Here we are with your Beginners Guide to Under Night In-Birth 2! The classic franchise returns with New Characters, New Moves, New Mechanics, oh and rebuilt from the ground up to support rollback netcode! In this video we will be covering all the main mechanics of the game so you understand how everything works and flows together. So give a watch, leave a like if its not too much trouble, and enjoy! ***edit*** at the start I say there is crossplay, apparently there is not I have been informed, my bad :(
I may have detected a minor error in your video, you state earlier that you need a lead of 6 GRD blocks for Celestial Vorpal but at 20:37 your lead is at 5 blocks and you still gain Celestial Vorpal???
@@swordchronicle To be specific you dont need a lead of 6 blocks to gain celestial, you just need to have 6 blocks or more when the GRD cycle finishes (the clock in the middle). It doesnt matter how many the opponent has at that moment, as if you have 6 or more blocks, you will always have more than your opponent, thus always winning the vorpal cycle. Celestial behaves as if you have 12 blocks initially (you can still lose the blocks gradually through the normal methods) and when chain shifting with all 12 it will give you a TON of meter, more than the max you can hold actually. Just keep in mind that like normal vorpal, if you chain shift, or use the combo veil off (the red one), you lose the celestial state. You CAN however use normal veil off and celestial at the same time, giving you a MASSIVE 40% damage boost.
So yeah, I wasn't expecting this either! Apparently it was very poorly advertised the fact that on console if you pre-order the fancy edition you can get it a few days early, so that means i actually have time to make this guide before Tekken drops lol. Ideally tomorrow expect a Choose a Main video(couldn't get that one done first, just not enough time so enjoy the beginner guide for now!) and we will go from there!

@@AnthanKrufix Have you tried playing online? That's where all the crashes are on PC right now. You said you were looking forward to playing online, so that's why I memed about the crashes. I recently got into this game back in July last year your beginners guide for this game is insanely well done 👍 I’m confident new players will feel less overwhelmed after watching this.

I may not be into Tekken, but I'll definitely keep watching even the Tekken news and guides because I respect all the effort that you put into getting information out there!
hey roofle, you actually missed one more important part about the vorpal buff: every single character gets their kit enhanced in some way when they're in it. the simplest example I can think of is merkava. when merkava uses his EX worms, he plants 3 worms on the ground that attempt to attack you. normally, if you can force merkava to block, the worms will immediately die out. however, if merkava is in vorpal, *those worms are active unless you actually hit him.* so his oki becomes significantly more dangerous when he is in vorpal!
As always an excellent beginners guide on day 0, great summary to get people started! UNI is an amazing game and I really hope the community will give it the love that it deserves.

Why oh why does this game have to come out at the same time as Tekken 😭. I want to play both but I don't have the time. I hope this game is still active when I hop into it in a few months!!!
Great vid! I was wonderin what all the defensive options the game has cause pressure is hell to deal with...So i have a question, ive seen the grid meter be "broken" like a shattered glass effect on your grid meter, how does that happen?
now that II think about it I think i missed covering that in the video, but the main reason is when you are shielding and you get thrown, that will break your grd
Shield also locks you into stand or crouch. If you get hit by an overhead/low while shielding wrong, you get GRD Broken. In short, don't get mixed, shield predictable attacks
I do have a question about this game since you mentioned it said A B C D as attacks, can you change it to where it says like the buttons on the controller or does it just tell you that already? Nvm i found out already that it actually tells you in the game what does what, one thing I didn’t like about Melty Blood Type Lumina was that it was just letters and stuff ❤️
can someone tell me why i would use the normal blocking instead of the other one where u steal their meter, u get meter and u have no downside? or is there
How do you break someone’s guard? Every time I hit someone and I string combos they just block ALL of it but when I block the grd gauge shatters and I can’t block anymore
When you block using the D button, it becomes a Shield. Shield can block chip damage as well. However, if you get hit by an overhead attack when crouch Shielding, or get thrown when Shielding etc, your GRD breaks. Also, getting hit with your opponent's Veil Off activation will break your GRD.
Fantastic guide, but i would like to point out that the EXS meter does not use "anime logic" to explain full meter equaling 200. the meter is not percent, its units. you have 100 units of EXS at "50 percent" and you have 200 units of exs at "100 percent" it's 200 EXS, not 200% exs.

Creeping Edge's a good mechanic to avoid the "it'll never be your turn" part of Uni when in corner, yet what makes it interesting is while it could save you from the corner, its punishable.
so its a choice to keep blocking so you hopefully find one small opening to breathe or risk a roll that could be punished.
Chain shift's also very interesting cuz while it pauses the game and can help(not always) to escape corner, certain interactions make it possible chain shift will fail.
Take Hyde's Dash C for example. apparently its legit a true cross-up vs a wake up on the ground, to the point chain shift doesn't work well vs it.
even if you try to use your own Hyde's DP(even reversing the control direction to account for Dash C cross up) or Gyre vortex, you just get hit by Dash C. its really menacing.

@@rooflemonger ohh ok, so for guard breakin?
Shield also locks you into stand or crouch. If you get hit by an overhead/low while shielding wrong, you get GRD Broken. In short, don't get mixed, shield predictable attacks
Good game
🤓🍿 ty.
Yay
Choose a main coming as well? Please? :)
tomorrow
Nine hours after release on PC, trying to play casual or ranked online just crashes to desktop. I would like to play!
I really hope this game does well but it really was unfortunate timing with tekken
frankly its not the smartest release window. Like if you wanna put out a new shooter would you release directly against the new call of duty?
can someone tell me why i would use the normal blocking instead of the other one where u steal their meter, u get meter and u have no downside? or is there
very easy to grd break if they grab you
My says comes middle of February...
Also, getting hit with your opponent's Veil Off activation will break your GRD.
are you going to make a char overview?
yes
So Veil Off is kind of like KoF Max mode
sorta, yeah. Not exactly 1:1 but there's a lineage there
Question, what is an IC
Fantastic guide, but i would like to point out that the EXS meter does not use "anime logic" to explain full meter equaling 200. the meter is not percent, its units. you have 100 units of EXS at "50 percent" and you have 200 units of exs at "100 percent" it's 200 EXS, not 200% exs.
Look awesome, but to memorize all mechanics lol. Getting closer my 40s I'll stick with kof and sf ,but still look so exciting like kof series
so many games so little time
I'm not sure if I missed it but do you still get GRD broken the same as you do in UNICLR?
I’m new to this series so I have a question do I have to play to first one to enjoy this series or can I just play this and it would be just as fun
you might wanna catch up on the story of some of the older games as this is a direct continuation, but other than that you can easily start from here
@@rooflemonger oh okay cool
damn I wanna play this but its not on Xbox..
