He's not a nostalgia act. He's keeping it fresh and not relying on the past. Pretty good for a musician his age.
Man if you really listen listen this music IS NEXT GENERATION more music per inch technical minutiae pervades throughout
100% agree.
A nostalgia act? Ok.
He must be a god are something.
@@badfairy9554 Nah, just human.
He,s the only one left from the 80,s doing anything new. That,s why he,s a Numan.😊
I see what you did there
The new Gary Newman music is amazing and the Skaparis Orchestra are so so good and compliment him so much
This version with Skaparis orchestra is my favourite, it's on another level.
Gary just keeps gettin fuckin betrer!!! Im covered in chills. Such an intense performance. Beautiful chorus vocals and orchestra. Even the conductor was rockin out!
In the early 2000's I was really worried about his music and career, I never guessed he would come back with such a vengeance!
Yesss!
The conductor (Simon Robertshaw) also plays bass guitar in a heavy metal band.
This guy rocks both genres, but the orchestra really compliments Gary's work, most of it comprising of syth strings.
@@fatadayfelix Thats interesting. Just goes to show how true talent transcends genres. And i agree with you.
And now, a year later, Gary already has more great music available. The new tunes are amazing!
This may very well be the first time I've seen someone turn a full orchestra into something contemporary. Sure, I know there's been plenty of "orchestra plus X rock/metal band", but this is the first time I've seen them as actually part of the overall look, and getting right into it - even the conductor actually looks like he SHOULD be part of the band!
Check out Devin Townsend plus orchestra
Also check out Anathema's concert, Live @ Plovdiv(its on RUclips)....Absolutely awesome.
The difference is one of crossover vs integration
Gary's voice is so powerful the guy sounds just as good live as he does on record the man is amazing
Those vocals are remixed/recorded. Never has the levels right live. Still awesome.
@@colinwright4139 I wat at a gig 2 years ago, unfortunatelly chorus was a lipsync. Still awesome, IMO in that show (S-H-O-W, real show) final effect was that what matters so I am not angry.
@@PodgardleAlberta Are you sure? I saw him 3 times on Savage tour, no lip sync (persia sang with backing track)
❤
I have always loved Gary Numan but found an even deeper respect for him when he came out of hiding with a new found respect and love for HIS own sound. TY Trent for helping him find his way back. I saw him live on Exile Filmore but what he is doing now is just amazing.. Nothing touches my soul and opens my eyes more.... keep up the bone chilling work.
I myself am Ghost Nation even at 65.
He speaks the absolute truth just like I do.
❤
Great song, lovely lady on the cello at 2:05 i'm in love❤. Gary Numan fan since the beginning.
I love this music !!!
This is simply magnificent!!!
He's still got it after all these years & he's made a lot of new fans in recent years!
My favorite song by Gary.
How do you not weep?
@@danielmcalister2713 i never stopped and never will. xoxo 😘.
@@jodeejingles Well? I mean me 62 and US. Grown folks listen and weep.
@@jodeejingles We are ghost nation.
Well, Intruder
Gary delivers always...... that voice is on point Aaftr all these years...... A TRUE LEGEND
Took my 16yr old son to his first gig, Gary Numan @ Rock City Notts he was amazing, absolutely brilliant
He was at Hull uni in October, an absolute fantastic night, I saw him in 85 and he is still a fantastic act to see today.
I was there too, astonishing evening
Im not just saying this but ive lost so much family and recently my mother ive been in really dark places...but ive only ever felt so much understanding with garys music it helpse because it vocalises feelings i cant otherwise Express and almost feels like it was written solely for people in my positioni in life...and has so much power in his music its it's almost godly. I saw him love and it was the best performance of my life he actually feels like he loves every individual fan...he is a beautiful mam
Look to Jesus Christ for your salvation and needs during your time of pain. For no man can provide this except for the son of GOD.
I get you! ....he makes me feel emotional during live performances....maybe he connects with that inner loner/aspegers in me...cos when my wife tells people- "he loves Gary Numan." I reply.." I do love him...the same way I do David Bowie!!" Lol..she always says it's probably because you're both aspegers.
It's not until you see him in an interview you feel more connected. Deep!...but my hero for 40yrs!
Ditto! Too much loss.. so much healing with his music giving me release.. 💜🖤
@@opencarry3860 keep your religious nonsensical crap to yourself. At least Gary Numan is real. Where is your god?
@@opencarry3860 I agree but music can heal and God is no respecter of persons. He bestows blessings and amazing talent on the saved and unsaved. Be careful not to push legalism. God uses a variety of music to help us heal. Thankfully we have Freedom in Him.
One of only a few artists from his era I would still love to see live... his new stuff is even better than his original... surprisingly! The Skaparis Orchestra brings it all up to another level again... creating a brilliant eclectic mix.
❤
Conductor singing along. Love it.
I'm listening to this on Halloween. This is one of the best things I've heard in a long time.
DeepThought X2
Gary numan has proved how versatile he is and is always trying something new.
