Beaded Pine Winter Mitts: Making the Tree - Rows 4-7 of the chart
This video will show you how to work the key elements of rows 4-7 of the chart: it is intended to refresh your memory on placing beads using bhtr to the front (bhdc for US crocheters!) and bdc (or bsc for US crocheters).
If you need further beading tuition, please see the following video:

NB: We use a small sample piece in the video, not the full stitch count of a mitt. We are using this to demonstrate the making of the tree, rather than the making of the actual mitts themselves.

❤Thank you for making these Videos! I start this project today. Thank you for mailing the yarn! Merry Christmas!
Very well explained.. better than many other methods
thank you! We are very glad you found the video helpful
Kanalınızı yeni keşfettim ve abone oldum lütfen Türkçe alt yazılı olursa çok sevinirim teşekkürler
Your videos are so helpful! I'm new to crochet but I still read all the directions first from start to finish and then as I come to each round I read and try to figure out the instructions BUT confirming if I read it right by checking here is invaluable. I did not realize that the fan edge is pulled down to the looped area so when I saw you do it the lights came on. It's genius actually in pattern design. Thank you.
Thank you so much! We're really glad you found the video useful x
First part is not there.pls explain again
Where video round 3? Can’t find it
How many chained to make the frame?
104
Hiya! I think there are some errors on the pattern for the US of this round? It says DC when it should say SC?
Oh goodness - thank you for this! We will amend it. Thanks again
That’s just so pretty
Beautiful ❤
Omgoodness, these are adorable!!!
I love it ❤ thank you so much
Seriously, Janie, these people who can’t figure out the first 3 rounds of this pattern have no business doing this caliber of work. I do not consider myself an advanced crocheter, and I just finished the fruit garden afghan and it turned out perfect. I am now making the Sandalwood Persian Tiles afghan and loving it. I appreciate your work and the free videos.
TO MUCH TALKING!!! 👎
If like me you crochet into the back bump of chains, rather than the chain loops, you might want to orient your work differently when connecting the stems to the flower. I found I had to hold it all upside down, oriented correctly, but slipped into the stitches in reverse order (so working left to right rather than right to left, if you're r handed like me). This leaves the back bumps of the chain ready to be worked after slipping.
This is a really helpful comment - thank you.
The tutorial says single crochet for 10 stitches in the second to last row, and then it says single crochet for nine. I’m confused where all these numbers are are coming from. Is there anyway to get a better explanation for the steps that were skipped?
Hi - they should be properly covered in the pattern but please do get in touch if you've got further questions.
I just made all the circles, “a piece of cake”…next is to connecting the pieces... no, not easy at all. And the yarn is so dark and beautiful violet, need proper lightning, too. This video was very helpful! Thanks!
Thank you - we are very glad you found this helpful
Can't thank you enough for the videos without them I wouldn't have made the attempt to start the blanket
You are welcome - we are so pleased to hear this! Just what we hoped for!
I'm finally onto your creative, addictive project! Most of our little crochet group here in Mkushi, Zambia have already made this gorgeous blanket. Thank you for the free gift and Emma's clear instruction. Enjoying the Kaffe Fasset type inspiration thru your eyes, Janie. What's the next one called? 😂❤
Oh my goodness how lovely! Always an absolute delight to know that there are groups who are working together on a Janie Crow project! Fabulous! Watch this space.....😉
Olá muito prazer, estou percebendo que seu crochê está do lado do avesso, por que? Cada carreira sendo de uma cor diferente, não precisa ter avesso pra frente, certo? Bjô 😘
What size yarn and hook do you use?
This is rather sweet looking, thank you so much Emma. I’m all the hound there is, do you know which one might be the strongest for wear and lots of cuddles? Ellen. From Geraldton Western Australia. 😊
Hi Ellen - could you just explain a little further what you need please? We would love to help! Emma x
@ Hello Emma, I think I was asking which join might be strong for wear and tear and for snuggling under, with the blankets. I must have been half asleep when I made this comment. Please forgive me. Wishing for you all a Merry Christmas God Bless from Ellen. 🧶☕️🩷🤗🥂
너무 아름다운 블랭킷이네요. 한국에서 구매하고 싶은데 어떻게 해야 하나요.?
I love your videos but it’s to many adds
I finished thanks to these fabulous videos! Thank you so much!
Oh this is great to hear! We are so pleased that you found them helpful xx
Round 6: around the 5 chain-bows you make 6 double crochet. Round 7: 4 double crochet in the middle of the 6 DC of the previous round. You can start this round in the second DC of the bow. In between 3 chains. Good luck.
👍❤️🙏🏻
Can I please have the stitch count for all three rounds for the sunflower frame?:)
I came here because I had a question about row 6, and she said “Oh those rows are self-explanatory so we skipped them.” If you’re not going to cover a row, please change the video title to just say it’s for row 8.
Great to have these videos!
Glad you like them!
Great video. Learned a lot!!!
Glad it was helpful!
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😍🧶❤️🥰👍🏼😘
Thanks,, Janie. You make everything look so easy. However, I've got to train my brain to think stitches must be converted to U.S. terms. One question I always have for your beautiful designs: How to make the afghan-size projects bigger?
You could always make more motifs - as long as you make a full row or strip, you can add them on. You will need to adjust stitch counts for borders etc but generally speaking if you add a motif in, your stitch count should increase by the amount you'd need to make any pattern repeat work out ok. Hope that makes sense!
@Gul
Janie thank god for these videos! For when I'm either stuck on a method I'm new to, or clearly haven't read the pattern correctly (like this time 😂). I hadn't a clue you made these to accompany your patterns until I started SOF, so it's also really nice to watch and see that I'm doing certain things correctly, or finding you use the same little tricks as me. I love your patterns so much. Total addict!
Dear Janie Crow family, thank you for all your videos for this work of art. I just couldn't believe myself how I could manage to crochet such a complicated design. Without your kind help, time and energy for these videos, it was impossible. Thank you again!
Спасибо за видео!
Очень красиво!!!!!🎉🎉🎉
Do I make two of part one? After Row 7 it says to make another piece to match.
Hi - yes, you make 2 identical pieces and then join them at the end to make the blanket
If you please could you send the vedio of this motive
You are a great teacher. Thanks for your time. I will be making a beautiful throw for myself 😊❤
You are so welcome!
I love your work. I crochet like you do and ypu have different patterns. Thx for your time😊
زیبا❤❤
How many chains for frame?
Hi, stitch counts are given in the pattern
How many DCs (UK terminology) on the corners for round 5? I'm struggling to understand if it is 3 or 4
Hi - this should be clear in the pattern but please do get in touch if you have further questions.
Janieeeeee! I've just purchased my materials and can't wait to get started 😄😄😄😄 I love your style sooo much. I started with the fridas flowers blanket and just completed Persian tiles (eastern jewels!) and am totally addicted. I remember seeing this a while ago, I'm guessing when the CAL first came out and thought I'd never be able to make something so beautiful. But after tackling the last two and winning big time, I feel super confident now and feel like I'm about to complete my dream project. Knitting and crochet really is a therapy for me, as it is so many others. I'm so grateful to have found your work ❤
Absolutely lovely to read this - thank you !
❤️❤️⭐️
when joining for the fan, the video looks like 4 chains 2:15 . is this correct way to join? the instructions call for 1 ch + ch 2
You are correct - it should be 3 as per the patterns
БлагоДарю за отличную идею. Это лучшее, что я смотрела!📌🌹🌹🌹
