Unfortunately they don't seem to have the appeal like they once did a number of years ago.
triumph scram is not 1 but 100 times better than ducati sc...scrambler(?) if i can call it scrambler. triumph is completely another concept of bike. it s a mix.of comfort, safe, elegance, style etc.
I have a Bonneville. It's super boring and slow. The brakes are pretty bad too. You HAVE to use the front and rear if you want to actually stop. It would be a great bike for someone who doesn't want to go fast and just cruise around, however.
Clint Keener Thats the point of a Bonnie, its for cruising and commuting. If you want a triumph thats faster, wilder or more exciting, get a Thruxton, Speed triple, or Street Triple.
Turbo Lover No, I don't own a plain bonnie, I have a bonnie America which is a great bike, Not super fast, but a great overall bike. And I don't have to own the bike to know what its for. I have rhode Bonneville's. They're not my style. If you bought one expecting it to be super fast, then your a moron. It's heavy and under powered for it's weight to be fast, and one of the cheapest bikes Triumph puts out, but it is the classic style and dependability that sells it. You either modify it, cut the weight, change the pipes, bore the engine, or you go for a bike built like a cafe racer (Thruxton), or the sport bikes if you want speed.
You won't believe me but I can keep up with sportbikes in the twistys on a 08 triumph scrambler with Avon tires lol but I'm a good rider and I've rode the same roads for years now but the scrambler has plenty of power to use in the mountains.
I'd take the Ducati over the Triumph, but not by much. Nothing beats the Triumph's looks, and parallel twins make the sweetest exhaust noise there is. Still, the old Ducati thumper scramblers got imprinted on my brain back then, and...
All the Triumph classics have had the same exact setup for the last 7-ish years....lol... The funny part (annoying part?) is the warm-up fuel enrichment is still manual for nostalgia sake, so you still have to choke it when cold. They're really great bikes, sure, you can't tell the difference aesthetically between one with carbs, and one without, but if that's the reason you don't buy this bike, then you were never going to buy it anyway.
Testing these bikes stock is pretty useless. Most people will replace pipes (you can take delivery with an Arrows), gut airbag, and piss off the dog shit shocks. Airbus removal too.

Yeah have fun when the ducati breaks down. I have 28,000 miles on my Triumph and have never had a single problem!
Depends on which kind of ducati
anybody knows what googles Adam Waheed is using?
cheers
Damn, I think I should get a Scrambler as 2nd Bike :-) I already got a Bonnie

Where did you ride the Ducati? Please share your off road experience with us :)
You mad bro

ApexIXMR i want to see a comparison of the real ducati scrambler and not the icon. that looks like it will compare with the triumph.

Nice,... Nice job on the review.
Thanks.

You lost me at fake carburetors they should tape a chrome "air scoop" on it too.

That muffler side Can hurt ya legs when it's hot
That's why it has a two part design, with a cowl covering it!
ne capite di moto come cicciolina ne capisce di fisica astronomica. ma la triumph sta 10 spanne sopra. vergogna