Absolutely fantastic. He sounds even better live today than he did in the 80's, awesome track & great video, thanks for posting. I will never ever tire of listening to this guy ❤😊👍😃
Thrilled to find out that this is coming out on DVD. Nice to see Gary get away from the faded T-shirt and combat boot thing he's been doing these last years. Love the orchestra.
This live music video was truly epic. I wish I could have seen this live. My mind probably would have exploded.
Masterpiece
This was the concert that blew me away and totally changed my opinion of Numan! I was there, left hand side, lower balcony almost over the stage area. Can't wait to.see him.again!
I had all Garys album back in 78 while I went thru university. Great stuff then. Even better now. And Gary is a truly great person from what I have seen. I wish him all the best and God bless.
Oh my god, this is GORGEOUS. He's just fabulous.
Love it. It’s great how the back ground singers ..strings etc are all incorporated into to a powerful song. The conductor was all over it also. 🤘Can’t wait for the DVD
I agree but wish we could make out the background singers just a little more. I seem to hear opera voices but I can't say for sure as the instruments drown them out to a certain extent. Yeah, I love the conductor's energy.
The Royal Albert Hall was the best gig I have ever been to (and that's out of quite a few hundred gigs)... wish I'd have gone to Manchester as well... okay, wish I'd have gone to all of the dates! I could watch this show daily. Brilliant! Can't wait for the DVD!!🤘🤘🤘
Wish I had gone to the Albert hall.
Only gets better as the years keeps rolling , new innovation, new looks and at the centre of it all an amazing artist and genuine guy . Keep on bringing us this epic music Gary !
I positively love this version
I've been listening to the genius of Gary Numan since the '70s, and just like so many here, have seen him in concert more than once. But never have I seen him work like he does with the Skaparis Orchestra. Every video of him uploaded to youtube, playing with the Skaparis Orchestra is absolutely world-class; the arrangements, the orchestrations, the synchronicity - all of it, genius. What's more, you can see the love and comradery between Gary, the conductor, Simon Robertshaw, and every musician on the stage, as well as the love and comradery between the band members and the orchestra members. That energy comes through in Gary's performances, which (with this orchestra) are stronger, more enthusiastically delivered, and vocally masterful than any concerts I've seen of his. - He should do more work with this orchestra, imo. Their dynamic together is perfection.
Time spent with the best people, the best tour ever culminating in the best gig ever at The Royal Albert Hall. My life is complete.
I was there that night and so bloody glad that I was too. Oh man... He blew my mind and the roof of the Bridgewater Hall to Kingdom come! This gig went straight to no 2 in my top 5 best gigs ever. I've been to over 170 concerts from many genres of music and seen some legends and epic bands....
Excellent!!
Very impressive visuals, uniquely Numan.
Subtle performance from a Master Performance Artist.
He makes the Macabre and the Bizarre fun!
Even all the orchestral and choir performers wore the obligatory makeup, nice touch of homage for the talent of Numan.
When this World ends I want his to be The Finger on The Button!!
I was wondering about the cross icon everyone is wearing and how that plays into the message in his latest recordings?
Brill! .... see you at The Roundhouse this Friday for an unquestionable, explosive FINAL leg of the UK (R)evolution tour gig!! ... 40 years since my 1st EVER 7" single purchase; "Are Friends Electric", never looked back (insane) 😎🎹🎶👍🍻
The Skaparis Conductor Simon Robertshaw is absolutely fantastic individual. Simon arranged all the Orchestal music for Gary for the tour an incredible achievement. He is also an awasome bass player capable of delivering amazing original metal music. . He also played on original rock, blues, country and ballads on many Elias. T. Hoth Live and studio albums including Wrath widower, O Rhesus Negative, Damascus and the new about to be released Elias.T. Hoth Metastatic Syndrome album. What a absolutely incredible and brilliantly talented guy.
Glad to say I was there. This clip shows some really nice shooting and editing, and the sound is excellent. I look forward to this.
Love him , he is just so amazing & his music i never ever tirer of listening to 😚😊😉😙😚😊😉
Me too. Have been a fan for 40 years.
Back in the 80s I knew guys that use to dress and look like him
@@ianholmes3761 me too Ian one was my brother who dressed like him. I been a fan since 1984 my brother fan since 79
Love the tribal face paint on all of the performers , amazing performance
We were at the Royal Albert Hall . It was fantastic We had 3rd row seats. I was disappointed that it wasn’t filmed but this is fantastic. Brilliant. Xxxxx.
Saw him live in New Orleans 2 years ago, totally blew the roof off.
Will definitely see him again.
Stunning! Absolutely stunning.
Many listens to Ghost Nation, but with a full ensemble smoked my senses! Outstanding ❤
This man has brilliant and wonderful vocals. Such a lovely voice and the way he conveys emotion in his music performances.
One of The Greatest Ever Live Performances by Gary , Band and Entire Orchestra, Stunning!!
Something to be said about an artist playing live....sounds better than studio because he is so damn good. JS Props to Numan. Thank you for going out to play for the fans.
As a Gary Numan fan since the late 70s, I'm agog at how he keeps pushing forward, not to mention that he's just such a tremendous artist. Seen him a few times and off to see him again May 2022. Bring it on!
