I like how this battle takes place in the daytime also, Batman thought that darkness was his ally but it shows that even without darkness that the Batman is a true force to be reckoned with by Villainy, he was broken and left in the dark but crawled back into the light and showed the people of Gotham that in his “final moments” he showed them who he really was, the hero that the city needed but often didn’t want.
@@mitchelldwyer3951yeah it’s an interesting choice I think by Nolan… he was a vigilante that skulked in the dark taking out the thugs that plagued Gotham and now he walks side by side with the GCPD and engages a greater threat head-on, they once hunted him, and now they are his allies
This fight is incredible. From the way the fight starts where Batman and Bane are trying to find each other, to the breaking of Bane 's mask, and his epic berserk moment. Yes, when looking at some of the extras they can look really obvious that they are not hitting their punches, but you have got to appreciate some of them who went above and beyond. Some of the ones I found was the cool dodge to the right at 4:15, the guy in the yellow hoodie pummeling the ever-loving shit out of that guy at 3:36 (who returns for a brief cameo at 4:00), and the guy to the right at 1:53 who straight up picks another guy off the ground. I encourage others to find more of these hidden gems, as they are true gold.
amen. Everyone thinks this scene looks silly and "every" single extra in the background throws soft punches... too many people used to CGI battles, where everything looks perfect but empty and definitely faker than this. You can't avoid some extra from being caught on camera with fake moves, but it's a 2000 people battle, for God's sake....

