you may have already found the answer to this, but the "quick tips" video is just showing how to do some neater stitching when joining on a new color and some nicer ways to do the slip stitch - it doesn't give instruction on how to do the first three rows of the persian tile specifically. there are other videos on youtube that will give you the stitching for that if you can't figure out from the pattern instructions.
Hi, that was my same question also. I too watched the quick tip video and it did not address the first few rounds. Did you ever find a video to help with that? I would like to watch it also
I got the pattern however, having the video is very helpful! I went through all the rounds on the pattern and my octagon looks like a flower . I will restart it following the videos
Seriously, Janie, these people who can’t figure out the first 3 rounds of this pattern have no business doing this caliber of work. I do not consider myself an advanced crocheter, and I just finished the fruit garden afghan and it turned out perfect. I am now making the Sandalwood Persian Tiles afghan and loving it. I appreciate your work and the free videos.
So looking forward to doing this lovely blanket in Sandalwood and thank you for these helpful videos😊. My biggest problem is always where to join at the end of a round - often ending up with the wrong number of stitches/spaces. If I were to use a stitcn marker at the beginning of a row, where would you recommend I put it to help with this? Many thanks for any advice. Best wishes❤
If you were looking to use a stitch marker on the rounds, make your first stitch and then pop it straight into that stitch. I get lost if I don't do that! - Emma x
I always love UK terms so much simpler on my brain thanks for the share however the dark yarn ues I understand it is a part of the pattern but it horrendous for demo to see which st yoir are working into.
I am very disappointed that rounds 1 thru 3 were omitted,. Although the video is titled Octagon rounds 1 thru 5, it is in fact only round 4 and 5. Presuming that the quick tips video will help. Once again in the next sequenced video, she omits 6 and 7 rounds, explaing that it very simple following the pattern, which clearly her customers disagree with, which shows in the comment section the amount of questions pertaining to the omitted rounds. I've posted this as a courtesy for others, so they can decide if they want to proceed with this series if tutorials or not. Personally, after becoming frustrated with the omitted rounds have no desire to further purchase any of her patterns or yarn. I feel she should either update her tutorials which include the omitted rounds or fully disclose that there are incomplete rounds. Anything next to that is deceptive . Such a shame, her work is so beautiful, but the lack of simple business courtesy has overruled the beauty of her work and any future purchases from me.
Hello - thank you for your feedback. We actually provided these video tutorials as a courtesy after collecting feedback from customers in the years we have had the pattern published. The rounds we feature are those we received the most requests for. The videos were made in response to that and we didn't ever promise or intend to provide a full video version of the pattern, more a support resource, free of charge. We will re-visit the accompanying information on the videos to make sure this is more clear. Once again we apologise for any disappointment or confusion.
@@janiecrow8472can you guys create a full tutorial all the way through? Im so disappointed with your patterns and how you handle things with them. Its so frustrating as a visual learner who needs tutorials. You wont let anyone make tutorials (which is fine I realize lots of work went into this pattern) but you also wont let anyone provide advice/help on this pattern without proof of purchase…. So I purchase it and ofc cant understand the pattern so I search for support and/or tutorials and this is what we get after spending $15 and waiting 4 weeks for it to come in… its so frustrating.
@marjorie3174 I actually finished it 2 months ago with the help of another channel who recorded and shared their time as they worked on it. I completely over it.....

Hi. I watched the quick tips video but it didn’t really show what you have ended up with there in the first 4 rounds.
I mean the first 3 rounds

✨Love your ART!✨✨
After round 5, is it supposed to lay flat? Mine is already a bit wobbly and I'm not sure why. Any advice? Thank you
No not at all - it's fine for it to be wobbly, the next rounds will straighten it out
Thank you for your help 😊

that is not dtr? dont you need to loop three times? that is just normal treble?
Hi - this is UK terminology. In US terminology it is a treble.
