Discovering your videos 4 months ago has totally reignited my love for watches. I’m 51 now but distinctly remember at the age of 12 me and my best mate drooling through jewellers windows in Bham at seiko’s we couldn’t afford but buying many ingersol and timex watches. Now selling my 30 plus over priced fashion watches and bought my first seiko at 51 an SKX 009 had it for 2 weeks and love it, first of many. Anyway huge thank you please don’t stop as watch your videos daily during my 100 mile commute to London on train. I too now have greedy little horological mits , thanks from a London Bobby .
Hi TGV - I had been saving for over a year for the '57 and shortly before buying I saw your videos on the Explorer 214270 and fell in love with that. I'm close to making the purchase at a local AD now, but have not forgotten the '57 and will begin saving for it again. Thanks for this video and I emphasize with your wanting to keep this watch! Best of luck in your decision. Best Regards, John
My dad have me a pre moon omega speedmaster reduced for my high school graduation. It’s my favorite watch. More so that the submariner he have me after my college grad. Omega is by far my favorite watch brand. They make watches that suit my personality very well- racing and diving...
Wow! My budget for watches is very low. I was planning on a Speed Master Reduced in the future. Now, I may have to rethink my plans. This is one beautiful watch. The presentation of the box and accessories makes it all the more desirable. Thanks TGV and thanks Moyer for the loan.
I can’t believe how well preserved everything is, specially the leather and nato strap!!!! The nato even has the blue cover in it. Great video as always!
What a beautiful speedmaster! If there is a speedy that suits you the most, this is it, TGV. Not only the size but also the vintagey and luxurious character of it. Like you, I dont like the faux patina on it, but I cant deny that it is a real beauty. Ive been waiting for you to share this beauty. Looking forward for the full review. Cheers!
I inspected the set at the Omega Boutique in Zurich last month. They are gorgeous watches! The ONLY reason I didn’t buy the Railmaster on the spot was the lack of screw in crown. The Seamaster is the only screw in of the trilogy. For a Chrono, that Speedmaster is cooler than anything available. Great review as always sir!
That’s the watch for you. From what I know about you. I think your going to grow to love that one. If you can get past the faux patina, I predict it’s not going back. The optional leather strap was a treat but when you pulled out the authentic NATO, I almost died. Cheers to you and thank you for the great videos. Look forward to seeing more of this omega in all its variations.
I can totally understand that. If you decided to buy it and have two speedies, I wouldn't blame you! The speedy pro is a classic, enjoy it! Thank you, Best regards, TGV
So entertaining and educational every one of your videos Tristano. Fascinating book about watches and everything you need to know about them. Excellent! Thanks for sharing and love your passion.
I would sell my entire collection to buy that speedy if wasn't the faux patina. I had the non-limited edition SM300 master co-axial for a while and eventually the faux patina got to me and I sold it. Oh and that "glidelock" style clasp is now standard in Omega since around 2014. Great video TGV!
I bought a vintage omega sea-master from 1968. The year i was born, as a 50th birthday pres for myself. I always wanted an omega and this was an affordable way of owning one. It was 950 pounds. Sounds alot but considering how much new omegas are i think i have a bargain. Works well and looks really good.
so happy!!! was looking at some speedmasters today, thought about how you haven´t made a video about one for awhile. and just before sleep i see youve uploaded a video! what a treat
So pleased to hear Zaki, great horologically obsessed minds thinking alike obviously ;-) May you dream of speedies in your sleep! Thank you, Best regards, TGV
Here's something to think about Speedmasters. Save your money now for 2019. Because there is surely going to be a limited edition to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Moon landing. I know Omega arguably do far too many special editions and what have you. But some are way more important than others and the 50th Anniversary is going to be one of them.
Just bought a Speedmaster and the Omega sales guy at the shop said they had something really big planned for next year, and said he was going to organising some special events at the store etc. etc. He wasn't giving many details but seemed quite excited.
Hi TGV. Would you please dedicate a show for talking about the difference between Mechanical and Quartz and why Mechanical watches are more sought after even though Quartz watches are extremely more accurate and generally less costly and more easy to service. Thanks a lot. I love your channel and the content!
Looks like a cracking new piece! Curious to hear your forthcoming review. Just heard a great quote & it reminded me of you and the channel: "Being male is a matter of birth. Being a man is a matter of age. But being a gentleman is a matter of choice." Cheers! Maybe one day I'll trust the Post enough to lend my 1967 Navitimer 806 AOPA for review. Time will tell. Keep up the great work, TGV! 👍⌚👍
Thanks for the info on Nardin's book. I paused your video to go on line and order it. Now, I have something fun to look forward to reading. Well done...just another reason why I recently subscribed to your channel. What a beautiful watch!.
