I remember back in the day watching an interview with Pet Shop Boys about why they covered this song. They said they felt U2 were a "Vegas act". It's now 2023 and WOW how right they were!!!

Such incredible talent to take two iconic songs from other legendary artists and make something still recognisably derivative yet this fresh and original. These guys could have written the book on how to do a good cover. And, as usual with PSB, there's that feeling the song could have been recorded yesterday.
I have watched the original U2 video too many times to count plus the U2 super Bowl performance which is still the best ever. Still enjoyed this reinterpretation by Pet Shop Boys.