Just extraordinary. I'm a new fan {I know I'm a little late to the game}. Great song made massive with the chorus and orchestra!
You have great taste,my friend,🤍.
💙🖤This was such a special day for me my partner and friends .. it was the day when we met and spoke to Gary Numan and attended the soundcheck .. The show was EPIC and the crowd were electric . I'm so glad we were part of it. This will go down in history as being one , if not the best Gary Numan gig EVER!! 🤘🤩
Me too! such an amazing night
Were your friends electric too? 🤣🤣😉😉
such an awesome day...lovely to meet you both too :)
i clicked on the video for the first time, and was blown away just now!
I was at the meet and greet too. Amazing show. Sounded great.
If you get a chance to see him in concert, do NOT miss it. I saw this in Seattle last year. Amazing. I'd seen him,...in 1979 at the age of 12. In 2018 I took my son to his first concert, Gary Numan. I told him that he's going to have a very hard time topping the event.
saw him in a little club full of mostly boomers and gen x ers in nyc after jagged came out, he really is a 5 or 5000 kind of performer. was a teen then and i think he saw it with hope in a way, a new generation growing up with his brilliance.
Numan is! He gets better with age...unbeilvably. Thanks for 40+ years of innovative music. God bless the Numans.
Ingeniosly!!! That is Perfect ever!
Gary Numan bloody genius nuff said
DVD is excellent.
This is phenomenal!
Orchestra at its best
Wow what a show !

He reinvents himself better than any performer around, I am old enough to have seen many of the greats absolutely fantastic artist
I love your new music and your older music too!! Please continue with what you're doing!!
It’s like my eyes are opening for the first time, and witnessing a captivating event.
Wow, Gary numan.... How great this is !!!!!!
The righteous are here, and we are ready to organize His victory march!
Wow! Gary Numan sounds really good.
I've followed him for all these years... Unfcknbelievable! He just keeps getting better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brilliant...orchestra takes it to another level, goosebumps.....
This concert is glorious ❤can't wait to see one in real life😊
Extraordinary!❤
Gary Numan = LEGEND!
I've loved his music since the 80s, I heard on the news then he suffered from the same thing as me, I didn't know what.
Now I know In 2017 I found out It was Asperger’s syndrome I relate to some of his lyrics like:
Here in my car
I feel safest of all
I can lock all my doors
It's the only way to live
In cars
Here in my car
I can only receive
I can listen to you
It keeps me stable for days
In cars
OMG. Mix with orchestra its fantastic.
40 years in Still at it ! Between the outfits and the make up it looks very Icelandic cool !
I envy that audience so much, I could weep.
Me too. At least we get to see the show on the DVD.
love the orchestra
was a honor to photograph this amazing show
Brilliant, the whole night was amazing, I was there with my husband, can't wait for dvd. Joanne.
Fantastic performance, I love your music!!!
Truly amazing! Gary created a lane that only he can navigate!🏎
Just WOW!❤️🔥❤️🔥
Always liked his music but since lockdown I’ve become a bloody fanatic! Legend!
Omg ! Amazing !🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Wow, that must have been one helluva show. If their is anyone who can write a hook, it's Gary Numan.
Always evolving Gary Human
My first concert was “Cars” back in 79-80? I just heard about his new album. My gosh......he’s amazing. I have a lot of music to take in.
We were there on-the-night whilst recording. The sound was far too loud for the auditorium and was not enjoyable at all. We saw Gary at Preston Guildhall and the sound was far better. Listening to the DVD clip sounds better because of the editing. I honestly think that the sound engineers at live gigs are getting "deafer" due to their constant exposure to excessively high decibel output.
I have encountered exactly the same thing and I have also done the job myself live in a large auditorium so I understand the challenges but these mixing engineers today do seem to suffer with cloth ears!
hearing loss is a real occupational hazard, unfortunately.
If you listen to most people’s stories they typically revolve around varying degrees of unpleasantness. Never really realizing that the only time you can ever have peace of mind now. If not right now. When?
Loved him since jr high, immediately loved this man!! Thx posting this video love orchestra with him;-)
This is so cool. I'm going to write a novel with Gary's music, perfect soundtrack.
Bloody brilliant !
Chills! So good!
Awesome. Watching Gary live is still a thrilling experience 40 years on.
Gary está a otro nivel !!CAPO DE CAPOS !!
A legend !
Amazing artist , composer love him still radiant magic
Awesome!!!
Oh my god this is so cool! Would love to see this live
Indeed, need Gary to get his arse over to Asia🕊
I was there yayyyyyyyyyyy
We were there live on the night, but the sound in the auditorium was far too loud! It was ear crunching! My thoughts are that the sound engineers are getting "deafer" as they are battered by the constant live "over-amplification". Don't get me wrong, I love listening to music through our 700-watt music system. The DVD sounds better though....
It was fantastic live, amazing orchestra 😊 whole new Numan sound
wow, chills and tears, I wish he'd come to Australia! lucky guys in the uk!
Absolutely fantastic. Whilst John Foxx started it all, Gary is carrying the music forward.
