9-28-2022 Thank you! HURRICANE Ian is coming to Florida today. Yesterday we went thru all are final preparations including started generator again and we had no power to plugs. I found your RUclips video last night at work. I showed my husband the video when I got home. He did the drill thing. It worked!

You just confirmed what I think might be wrong. I got one bad outlet but the other one works just fine and I know everything else like the circuit and what not is good too. Great info. and Thank you.
I use a corded drill plug it in then use a cordless drill I put in the drill and tighten both chucks down on the same but and run the cordless drill and reverse, turning the corded drill witch flashes the field
Generator runs and provides power for about 5 minutes then stops providing any power. Motor keeps running. Not drawing anywhere near capacity, in fact it does it even with zero load. Any suggestions?
If the capacitor is leaking or has any kind of discharge wet or dry(or evidence of discharge [dried]) it should be replaced. Could you do a video on GFCI troubleshooting?
This is a long shot. I have a Honda EV 4010, SN 1002864, water cooled RV generator. My testing, following the Honda shop manual for this model, indicates the control module is defective. The problem is that Honda no longer has replacement modules available- it is now obsolete. Do you have any leads on either locating a replacement module or someone who is able to repair said module. All components of the module are embedded. TIA
Since ohms is a measure of resistance, if no resistance exists in an open circuit then MY meter WILL beep In the "horseshoe" setting.... maybe not everybodys meter has that function in the ohms setting, but you cannot state that it will not beep.... YOURS clearly does not, but yours is not the only type in the world.
Hello, Good video. I bypassed my OC sensor on my Generac GP6500. Just took the 2 black wires off and connected them together so the engine would run. Now its running great but has no power output? Does it need the oc sensor to produce power and does it need the hour gauge to produce power. Gonna try everything in your vid and I appreciate you making this video.

However I have a predator 6500 watt with about 400 hours on it and I've kept up maintenance I'm actually out in the deerwoods now and the darn thing just shut down on me. First I there was no power at all and then the motor shut down immediately after like it were running out of gas it starts right back up and it shuts back down in about 20 30 seconds and no idiot lights. I hit the breaker but it doesn't draw on the motor at all . Idea?
I have a welder generator and it has 3 receptacles in total. 1 is a 240v l14-30 and 2 110 like in your video. one 110 has power and the other doesn't the 240 only has 110v. its a Klutch 44451 7500K Arc Welder/Generator 429CC Kohler Gas Engine. ever fix something like this? i think the actual resistor for the amperage selection completes a second circuit allowing full access on all outlets. i feel like maybe thats the problem idk.

0:34 seconds in and I found my solution. The circuit breaker was off. Flipped it in ON position and it worked!
The carbon brush assembly has two wires that sometimes become loose or their connection points need to be cleaned.

07/15/2022: My Onan 4000 doesn't Gen. I'll try these tips and get back with you shortly.
The horseshoe shape is the ohm setting and will not beep. You have to go to the next setting with the arrow pointing at the vertical lines

You need a Lincoln engine driven welder. You can't stick weld with 5500 watts. I went to trade school. Trust me on this.