Fantastic video. I love the book reviews. It's something that's just not done enough. Actually, I think you are the only one who does them. I feel like books on horology greatly enhance the enjoyment of this hobby. And for people that don't know, on some of your previous videos, you review some excellent examples of what can be had for absolute bargains. Brilliant stuff. This Omega may very well send my wallet to hospital. And just when I thought I reduce the. Collection a bit. Oh well. Thanks Tristano for yet another great piece. Cheers.
Hello TGV. That is a fantastic book sleeve. I have been looking for a watch book for a while, now on is way. Looking forward to the watch review. Onwards and upwards!
Oh my god! My mouth was gaping the whole time! What a stunning piece... I love the sunken subdials! The steel bezel is a work of art. I think I’m in love! Oh yeah and cool book.
Hello, Tristano! What an amazing piece! I'm also glad that Moyer is helping you out with the watch review. I can attest to the great service Moyer provides. Moyer's is just a 5 minutes drive from where I live so I bought my first Omega Seamaster Pro from them there. They have a lot of watches and great people to talk to. Best regards, Salvador
Salvador!!!! Fantastic to hear from you, It has been a while. I hope you are well. Thank you so much for sharing that, you can see why I recommended them. Onwards and upwards. Best regards, TGV
LOL thank you but sadly I can not afford to keep this beauty. But it certainly will be fun to review and experiment it for the next few weeks! Thank you Alex, Best regards, TGV
This watch is so... ... BEAUTIFUL !!! You've make a great choice, she's just one of the best watch of the 20' century. She's smell like old times luxury objets. PS : If you dislike it because she's too darker, you can send me this watch... 😉
I got for Valentine's day, "a man and his watch" by Matt Hranek. Famous watches and famous owners and their stories. Highly recommended. Top video my friend.
The Urban Gentry I have a 1989 remake of the 57 speedy. Bought it 3 years ago, it cost me US$1900, and I had it serviced and repair last year for US400 including parts. I wonder what would it cost to buy one in mint condition now? It’s 42mm and the replication is not a full likeness, but with a bit modernised styling. Although I won’t ever sell it, I still would like to know if it keeps its value well
Wow that book is brilliant! Such a clean aesthetic and that poster is such a great idea love the artwork. Will have to pick this up. Wouldn't mind seeing a top 10 of your favorite books in general not just on watches.
The watch look fantastic I'm actually considering looking to buying one ...just one thing ..I know that you're so excited and impressed about the packaging but after a while you realize that it's over done because the box are so huge, I had the omega 007 and it has a similar big box they are a hassle to store at home and it's a big problem when you are selling the watch( cost a lot of money to ship the box 📦 )
Very true indeed and an excellent point, my home is full of the ruddy things!!! But I am sure you can understand why I had to share it this time. Thank you, Best regards, TGV
This might be one of my favorite watches ever, certainly a challenger to the Moon watch for wrist space in my eyes. Just Beautiful. Well done on the vid TGV, can't wait for the whole review. Send my condolences to your wallet!
Beautiful Omega! I recently fell in love with mechanical/auto dress watches, i want to ease my way into this wonderful world of craftmanship and be well prepared before i make my first expensive buy. Will the 60€ 'Parnis Power Reserve' with the Sea-Gull ST2505 movement be a good starting point for a 'newbie' like myself? I "chose" this particular model because it gathers most of the features i look for: Open heart, power reserve and back display case, the day of the month is a welcome extra.. Your opinion will be apreciated!
Thanks for the book info - definitely will order one this weekend. Looking forward to your top 10 list - always looking for interesting watch books. Have you read "Marie Antoinette's Watch" - If not, I recommend it. Like you I"ve not owned an Omega for a long while. Love them, just not sure which model or when it'll happen. Perhaps a 57 Speedy! But then the Aqua Terra always calls to me too. Great video Tristano! Ciao, John
That is one nice looking speedy! ... never seen that model before? (there are so many!). The brushed center links and stainless bezel are cool. Looking forward to the review!
does anyone know of a good, decently prices watch that's kind of dressy? maybe near the price point of the watch i just got, from seiko or anything really, i want to get an automatic next.
Another awesome video TGV. Loving the 1945 WW2 Omega...beautiful in its simplicity. In fact it’s helping with my recovery of acute watch envy following the Rolex Space-Dweller video....I want one here and I want one now!!😂
That Speedy is just gorgeous....ah I will own one some day hopefully. I’m slowly starting to put together a horological and Renaissance book collection at the moment so thanks for the review, another one to pick up for sure.👍
Hi TGV 100% on the coolness scale! Especially like that old school bracelet. Looking forward to the in depth review. I think it’s a fine move from Omega that they’re releasing historical remakes. I like quite a few of these re-issues of which there seem to be a lot at the moment from many manufacturers. The thing I do not like at all is the “faux” patina. I’d rather have the watch as it looked in 1957 when new rather than a fake vintage look.
