Always so insightful! I'm a modern/ standard player for the most part, but I admire your card analysis and strategy perspective and I feel that you're thoughts on synergy often help me brew or evaluate cards in my own sphere. Thanks so much for all your content and sorry you weren't feeling 100% over the event.
Awesome event! I still enjoy tivet (I’ve had good results against every deck in this tourney) and I built mine to my style. I have copy artifact in my decks all year before i got popular lol. Did the same original brew with Kinnan, amd magda. Almost done with my temur dargo/thrass brew. 🙌🏻 I despise blue farm so from this list, I’ll choose Erinis red and green is my fave here
I don't get why all these Tnk lists run fellwar stone, isn't another talisman more consistent for example? Great tournament report, Ian almost won another one ! I'll definitely have to try these steal/copy enchantment shenanigans aswell as necropotence
@thomasantoine6194 thank ya! I think it just tends to give them access to the most colors. Like Exotic Orchard it mainly has some tension turn 1 but most pods it should do you better than a 2c talisman.
So I run abdel and hoarding broodlord as my win lines in tymna Malcolm, and I think the mardu list should add buried alive. Put Abdel and hoarding into the graveyard with buried alive and animate dead Abdel infinitely into the last trigger reanimating brood. Use him to look for 1 of the other two enchantment reanimates, to reanimate Abdel again flickering hoarding infinitely, but really you only need him one more time to tutor bowmaster. So in conclusion, they should run buried alive. It’s a two card 5 mana combo which isn’t the worst to ask.

The problem with magic tournaments at cons is the increased cost, and the inability to participate in the con, if you are doing well in your tournament.
Swiss scoring has invalidated the supposed “best players”. Fishbowl left a bad impression. I watched the “best players” wince and cower to decks that “weren’t cEDH”. Play to not lose is how they play in the US. Playing to win is how they play in Europe and Japan.
Wish the cap was higher. I live in Ohio and there were 15 people here locally that couldn’t go and we are a smaller community. Would have easily made it to 512.
@pokedadsam9041 oh yeah definitely demand for bigger events, I'm sure they just want to make sure they can support those numbers properly. Will probably require more rounds at that point too.
Honestly? A bit disappointed. Just more of the same. Ufarm, Sisay, Rogsi and now a couple of nadu dumbasses (replacing Kinnans, which is still the better simic deck of the two imho, if people end up respecting nadu properly). I hoped MH3 would even the scales a bit, but despite the fact ufarm didn't get anything relevant, and other decks did, it's still dominating. Ah well. Best thing about the event: Kizzet breaking ankles with the rogue brew! Great to see, but also not too many delusional clones even attempt playing it, because that'd be disastrous :P But honestly, I don't think they will after a couple of rounds of testing.
@igiwarcraft yeah these super competitive platinum events tend to have people playing pretty safe with the best established stuff. Fortunately, I've got some cooler stuff coming up next. I still think it'll be a bit before things settle post MH3, and it'll take a lot to get people to not play TnK even if it's shown to not be the best deck with stats.
@Coulrophobia29 I think most of the info on that is already public and I don't think I could add much to it or really want to make a video on it at the moment.
@@jamallynch1218 Stories will vary but basically, he got the rules in unsportsmanlike conduct invoked on him and TopDeck dropped him from their championship series leaderboard (meaning he isn't qualified for the Invitational anymore either).
For someone listening and not watching, there's starting to be way too many abbreviations of cards. No need to try to be cool just keep it simple like you've done before.
I'll have to be mindful of it, though this series kinda relies on visuals, so I don't know if videos will ever be fully accessible through pure audio, especially if I just kinda goof while recording.
What did you think of this event? Which deck was your favorite? And who do you think will win the Topdeck Invitational? Let me know down below!
@lemorascards I would love to see an erinis/urchin deck tech breakdown!

As new to cedh how do you pick your deck? Are you looking for just the colors?