The new generations prefer pandering to their misled peers, rather than taking a stand. The indoctrinated masses are the first factor which enables authoritarian regimes to flourish, not a symptom.
@@dollazNzentz You see what the depth of your mind enables you to see, I guess that's our hubris. Pointless. You will care 10 years from now when your own government takes away your liberty.
Tactically speaking the police did what is considered a viable tactic for this situation. It’s called “Human Wave” or “Mass Assault” the concept is to drown an entrenched opponent in bodies and engage in close quarters. It’s the epitome of “They can’t stop us all.” Most of these officers lacked a ranged weapon but had a melee weapon; something which their opponents seemed to lack. Once the forward most gunmen make contact with the wave the men in the “reserve” have to move up to reinforce them, lest they risk being overrun. Shooting in this situation is a horrible idea as friend and foe are oftentimes attached to each other in a fight to throw the other man to the ground.
Notice how during most of the fight, Bane is in control and takes on Batman with ease. But when Batman breaks Bane's mask, he loses that control and becomes more aggressive (caused by pain). I just noticed that and it's really cool.
I think it was that point when Bane caught Batman's fist but Batman overpowered him that the fight started turning. You're right though that Batman really started winning when he broke part of his mask.
That scene where Batman shoots the tank and flies off, and the GCPD change from scared and hopelessness to cheer and hopefulness and charge at the enemy is the most Batman shit I've ever seen, that's what he is, a beacon of hope
This movie just showed different emotions Bruce goes through while defending the honor of Gotham. One was a dejected and depressed state after Bane broke his will & the other phase was him overcoming fear by self belief. This is the true definition of ups & downs in life. Amazing movie by Nolan. This scene is powerful
@@seanbuchanan5529 I said as well, and he clearly is afraid, his eyes go wide and and he's amazed when Batman breaks the mask. His punches are a lot more desperate like a caged animal, not the dominating powerhouse he was before
I know right??? I always thought they should’ve shot this under a full moon (or at least light the scene up under one). Batman and the sun just doesn’t seem to go together
Very symbolic, at the risk the pointing the obvious, this is the single moment Batman comes out in broad daylight in the entire trilogy. A dark knight but the true champion of the light.
I watched it on Blu Ray for the 3rd time after 10 years when i bought the disc and i was very surprised how clean and modern this movie even looks today. Especially the IMAX scenes. Very beautiful cinematography👌
This right here (aside from the rest of the epicness) is why I freaking love Hans Zimmer so much. His music synergizes to what we’re watch _so. Damn. Well._ The bulk of this fight is predominantly horns aided by percussion but the instant the music drops n changes to heavy intense drums is exactly timed with him going berserker and it makes the audience almost _feel_ the impact of his fists because of the music. Absolute master tier composure. The *only* god-tier composure who (I believe) can beat him is John Williams. But yeah this was a great ending to one of the best trilogies ever.
The fight is filmed so real you can really the feel the struggle Batman and Bane are having while fighting each other. There is simply not enough words to describe.
I got chills in the theater when Batman came out of nowhere in the bat and shot that tumbler aiming at the police. The start of the fight. All the cops cheering and then screaming as they advance.
This is such a good finale. The cops come back and fight for a battle of true justice. We get Batman fighting Bane in the day (which he never does.) Because bane says he owns the darkness, Batman challenges him during the day where he’s not as comfortable. And they fight on the steps of city hall, a symbol of the system and justice. Such good symbolism and a good finale. Also some extra symbolism of the prison Bane puts Bruce in being the Lazarus pit. Because once Bruce emerges from it, he’s reborn. The Lazarus pit isn’t actually a pit that restores your health, it’s symbolic. Also, we see Bane fight very calmly and collectively the entire movie up until now. This version of Bane is honestly pretty tame compared to the comics. But right at the end when Bane is in agonizing pain, we see him fight the most wildly and powerfully we have all film. In the comics Bane takes a steroid called Venom which makes him super strong. In this movie, Banes venom is pain and suffering, that’s what gives him strength. Good symbolism
Interesting to note that even in Nolan's "realistic" Batman universe, traces of the original villains still remain. In the cartoons, Bane is made much weaker when his venom lines are cut. In Nolan's Batman, Bane is made weaker by his ventilators being cut. The weakness is actually the same, just adapted to fit the universe more accurately.
It took me a long time to understand that the villains in the trilogy use anarchy to destroy Gotham. First the economic depression, then the fear gas, then the birth of Two Face, and discrediting the Gotham justice system. When bringing down the pillars that oversee the justice of the city, it fuels the human nature to do whatever it takes to survive, not knowing it leads to destruction.
I never see a trilogy with a level so high!!!! every pictures, the cast, BO, the point of the movie maker: THANKS NOLAN!!!!!! in french : "CHEF d’œuvre" of the Century
Y’all r missing the point tho, if Batman fought in the dark like before he would have lost since they’re both from the League of Shadows. So he deliberately took Bane on in daytime, knowing to aim for the mask this time 🦇
Why? This wasn’t a time for some kind of cheesy Superhero line or a James Bond quip. It was to the point and badass. Nothing further needed to be said by either Batman or Bane. However........”WHERE IS THE TRIGGER????!!!!”.........that was very cringey and could’ve been much better.
I love how Bane is so cool and calm while fighting, until Batman damages his mask. Then he panics and jusy starts swinging.
Tom Hardy portrays it well, you can feel the pain flood back into him and see the fear and anger in his eyes
Bane is always high
Maybe that's how he gets his Venom, if we were to include the comics and animated series into it.
My understanding would be that his natural body couldn't sustain much more punishment in the pit, and so when he escaped and became the mercenary in this film, I believe that Venom was put into his bloodstream, and the mask helps provide it a little bit.

The part where the police charge at Banes forces always makes me smile. Such an awesome scene.
always makes me laugh, so many people with guns and they just run up to fight hand to hand and don't fire a shot. Sorry, it's a dumb scene.
@@eolsunder would you want the police to wait for the bomb to go off then ?
@@eolsunder There were some shots fired. There were just so many of us. I was one of the goons in this scene. Not joking. We filmed this for 2 days.
The trilogy itself was a perfect odyssey but the action sequence was ridiculous lol. So many people were just hugging each other here
yeah, it was the main bad point of those movies