Great unboxing. You only film with available light. It looks good but not great. Get a Videolight to light the watches from the other side, so you get them lit by both sides!
What do you think of the new Omega Speedmaster '57 Co-Axial 41.5mm (331.10.42.51.01.002)? I really like that it's an automatic and a date, but does it also have the same kind of heritage as the "original" 1957 like yours in the video?
Hands down the nicest Speedmaster offered by Omega for a very long time! Just stunning... Your enthusiasm during this video was a joy to watch.
That retro Speedmaster is one of the most attractive watches that I've ever seen.
I fully agree with that statement..
Lucky me :-)
Discovering your videos 4 months ago has totally reignited my love for watches. I got goose bumps as soon as you opened the box.... out of this world!
Hands down this is the best watch channel on RUclips. Great work mate. Cheers.
TGV, thank you for making my days a bit easier. Your videos are something fun I look forward to in the week.
Hearing that makes it all worth it.
Thank you Stanley,
Best regards,
TGV
I can´t quite believe that design is 60 years old. It looks so timeless and balanced, really gorgeous. Thanks for sharing!
Hi TGV - I had been saving for over a year for the '57 and shortly before buying I saw your videos on the Explorer 214270 and fell in love with that. This unboxing is pure fun to watch. And the watch itself is truly amazing! Great channel you got here TGV. Regards from Poland.
I bought a Speedy Pro last year....and yet have been eyeing this '57 Broad Arrow to go with it. This video has officially ignited SERIOUS WATCH ENVY!!
I can totally understand that. If you decided to buy it and have two speedies, I wouldn't blame you!
The speedy pro is a classic, enjoy it!
Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV

Sensational watch. A grail watch for many that is (almost!) affordable
Wow that's a beauty. Can't wait for the full review.
so happy!!!

So much attention to detail went into this watch. I love all of the brushed steel on the sides of the case and the bracelet. Very jealous, TGV!

That is a great looking watch ...... much better than I expected..... Good review.
This is my dream watch, I dont even care about about AP, patek or vacheron anymore, this is all I need
Love the details, the grey NATO, everything so gorgeous on this one! :) Best regards from Brazil folks!
Thanks for the suggestion, Tristano, just what I’ve been looking for, I ordered the book!
I usually don’t like speedies but I like this one. Let’s see the review . Thanks tgv
Fantastic video. I love the book reviews. It's something that's just not done enough. Actually, I think you are the only one who does them. Like that you have covered the laptop camera with a post it. 😊 The universal solution 😄
Beautiful Omega Speed master. And gorgeous box! Damn! So many beautiful watches to choose from and only so much money to spend.
Stunning Speedmaster!
Oh my god! My mouth was gaping the whole time! What a stunning piece... I love the sunken subdials! The steel bezel is a work of art. I think I’m in love! Oh yeah and cool book.
Thank you Sean :D

I was born in 1957. I think you've unearthed my grail watch. Well spotted, sir !
That is a beautiful watch, it fits you perfectly. Looks like a keeper to me.

Excellent watch TGV! Wear it in good health 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻!
This watch is so...
... BEAUTIFUL !!!
You've make a great choice, she's just one of the best watch of the 20' century.
She's smell like old times luxury objets.
PS : If you dislike it because she's too darker, you can send me this watch... 😉
Will definitely be picking up the magic of watches, there’s always more to learn !
Glad to hear it, superb little book.
Thank you Louis,
Best regards,
TGV
Keep it, looks like it's definitely the one for you. I don't know why you scrapped the FOIS, but this one is definitely your style.
Sublime.
Refined.
Way to go, TGV. Keep it up mate!
Wow absolutely stunning piece !
A good book is worth any price. That is a very nice Speedmaster, by the way. I'd love to own it.
I got for Valentine's day, "a man and his watch" by Matt Hranek. Famous watches and famous owners and their stories. Highly recommended. Top video my friend.
Sounds splendid. What a cool Valentines day gift!
Thank you, I will check it out.
Best regards,
TGV
That WWII Omega is stunning. Just simple and exquisite
Thank you Che, very kind. It certainly has a charm.
Best regards,
TGV
I have truly reached watch Nirvana, watching your unboxing of this example of Horological artistry.
I've just discovered this channel and love it very much. TGV you are a scholar and a gentleman... and you thoughtfulness sets you apart. Fr. Eugenio
Thank you so much sir, very kind of you to say.
Welcome aboard Eugenio.
Best regards,
TGV
Just pure class, yes its going to cost you but wow what a piece to own. You wont be able to stop grinning like the Cheshire Cat!
looking forward to the book video, i am a bit lost because i dont know where to start, this should help
Will TGV be able to resist this temptation? Make your bets, gentlemen.
