The fact that Matt Reeves took some inspiration from this movie in regards that in The Batman Bruce realizes that he must let go of his desire for vengeance, that Batman must become a symbol of hope to inspire Gotham and become the hero that his city needs him to be.

I think he means that in this case telling the truth would have been easy for him, for Gordon even fair to be honest… but it would have destroyed everything.

Not in every case but certainly in some cases good people take the blame for what others have done. @@romcapprotti7477 lmao what's funny is we are still on the same page ledger's performance, Aarons underused and underrated two-face and bale's acting like "why did I lose everything?" "because you were the best of us"very deep as the joker who has a point to prove also the realism is amazing

in reality, he is because he makes enemies but in Gotham, he's always the hero no matter what because Gotham is born to be in chaos and chaos was responsible to make the enemy

Say whatever you want for the best Batman version, but that look at 1:57 with the eyes conveying the weight of the dialogue can't be done by any other version of Batman than Bale's. He literally nailed it.

💯 Truth. He is a brilliant actor and for me portrayed both bruce nd batman perfectly. I love his hoarse voice he used as batman as well instills fear.. That boldness that fear he wants his enemies to share the dread that he was affected by. This voice gives that vibe of a justice league leader a dark knight someone enemies should fear. Thats wht for me he is the best batman... Also because bale knows how to act with his eyes and voice exceptionally well

"Sometimes truth isn't good enough. Sometimes people deserve more. Sometimes people need to have their faith rewarded."
I really struggled with the philosophy behind it. I believed nothing could be beyond and higher than truth. Truth can't be compromised for anything. But I understand it now. Faith is higher than truth. Justice is higher than truth. Because we are talking about subjective truth here. It's not eternal truth, which we will never fully know.
It's a religious movie. It's a movie about faith and justice. Indeed, It's a perfect movie.

The third movie is about the truth being the most important value.
Many characters (St Swithin's boy, Selina, policemen) still believed in Batman, even after being blamed for Harvey and the others.
Not only that, Gotham was never really free until the truth prevailed.

Do you remember the Joker's interrogation scene? When he said that Batman was gonna break his one rule of killing? That's what he wanted throughout the whole movie and now he still won - Batman decides to take the blame for the massacre caused by Two-Face which in theory means he killed some people, thus breaking his rule. The amount of details in this film, man...

I still don't get why they couldn't just pin Harvey's killings on the Joker? He and Batman were at the same place at the same time when Harvey's crimes happened. Gotham would be way more likely to believe that Joker would do that over Batman.
