I am now in Athens and never been here before, I and my husband really enjoyed the time here in Athens, we arrived last Saturday and will leave on Monday going back to Australia...I was watching your videos from Sydney and I liked it.... thank you for the info for Athens, it was really useful
Delphi is a magical place. It's a fairly steep hike up to the stadium but well worth it. We went there for one night and then on to Meteora for two nights. Another magical place and I thought a pretty easy drive. The Greek roads we were on were all very good.
I guessed Nafplio, Corinth and Delphi lol! Those are three of my must-sees when I (eventually) make it to Greece. Thank you for the other recommendations!! I love love love the ancient, historical side of Greece - but I sure love a good beach too!! I swear I'm gonna go there on a 2 week vaca and just end up staying forever 🇬🇷💙 Edit - my other two guesses were Meteora/Kalambaka and Olympia!
Great guesses! Greece is a nice combo of history and beach. Meteora is really too far for a day trip. People do it but it’s a 4 to 5 hour drive one way!
@@agirlandherpassport ahhh I didn't realize it was that far. I work for a travel company (in the US) and Greece is one of my territories. Two of my tours go to two of the monasteries, but they stay in Kalambaka so I don't ever realize how far the stops they have are from each other. Definitely somewhere I'd like to spend a couple of days anyway!! Geia sas!
I think there are several other day trips you didnt mention, Marathon, Marathon lake, loutraki, porto germano, vravrona, chalkida... Maybe should had 10 day trips 😉
I really wanted to go see the Temple of Poseidon when I last visited Greece (2018), but it didn't work out. My plan was to rent a car (maybe a convertible, 'cause why not??) and drive down the "Athens Riviera," stopping along the way to eat, shop and sunbathe. Have you driven there? Are there lots of places to do these things, or is it more of a residential area the whole way? It looks like an easy drive too. Thank you for this informative video, and glad to see you're doing well after your recent health issues.
did you know that there is a bust of emperor Nero carved into the Roman part of the canal? it's at the entrance on the Corinth bay where the Romans started the canal.
Looking for the closest day trip? Check this video out, ruclips.net/video/0JLVz4QvLFY/видео.htmlsi=g22zgxmQb_qT270c

I am so glad you enjoyed it. Have a safe trip home! I hope you will come back.
Epidavros is another great day trip from Athens.
I haven’t been there yet so hopefully another video for the future. 😊
You will like it there. It's a fascinating place and one of the best preserved ancient sites in Greece.
It’s on the list!

That climb is steep! I was glad I had gone early in the morning.

There are lots of places to stop. Different beaches and towns. I haven’t stopped to shop but there are places I am sure.

I didn’t! That is cool.
@@agirlandherpassport yeah if you look on google maps and zoom in on the Corinth bay side of the canal you will see the marker on the map

Thanks!
Hello! If you have several days and can choose 2 places to visit only, between Meteora, Nafplio and Delphi which two would you choose? Thanks
Hi! I would do Delphi and Meteora. They are closer to each other than Nafplio. They are also two of my favorite places here.
@@agirlandherpassport thank you so much🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
@@annelle525 You’re welcome!
Efharisto for the info❤
You’re welcome!
If we have to pick one - Cape Sounion or Delphi?
Delphi for sure. More to see there and a different landscape of Greece.