TGV is a strong will man. But not that strong. LOL
well he can resist everything except temptation.
Of course he is not going to take it...Its not a Seiko and it's a beautiful Swiss watch...
Although I won’t ever sell it, I still would like to know if it keeps its value well
Louis Nardin was part of the WatchesTV team on youtube, great content :3
Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
I understand ..and it's a beautiful watch I think you should go for it 😅
Good review, thanks TGV!
Loved the casual runic-symbols joke
This might be one of my favorite watches ever, certainly a challenger to the Moon watch for wrist space in my eyes. Just Beautiful. Well done on the vid TGV, can't wait for the whole review. Send my condolences to your wallet!
LOL Great comment my friend, condolences sent!
Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
Beautiful Omega! I recently fell in love with mechanical/auto dress watches, i want to ease my way into this wonderful world of craftmanship and be well prepared before i make my first expensive buy. Will the 60€ 'Parnis Power Reserve' with the Sea-Gull ST2505 movement be a good starting point for a 'newbie' like myself? I "chose" this particular model because it gathers most of the features i look for: Open heart, power reserve and back display case, the day of the month is a welcome extra.. Your opinion will be apreciated!
You should get The Theory of Horology by Didier Jeanneret. It is the textbook that Swiss watchmaking schools uses. Excellent choice of Speedmaster.
The Böker plus urban trapper is a must-have knife for a gentleman such as yourself
And thank you for all your terrific content as always!
That is quite simply beautiful.
Thank you ever so much for making me a Seiko addict good Sir.
The best kind of watch enthusiast ;-)
I am honored,
Thank you Joe,
Best regards,
TGV
Hahaha i love your joy and passion! I always laugh but it is admirable!
Looks like its brand new! I often look on ebay but had some bad luck purchasing used watches
It IS brand new!
I just got my first watch, the Seiko Sna411 :) i paid 285 for it but i fell in love with it so I couldn't resist.
does anyone know of a good, decently prices watch that's kind of dressy? maybe near the price point of the watch i just got, from seiko or anything really, i want to get an automatic next.
Love it that you use your hands as a reference for size because I'd have to guess that your hands aren't the best reference
in size I mean :'D
Another awesome video TGV. Loving the 1945 WW2 Omega...beautiful in its simplicity. In fact it’s helping with my recovery of acute watch envy following the Rolex Space-Dweller video....I want one here and I want one now!!😂
LOL, thank you sir
"acute watch envy" I might have to use that one! Good one, thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
the book of course !!
Impressive watch, the bracelet is nice, like to see it on the Nato. Nice domed crystal.
That watch is very sharp... would love to have one. 👌🏼
OMG ! That might be also the Omega for me ! Juste love it !!! Can't wait for the full review 😊
That Speedy is just gorgeous....ah I will own one some day hopefully. I’m slowly starting to put together a horological and Renaissance book collection at the moment so thanks for the review, another one to pick up for sure.👍
Hi TGV
100% on the coolness scale! Especially like that old school bracelet. Looking forward to the in depth review.
I think it’s a fine move from Omega that they’re releasing historical remakes. It seems to be a bit of a trend these years for some brands, focusing on the brands original values. And horology indeed is about history too, so no wonder...
I really like that fine book too.
Keep up the good work👍
Thank you Kjeld, although you approval does not hell my wallet!!! LOL
But seriously, "focusing on the brands original values" well said sir.
Best regards,
TGV
I like quite a few of these re-issues of which there seem to be a lot at the moment from many manufacturers. The thing I do not like at all is the “faux” patina. I’d rather have the watch as it looked in 1957 when new rather than a fake vintage look.
Beautiful watch. Everything just works.
Thank you Ricardo, so glad you approve.
Just out of interest, out of the trilogy, which would you pick?
Best regards,
TGV
The Urban Gentry Definitely the Seamaster 300.
Gorgeous watch!
Great unboxing. You only film with available light. It looks good but not great. Get a Videolight to light the watches from the other side, so you get them lit by both sides!
Thank you John, thankfully I did that on this video so I am very pleased with the result, personally I can't stand over lit videos.
Best regards,
TGV
🤤wow - beautiful, can’t wait for “the full monty”
That domed crystal is bananas! Still prefer the good old Speedy Pro moon watch though.
Governor to guru always review watches I love fantastic job
Oh great, another watch I didn't know I wanted.
What do you think of the new Omega Speedmaster '57 Co-Axial 41.5mm (331.10.42.51.01.002)? I really like that it's an automatic and a date, but does it also have the same kind of heritage as the "original" 1957 like yours in the video?
Currently looking at a Speedmaster to buy....this notification was a sign. I think you just cost me a chunk of change TGV
Adding that one to the bucket list, my friend