You ever been in a fight? If it lasts longer than 5 seconds it's mostly hugging and wrestling.
Having worked on the fight scene there, I can tell you we had to plan it carefully so we didn't hurt each other. I was one of the goons. No, you can't see me, I was way in the back.
Haha yep watch at 1:40 anyone else notice the idiot in yellow on the left punching at air 😅🤣
As good as this scene is, I can't help but wonder if it would've been even better if it was set at night and possibly in heavier snow.
Pretty sure it would be epic too, but this being at daylight adds a sense of urgency, IMO. Like, this is the only time Batman fights at day and it’s his final appearance ever… it kinda completes his arc through the trilogy. He’s out of the shadows for the last battle.
He lost to bane in his own gameplay (night & dark environment). Now he needs to change his gameplay to even the odds

The big fight between all the extras really falls apart when you really really look at them
I saw two criminals fighting each other and two cops fighting each other😂😂😂
Well, since I did BG on this, let me tell you we had to be careful with the fighting. We didn't want to hurt each other's asses.
That would be hard to do with so many people tho
It doesn't fall apart. Only if you look it over and over again in speed x0.5.
If you are just watching movie its ok.
Worse things were in other fights like Batman and Catwoman vs Thugs and Batman rescuing Blake.
I didn’t realize how many people were just hugging each other 😂
I like how this battle takes place in the daytime also, Batman thought that darkness was his ally but it shows that even without darkness that the Batman is a true force to be reckoned with by Villainy, he was broken and left in the dark but crawled back into the light and showed the people of Gotham that in his “final moments” he showed them who he really was, the hero that the city needed but often didn’t want.

Lol respect to that guy at 1:53
I like the fact that Batman fights during the day in this scene. It's something different yet it looks really cool.

And they were aware of Gordon's plan with the bomb, they knew it was worth the risk to distract Bane. Not to mention they know Batman is back
you seem like you have experience
It would have made more sense to garrison the buildings around them.
@Minh Hiếu Nguyễn what?
and sloppy too
soo basically like how in batman and robin they cut banes venom tubes?
That scene where Batman shoots the tank and flies off, and the GCPD change from scared and hopelessness to cheer and hopefulness and charge at the enemy is the most Batman shit I've ever seen, that's what he is, a beacon of hope
This movie just showed different emotions Bruce goes through while defending the honor of Gotham. One was a dejected and depressed state after Bane broke his will & the other phase was him overcoming fear by self belief. This is the true definition of ups & downs in life. Amazing movie by Nolan. This scene is powerful
Gordon and his men were the unsung heroes of Gotham.

And in snow at that
1:42 Bane is coming down the stairs like "I have to deal with this shit!"
Very symbolic, at the risk the pointing the obvious, this is the single moment Batman comes out in broad daylight in the entire trilogy. A dark knight but the true champion of the light.
10 years later. still no movie has quite topped this.
Damn. Well._
The bulk of this fight is predominantly horns aided by percussion but the instant the music drops n changes to heavy intense drums is exactly timed with him going berserker and it makes the audience almost _feel_ the impact of his fists because of the music. Absolute master tier composure.
The *only* god-tier composure who (I believe) can beat him is John Williams.
But yeah this was a great ending to one of the best trilogies ever.
4:43 when the boss battle ends and the cutscenes begins
The fight is filmed so real you can really the feel the struggle Batman and Bane are having while fighting each other. There is simply not enough words to describe.

This battle gave me chills in theater. I absolutely love it
4:23 Someone tried to mug me on the CTA. Most badass two seconds of my life lol
1:57 that cop on the left with that superman punch 🤣
Oh no...it's very painful, to see 😂

It took me a long time to understand that the villains in the trilogy use anarchy to destroy Gotham. First the economic depression, then the fear gas, then the birth of Two Face, and discrediting the Gotham justice system. When bringing down the pillars that oversee the justice of the city, it fuels the human nature to do whatever it takes to survive, not knowing it leads to destruction.
