Great video and great set up. I actually find 'dressing up' gives me a better feel of the kit used by soldiers. Ha ha, your little feline friend got the last meow in at the end - too funny.😺
Cheers Al, yeh the cats always have to be in🤣🤣. Yeh I know what you mean, that's why i did it rather than just on a helmet stand ....I wanted to see what it looked like on a person rather than a mannequin 🙂🙂
Spent ages in basic " camming up" the tin helmet. My spider inside was broken so the helmet kept wiggling all the place. Sat in the middle corridor cutting up hessian and tying it on. The elastic strap was useless for running in as well. Who thing just kept bouncing. When I first got my kevlar helmet it was like night and day.
Thanks for the comment KTM, yes I can imagine the helmet moving around. Guy I work with is ex army and he served late 70s early 80s and he said the same thing 👍. I do think it looks good though but the next generation helmet mk6 I find very comfortable, but that's only for back garden re-enactment and not doing a proper serviceman job!!....🙂🙂, thanks again m8 for sharing your memories 👍👍👍
Cheers Captain, yeh I don't mind I quite enjoy it to be honest.....a couple of my non militaria m8s have scoffed at my hobby but I really do not care....living history/re-enacting/collecting & doing videos is a very interesting hobby and I for one love it 🙂🙂
@@steelhelmetstan7305 Mate I get you 100%. I've got only a few close mates that respect my hobby but don't share the same passion for it, Which is fair. But I think this is why we've come to youtube to do this and share our hobby, I think I've made a few mates since I started spending my youtube time commenting on peoples collections and re-enacting interests. This is our passion and hobby, we don't need to be sorry at all for it, Only we know how awesome this hobby is!
Hi fella We've chatted before and you know my age and background Keep doing what you enjoy life's far too short and we don't know what the future holds I have been doing what you're doing since the 1970s at least and I don't intend stopping any time soon haha

DDR helmets definitely not, side caps one or two do...tunics are a squeeze...up until my short stay in hospital they did fit but I've put weight on due to laying about for a month, so maybe or maybe not 🤣🤣
Ne'er mind. Perhaps in a couple of months it'll fit. PLW History are premier league military impression youtubers. Are you subscribed to them ? @@steelhelmetstan7305
