TBF, It's awesome that they enable people with low spec PC's to play the game. I can't say my PC is low spec at all but there came a point when I was growing up (late 90's/early 00's) where a semi-decent (by those times) rig was needed to play the latest releases at something more than 5fps lmao. Good job devs.

I did a lot of optimizations, like, disabling Telemetry, services and other Stuff, even downloading Razer Cortex, so yeah. This is a Proof that Optimization is the real deal. Yakuza 0: 60 Fps Low Graphics Yakuza Kiwami: 60 Fps High Graphics Yakuza Kiwami 2: 60 Fps Low Graphics Yakuza 6: 60 Fps Low Graphics Yakuza 3, 4, 5: 20-30 Fps, Lowest Graphics And no, I don't play like it Looks in the video, I can manage to play the games (Except Yakuza 3, 4, 5) on 1366x768, my Laptop full res. without any problems at all. Pro Tip: If you have problems, but not so many in the Fps area, and you got 1366x768 Res, put in on 1360x768, the difference on Fps is huge, and 6 pixels less, I don't think that's a huge difference.
No cap i actually beat all judgment games on my laptop with an i5 8250u, mx150 and 8gb of rams. Big thanks to rgg devs for optimizing their games so even potato configs like mine can run them 🙏
Low end gamers be like: I don't give a fuck how it looks, I can play Yakuza and that's all I need. Being a shitty computer owner and a Yakuza fan I respect anyone with this mentality
640x480, 800x600 and 1024x768 were the common 4:3 resolutions on PCs 20 years ago. So it's pretty logical for them to include those, just in case a retro collector or simply a broke person is playing on old monitor/TVs.
With the resolution scaling option set to 50% (minimum) you can essentially run these games in half the resolution of 640x480 aka 320x240 render resolution. This setting also affects texture resolution too (although capped to something like 85% in Lost Judgment) which is why everything looks blurry
3:07 It's a great option to have, though. Craptop gaming was often somewhere around here for various things. Getting 45FPS at this resolution was cathartic compared to having a much higher resolution at ~20FPS. The games themselves don't necessarily support certain resolutions, though. You can usually add a custom resolution in your driver settings and games will usually start having that as an option. (Some games hardcode their resolutions, but I don't believe the Yakuza series does this). To make the game at a proper widescreen resolution, I used to input a low 16:9 resolution. So instead of 800x600 one could instead do something like 800:450.
TBF, it's thoughtful of the devs to give better accessibility for different PC's. My personal gaming PC is very weird, so I'm constantly changing to 4:3 ratios and adjusting resolution. I've given up so many games on Xbox Live membership because the game won't let me change resolution and makes me see every follicle on a wolf regardless if I need to see it or not. Thanks RGG for letting me accododate.
It's with these videos that i tend to think "thank god i have a very working 2060 and don't have to complain for low settings in my life" cause christ some of these are rough
The trick to make it look acceptable on low end systems(in my case it was a haswell i5 with a gtx660ti) is to set the texture quality to high setting. I experienced barely noticeable effects on performance, yet it made the game perfectly acceptable from visual standpoint(trees actually had leaves in the beginning rendered cutscene of Kiwami 2 for example). Had to live with 720p 20-30fps though. Went through all of the main story like this but I gave up on side missions.
Before the Dragon Engine games, they used to look still good on Low but here it's like there's no lower limit for how bad it can get so like low textures on old engine is like medium now.
To make this better, i'm watching this at 144pbon a smartphone. The audio is super muffled, I can't read a quarter the text, and the high def graphics are all burring together. Ar 2:44 i can't see any people. It's a beautiful mess.
good god this is is even worse than 720p lowest settings thats something i truly appreciate about the older dragon engine, that even if your pc was subpar you could still have a decent looking game its wild playing this on 720p lowest seeing fuzzy ass hair then it cuts to 1080p HD prerender of kiryu's flowing hair before he gets stabbed
when I started Judgment/Lost I was surprised by the fps, because Kiwami 2 was ass in the fps thing and the graphics, idk if the same ppl ported the game, but they did god tier work with judgment, 30fps in max settings
Don't go thinking the dragon engine games work fine on low-end PC's even with potato graphics, the dragon engine stutters alot especially during pre-rendered cutscenes having the story unplayable, though Yakuza 0 - 5 is completely fine.

Yeah honestly I wish all games had these settings.
sadly even with all those settings, I can't run any yakuza
1. Add low spec pressets for 2010 potatoes
2. Add AVX in every yakuza game since 3 remastered

wow yakuza 0 with low settings looks like something off an early 2000's mobile game.
